  • DIY charge controller for solar panel, MPPT solar charge controller homemade. ( How to make solar charge controller at home )
    👉 This Circuit is a solar charge controller 12v/24v 10A. You can be adjusting the voltage of come solar panel using 47K potentiometer. maxim output current is 50A but using large heat sink. I recommend using irf450N.
    ☀ MPPT is a technology used in solar charge controllers that maximizes the power output of a solar panel by adjusting the voltage and current. It is a more efficient charging method than PWM (Pulse Width Modulation), as it allows for higher voltage and current inputs, resulting in more power being delivered to the batteries. DIY charge controller for Solar Panel.
    Components used in this project :-
    1. Irfz44n mosfet x3, ( I recommend using irf450N )
    2. 47K Pot
    3. 10A Diode
    4. 25A Fuse
    5. Digital Voltmeter

    This is a PWM and voltage regulator which will completely destroy your battery. Anything with a higher voltage can charge a smaller voltage. It only regulates V, and not A.

    This is MPPT. Just manual, that's all. When he turns the knob he can choke current flow to maintain solar panel voltage at MPP. Buck converters are used in commercial models that do the same thing by varying the duty cycle of power converter coils.

    I did the same with a potmeter and a BC547 to adjust a led bulb from 9-12v battery. It is a manual MPPT regulator so you can see how much 'A' the solar panel supplies and if it is too much you turn it down

I run the LED at 11V drawing just 0.035mA So the battery pack lasts a week or more in 5 or 6 hr uses. No I do not have the Dewalt Drill or charger, So made a variable Charger from a 240V AC to 30V AC transformer using old TV parts.

  • @uksuperrascal
    @uksuperrascal Год назад +3

    @ 3:53 You show solar panel with 12V to 60V - Measured shows 17.26V But what Wattage reading is taken from your panel information? And it is best to cut that by 1/3 to average the day light Watts - next your test is with a 22 Watt 12V lamp = max I = 22W / 12V = 1.833Amp, Not a 8 or 9 Amp Load ? - When charging a 12V Car Battery the Battery will take as many Amps as it can get to charge as fast as it can and the charge Amps dropping as the charge accumulates in the cells - So adding a Current controller to your Voltage controller circuit to limit the current would be a good idea to control the in rush current demand to the solar panel when connecting to a flat battery.

    Gracias por compartir! Vi en la descripción que se necesita un gran disipador. Por hende, se desprende que buena parte de la energía solar recolectada la perderás. Es por ello que sería interesante recurrir a un regulador de conmutación implementado con una fuente step up.

      Sim! uma boa parte é transformada em calor. Mas pense assim: Cedo o painel não produz. Mas ao clarear, aos poucos, consegue-se uma tensão maior. Se for válida, um step up, vai fornecer a voltagem, para carregar a bateria. Aí chega um momento em que o painel produz mais e o step up, deixa de ser útil, seria a hora de usar um step down. Então o dia começa a escurecer. O painel fornece cada vez menos. O step down, sai e entra o step up, para aproveitar o resto do Sol.

    There is no clocksource to switch the Mosfets, so it's not even a PWM controller. Let alone MPPT. It's pure anolog/lineair voltage regulation. The huge heatsink is needed to soak up the high power loss due to voltage difference. Video is meant for the clicks, not to educate anyone. Don't build this, it's useless.

    This is wasteful and *not* MPPT at all. You just heat off your excess voltage, a real MPPT would use over 90% of the available power to charge your battery, finding the optimal panel voltage and load amperage to get the maximum power output from the solar cells, then converting it to the required charge voltage via buck/boost.
