  • Tim van Elderen (16) plays Georg Böhm's Vater Unser in Himmelreich live in a concert at St.Bavo's in Aardenburg (31rst of August 2024).

A charming piece that I haven't come across before. Off to find the sheet music ... 😁

@@dougalderdice6796 You really did not know it?! It is played at about half of all organ concerts around here! The sheet music is on IMSLP!

Hello Tim from the godforsaken Texas Serengeti again. Just curious, where is this delightful little instrument located? I’m guessing it’s not in your house as you’ve shown your electronic gear before. Is it in one of the churches you play for?

@@bobbyhendley3084 The organ is in the St.Baafskerk in Aardenburg, Netherlands (just half an hour away on the bike from where I live when not at uni). I have not played a service there in a long time, but am still on retainer and play an annual concert in their international Bach series (this piece is from that)!

@@TimvanElderen I haven’t played in Bohm in ages, but it’s always very nice music. And very useable as service music in church. Great job.

@@bobbyhendley3084 It is indeed such beautiful music! I have never played it during a service though… never had the right time or organ

@@TimvanElderen Sometimes you just have to use the organ you’ve got, choose the stops as carefully as possible, and let your playing and expression of the piece make it the right time. Meanwhile, you will have opened some hearts and souls to music and beauty they had never known before. Thats our role, to open and change hearts. Even when it’s just the way we play a hymn. That’s how we open people more fully to the infinite wonder of God. Play always from that perspective and you too will be changed by your own music.
