Very important information here, I am sure it will be appreciated more as time goes by. Also just want to say your hair is just beautiful!!! Mine is at about 30 inches (was only trying to see how long I could get it) and I am tossing around the idea of cutting it into a partial shag and keep some length in back. I had some of it loose one day and it got taken up by the seat belt when I undid it and was stuck with my head pinned while my grandson went to get some scissors. I am more careful now but ready for a new doo. Stay safe and well and informative!

I switched to a Garmin a year ago and haven’t had any problems at all. Mount has never fallen while driving, not intermittent powering issues, cords going bad, nothing. At first I was nervous to spend more money on a GPS after messing around with rands for so long but I’ll never buy another RM again.
I have the Overdryve 8 Pro 2 and it does not have a GPS Repair option under Trucker Tools. It is stuck installing rd.MjPDF file, still usable though. It's sitting next to the wifi box at home, 2 factory resets done as well.

Had the same problem with my 85 tablet, was told the same thing when I called McNally. After I was hooked up to a strong Wi-Fi at home still did the same thing, when bought a new one after getting back on the road did a reset at a flying J hooked up to their Wi-Fi for both of them and both did a full update of their 6.0 or what ever their biggest update was now I got two working GPS’s
My biggest issue with Rand McNally products is that they have the tendency to break apart. I don't know why, but it will separate at some point. They're not put together well.
When I first got started I had the 720 or 725, can't remember! Never a problem, easy to update, kept me out of trouble. I sold it when I went to yard work. Mistake. Got a tnd730 and heard some rumors. But it will not update on my modern computer. The Dock always says "not connected", but the 730 says its connected. Tired of crap that don't work.
I had that same issue, I damn near stressed myself to death dealing with that damn rand mcnally b4 I sent it back to rand mcnally and it got lost at USPS and they refunded me $500 and I switched to Garmin
I just got a TND 750 and it can't update the OS. It is trying to go to build # 151. It has downloaded the same update 20 times but it can't install it. Zero options for forcing it to work. Did a factory reset. Did the GPS file repairs. Nothing works. I'm at home on normal internet. Even tried my hot spot cause why not. Any input from anyone would be appreciated.

How do I get off demo mode. Can’t set to WiFi can’t do anything. If I select truck tools or anything else it shows a demo. No buttons work other then on off if u hold for a long time
It's always the cord on Rands stuff, just connect it directly without magnet or glue it. Anyways these new versions don't have all the information address truck stops the old versions had. Either the employees working for Rand deliberately to do less work left them out or while transferring info their servers or something technical failed to transfer. Quality control should've inspected and fixed all these issues. So far the only good product this past years is the headset cleardryve 220 and the dashcam 500. Both Garmin and RM dropped the ball on gps's these past years big time.
I did the update using Hotspot but I used a Samsung tablet on the Verizon network and was parked. I didn't have any issues with the update. There is a difference between using a phone Hotspot and tablet Hotspot due to the device overheating during large downloads.
idky they make these things cordless. the batteries always end up going bad over time and need to be plugged in 24/7 so just cut the costs and make them corded devices. also enough with that magnet mount ffs.
Anyone know how long the installing update is supposed to stay on for the rd.MJPDF? Mine is "installing" over 10 minutes now. Everything else that needed to be installed done it quickly. (This is not the first time I tried doing this update. I have factory reset and I have tried this update at home and at a loves. The only thing I get is the installing update. The GPS works as if the update has no threw like no stalling or shutting down. BTW Im using the Overdryve 8 pro 2
If you ask me RM made a mistake when they eliminated the RM dock on the computer and went to full wi-fi updating. I never had any issues with updating on the older model, and this new one seems to be a lot more glitchy. Also, despite what RM tech support says, I wouldn't do the full factory reset unless it's your absolute last option. I tried it and it caused a license key problem I still haven't gotten straightened out yet.
I hated the dock I didn’t have a problem with the 720 update over Wi-Fi but they changed so much with the 750 I was completely lost but the 720 always took me the right way. This 750 I swear I don’t know what they did but they f’d it up big time. This thing wants to take me the wrong way so much it’s not even funny. My brother in law’s having the same issues with his as well
@@williamstockton2344 to be fair, a while back i finally found a wifi connection that it was able to update on (which was a good thing because i was on the verge of getting rid of it one way or another). Once I did their huge system update the GPS was greatly improved. I'm actually happy with it now, but I still say they should've at least kept the option of updating on the computer if the wifi is going to be this picky.
No… you can buy a deep freezer for trucking or camping and it’s slightly larger than a cooler… throw anything in there. Air fryer and you have a fridge along with crockpot foods. I stopped eating truck stop food unless it was sit down or popeyes chicken
Rand sucks. I bought a Garmin. I had a old 5" rand and always had charging issues, had it replaced 3 times until my one year warranty was over then I was screwed. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER RAND GPS!!!
Hello! Personally I like these types of headphones better than AirPods. The only reason is because technically you are not allowed to have both ears covered while driving. With air pods I felt the need to always have both in. Another great thing about the headsets is they are great at noise cancellation and to me are more comfortable to wear.
Already done all this and it gets to 1 file, the .navi/ file and wont repair. Had it connected to a strong wifi signal for over 7 hours and it still didnt repair this 1 file.
@@williamsimmons6225 once its down to just that 1 file, put it back to factory settings, then try on different wifi connections until it finishes. Thats what ended up working for me.
I understand you are trying to help, butt just listen to what you just said, - It's almost sounds like I either have to take few days off of my work and spend hours and hours on the phone fixing it..., and yours still doesn't work the way it's should after all you did, and it's shame. I think that unit is probably very low on internal memory in first place, and all those updates simply don't fit, but they trying to convince customers it's bad internet, wow... I'll say don't buy the product from the company who doesn't stand behind their product !!!

i have both ran mcnally and Garmin GARMIN IS BETTER.. definitely try it. you won't look back.
