Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer ever. He’s 6’3” 240lbs, pure power. He’s 36 yrs old which is up there for a hockey player because of the wear on their bodies but he’s showing no sings of slowing down.
He has 780 career goals all with 1 team. He’s 3rd in all-time scoring and is chasing Gretzky’s record of 894. It would likely take him 3 more seasons to break it.

He's great, in that he has consistently scored a lot of goals, but guys like Gretzky and Brett Hull (his dad was a great scorer,
too) have scored a lot more goals in a season. Gretzky scored 92 goals. Hull about 86 goals. Mario Lemieux 85 goals. Ovechkin had 65 goals in a season. Up there, but not at the levels of those players and a few more.

@@ORagnar no dude...listen, I'm old school, been watching hockey since '77 and OV is absolutely on the same level of those guys. When you account for era and how much scoring is down now compared to the 80's/early 90's, OV is right there. The league average was around 7-8 goals per game through the 80's/early 90's. The average has been around 5 per game over the last 20 years.
All you have to do is pop up the list of total goals scored over the last 15 years and you see very quickly that no one is even remotely close to OV

Ovechkin is a 3-time world champion, Stanley Cup winner and holds many world records. Also recognized in 2006 as the best NHL player in history, he was the Captain of the Washington Capitals team, then returned to Russia. Part-time and head of the general staff of the hockey club Dynamo Moscow, he returned to Russia. But in my opinion, he still plays for the club in America and is now even preparing for the new season. Generally an international player

Alex Ovechkin is 36 years old I started learning how to play hockey by watching him I’m a left-handed person in hockey. But I play all my other sports of the white hand basketball football cricket badminton tennis all my other sports players on the right hand for hockey player laughter and it just like Alex Ovechkin

Most of the top players in the NHL are around 10-12 million a year, not counting endorsements. Those sticks are composites and now shoot harder than ever. The all star competition contests show the shots over 100 miles per hour.

Slapshots are typically anywhere from the 80s-nearly 110mph in the NHL. And the defensemen stand in front of those shots to block them. Been playing hockey for almost 25 years. Best thing in the world. Hardest Slap Shot is a competition every year for All Star Weekend.

Since we’re getting into hockey pretty heavily now, a couple of suggestions:
    - Mario Lemieux’s highlights arguably better than Gretzky (if you ask a Penguins fan), but had to recover from cancer in the middle of his career
    - Bobby Orr
    - For a very “North American” style of hockey taken nearly to the absurd, watch something about the Broad Street Bullies - the Philadelphia Flyers from the early 1970’s
And while it would be difficult to do a video on it, think y’all would enjoy watching the movie Slapshot.

to answer your question @ 7:00, they have a "fastest shot" competition every year at the All Star game, and the winner's shot is generally between 100-110 mph.

You should have shown his hits; he hit a guy so hard that the plexiglass broke on his first shift in the NHL. And, you guys shoud definitely review Dustin Byfuglien's highlights: He has the size of an NFL offensive lineman who had skill and absolutely crushed players.
