That Blizzard from Tentacruel was what the Plasma needed to regain control, but the Magma's insane physical bulk brought them the victory today. Congrats Magma, to ending your losing streak!
This is the second time they've been able to topple a top team, which then led to this losing streak. Hopefully, it is not a glimpse of potential before another losing streak ensues.
Spoilers: That Blizzard hitting both opponents was great, but the Magmas brought too good of a game plan. Their continual sleep moves show that perhaps they're taking inspiration from the grass or ghost types, and then they took inspiration from Toxtricity by transforming into it and using its interesting set of defenses to make Krookidile all the harder to take down. Well played, folks. Also Pokémon have clearly finally learned what Fell Stinger does and that makes me happy.
The Magmas were incredibly prepared for this match. Which is not the first time we've seen them have such a good showing against stronger sides. They just need more of this sort of intensity going forward to shake the very foundations of the league. It's almost as if they're learning the best way to play, and we are all here for that sort of entertainment.
I really thought the Plasma would reverse it by the end there, but the way they got absolutely destroyed at the start of the match was too much for them...
Spoilers: That instant Glimmora elimination was crucial by Swampert, preventing the Toxic Debris from being scattered around the Magmas. Good on Toxtricity to avoid it though, otherwise the match would be over before it began. Unfortunately, Magmas kept bringing it. The sleeping moves did great for the Magmas to keep their lead, preventing the Plasmas from fighting back. They still managed to bring the game down to 0:2 though, so good on them for that. That said, Viridian Magmas held their *ground* (pardon the pun) and rushed down the Virbank Plasmas, letting them get the win.
It would seem that teams have figured out the best way to first approach the Plasma, and that's clearing out the Toxic Debris as quickly and efficiently as possible. But knowing that the Plasma have the right kind of depth to their roster, the Magma kept flowing over with the gameplay for the W. We always welcome a good pun.

All the yawning and sleeping just about made me fall asleep during the match. 😴
All prepped and ready for some Dream Eating.

They really almost did. And without all those sleep tactics, they may have been able to work their way back, too.
