  • I'm fed up of all this lot. Alice Perkins is fed up and totally disinterested at the Post Office Inquiry.
As she is being questioned by Angela Patrick KC she is fed up and totally disinterested and gives the impression that she would rather be anywhere else than at the inquiry having to defend her reasons for locking people up.
But what else would you expect from people who were only too keen to lock said innocents up?
They were rubbish at their job and gave thanks at the Horizon system altar and still believe to this day that the Horizon system was an all singing and dancing deity as opposed to a thrown together system with dodgy software installed

Imagine, at your place of work, some money goes missing. You get blamed. If you deny it you are threatened with court resulting in prison. Or if you admit it you just get a suspended sentence or community punishment. So to avoid prison you admit guilt. Over and done with you think. Then your company sues you for court costs because you were found guilty, you owe £350,000 in court costs. Your life ruined. This company is called the Post Office. Their logo is " whatever you need us for, we're here for you". They spent £100 million in expensive lawers to try to avoid paying £58 million in compensation. The class action saw the incorrectly convicted see £20,000 in compensation after court costs. The executive salaries were between £250,000 and £500,000. Post Office investigators were given bonuses for every Horizon conviction

Unfortunately they can't say that. It would be seen as prejudging her without the benefit of a fair trial (something which every convicted SPM was, in effect, denied) and sadly this is an inquiry. Alice Perkins would do well to remember that repeatedly declaring "I am an honest person" will not magically transform her into one. Her failure to care enough to ask the right questions and her indifference (then and now) to the hellish plight of the SPMs renders her, in my eyes, both inhuman and inhumane.

Unfortunately, intelligence allied with arrogance, greed and a craven eye for self-preservation and the outcome is likely what we see in Alice Perkins. She has a most unfortunate manner about her. A rather crude analogy might be to liken her to a well-polished t*rd of the type that hopes to slip out swiftly, fully intact, leaving no marks behind, and all the while smelling of roses.
