This is not MPPT or PWM, it's not even a basic linear voltage regulator, there is no over voltage protection or current limiting, so all you've made is a variable resistance that gets hot.
All of you shouting it's a simple voltage regulator, if this is connected to let's say a BMS-ed 18650 battery pack will it still damage the cells? I have a 4S12P 18650 Battery pack that I modded with a 4S40A BMS, will I have any issues if I connect it to these circuit and my 190W Solar panel?

This is MPPT. Just manual, that's all. When he turns the knob he can choke current flow to maintain solar panel voltage at MPP. Buck converters are used in commercial models that do the same thing by varying the duty cycle of power converter coils.
A simple voltage regulator or actually a pwm charge controller that waste the excess volts as heat and not an mppt charge controller that converts excess volts to Ampere
It's a constant current buck converter. It can be use as battery charger. Poor thing is that there is no indicator to know that if the battery is full charge or not.
This is NOT a MPPT controller, no inductors. All you did is set up a voltage divider with the POT and feed that voltage to MOSFETs. This is a linear regulator.
Hi, I need to make a charger that can help me charge a lithium battery pack, please help me do that, because I only received one that can charge more than 30 pieces.
There is no clocksource to switch the Mosfets, so it's not even a PWM controller. Let alone MPPT. It's pure anolog/lineair voltage regulation. The huge heatsink is needed to soak up the high power loss due to voltage difference. Video is meant for the clicks, not to educate anyone. Don't build this, it's useless.
@@homemade_101 I said very nice your project. however if you change the input you change the output value too. as we know that the solar panel has varied voltage.
Using a potentiometer is just asking for trouble unless you have a very small solar system if you have any type of solar panels that are over 100 watts like myself a potentiometer is not what you'd want to put in your circuit.

Yes exactly. He just built a totally analog voltage regulator. With 3 parallal mosfets. It's not even PWM, let alone a MPPT. Which is why it needs a huge heatsink to dissipate the power loss due to voltage difference. Video is meant to make him money, not to educate anyone.
I did the same with a potmeter and a BC547 to adjust a led bulb from 9-12v battery. It is a manual MPPT regulator so you can see how much 'A' the solar panel supplies and if it is too much you turn it down
Hi Jaobhn2 - I did the same with 2n2222 and a 18V Dewalt 1.5Ah battery pack to drive a 12V LED Cob Strip for my work bench lights. I run the LED at 11V drawing just 0.035mA So the battery pack lasts a week or more in 5 or 6 hr uses. No I do not have the Dewalt Drill or charger, So made a variable Charger from a 240V AC to 30V AC transformer using old TV parts.

Então o dia começa a escurecer. O painel fornece cada vez menos. O step down, sai e entra o step up, para aproveitar o resto do Sol.

This is wasteful and *not* MPPT at all. You just heat off your excess voltage, a real MPPT would use over 90% of the available power to charge your battery, finding the optimal panel voltage and load amperage to get the maximum power output from the solar cells, then converting it to the required charge voltage via buck/boost.
