09:30 What a majestic-looking mountain ranges! It is so strange to see that much light well after 10 PM. Glad you made it in time to capture this beautiful footage.
I was paranoid actually at the time about not getting to the Kicking Horse campground in time. I don't like setting up a tent in pitch black. Fortunately I got all setup just in time. It got completely dark about an hour after setting up camp. It doesn't get completely dark until around 11:30PM and also at that time of the year the sun starts coming up around 3:45 AM. It's very good for tent camping that way because it's nice to have some ambient light in the tent for most of the night. It's helpful for reaching for that 4AM snack or drink :-)
Ben driving through there 4 times, hope to visit again soon. Very nice video! Last time we drove there in 2014 there was a car accident just before the bridge at 1:25.
We plan to take this section in quite early in the morning in transition from Banff to Kamloops in September , we will drop in at Takkakaw falls just to say that I drove the switchbacks :-) We don't get many of those in the U.K
Terrific views but it's such a shame that some parts of the Trans-Canada Highway are not a Dual Carriageway yet! At least they are going to upgrade it as you mentionned in the video !
Yes, the first phase of Trans Canada twinning in Yoho (under federal government jurisdiction) will be done by March 2018. After that, the other 40 km through Yoho will hopefully be twinned. There is currently no schedule for this however. Link: www.pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/bc/yoho/info/gestion-mgmt/rtc-tch For areas in provincial jurisdiction, I believe there is unfortunately only one part currently under construction: An area east of Malawka crossing the Perry river. I believe it is called "North Fork" on the BC Highway 1 Twinning website.
Love this stretch of road. It's really pretty in the summer evening light going east.
that's the way I was going yup. :-D
The music , speed of the video and the mountain scenery is just perfect.I enjoy all of your videos.
Thanks. I'll have more from the lower mainland of BC area this year, and I'll be driving in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland this summer too. :-)

11:29 10 pm and you still had sunlight? Beautiful video.
yes it stays bright for a long time at that time of year, very fortunate for those long road trips.

Lovely video as usual Phil! The new bridge and cut through the mountain is always one of my favourite highlights when going to Vancouver from Calgary.
agreed, it's very distinctive.
Excellent video. Again. Bravo.
Thanks for stopping in.
Great video as always Phil, thank you
Thank You! It was amazing being here in the evening. I hadn't driven through Yoho in the evening light before.

yeah I know exactly the section you mean. That steep switchback on the access road up to Takkakaw Falls is neat. Takkakaw is quite a high waterfall.
absolutely stunning.i love Canada ;)

Glad to could finally get this footage in a video.
Bravo. Bravo! *Stands and applauds*
Thanks! I hadn't driven through the mountains in the evening like this before.
