I watched this movie in theaters about 12 years back. But I keep coming back to this movie after every 2-3 years. It's a feel good movie, a perfect mood lifter..
Vinay Pathak is not only a good actor but also a great human being.... As I found his profile I sent him friend request without any hope of getting accepted.... But he not only accepted the request but also generous enough to send me sweet reply.... I totally respect him a lot😊

Indeed, those who live in glasshouses deny themselves the window to the world which provides the vantage point to understand life. Every human being deserves recognition. Rich or poor, pretty or not-so-pretty, 'what's the big deal.' Change it if you can, otherwise accept life on its own terms. In the larger scheme of things, really, IT IS NO BIG DEAL! This is one of the underrated awesome movies. The performances are under-appreciated. Why life should not be taken too seriously, is explained in this movie so subtly. Actually, when we blame main stream Bollywood for churning out bloody crappy movies with nepo so called stars, we should blame ourselves. Movies like "Chalo Dilli" do not make money because we don't watch them in theaters. Hence, such movies are not made with actual and natural actors like Vinay Pathak. Some more legendary classics, all of them did not get the monetary appreciation they deserved. Khosla ka Ghosla Dhol Oey Lucky! Lucky Oey! Please add more classics that you think deserved more in the comments.
Bollywood though produces much shit very often, but once in a while we get beautiful movies too. But due to audience recognition such kind of offbeat movies are rarely made in bollywood. Still there will be a long list.

"Chalo Dilli" is a movie-cum-reflection of our daily life incidents. We experience an adversarial atmosphere surrounding us, a fight between tradition and modernity every now and then. This movie to me is a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Vinay Phatak playing a character of a traditional man who has no inferiority complex being that way. On the other hand Lara Dutta being casted as a modern and glamorous character showing a sense of superiority over her counterpart. At last their journey and dialogue lead them to a middle way, i.e. of recognition and respect.

Wonderful! Undoubtedly Vinay Pathak's best movie till date. The only thing is, there's no AC class in metre gauge trains in India. So, the train they caught in the morning after leaving the dhaba from Rajasthan to reach Delhi wouldn't have any AC class for which Mihika was buying the ticket. Also, they shot the train journey on different trains having different locos, which broke the continuity of the scene. That's probably the only technical fault. Otherwise, a fantastic movie to enjoy.
