Good, instructive video. I seem to have become fascinated enough by the disgusting bugs to consider a tarantula pet. The knowledge behind biology, ethology and ecology is quite inspiring.
Hey man my millipede was suffering in the end. Barely moving and was curled up. I made sure it wasnt a mold so i had to put her in the freezer ao she wouldnt suffer :(. But thanks for the help anyways.
I’m very sorry to hear that man ☹️ It’s hard losing any pet, especially something like a Giant African Millipede. You did the right thing by putting her out of her misery. It’s not a problem at all. I’m always happy to help out. I hope you a great day and hope you feel better man. Sorry again for your loss :(
Perfect little video about the species and the setup. But as a new owner or someone who's interested in Theraphosa you should be very careful handling these guys. The urticating hairs are pretty much the worst in all of the tarantula species. Otherwise Theraphosa are amazing and very chill animals. If you're interested, you should really check them out
Just once, but it was by accident while doing maintenance on my Mexican Redknee Tarantula’s enclosure 😅 It wasn’t too bad. I washed my hand off with water and the majority of the hairs were able to wash away with ease
At the time of recording this video over 5 months ago, I was always under the impression that small tarantulas could “drown,” which is something that I heard many tarantula hobbyists say time and time again. However, I know now that tarantulas are buoyant and will float on the surface of the water. Still growing and learning lol
@@kelvinwiley Bro I’m starting to think that the drowning theory is a myth. This is my experience. I had a Gramostolla Pulchripes sling (Eggs with legs). I went on a 5 day trip and came back only to find it lying in the water dish floating motionless. I was devastated. I picked it up with a spoon and put it down on the substrate. And guess what, it started moving. And now it’s a strong 2 inch sling.
Same bro! I believed it for so long up until recently. I haven’t heard of any tarantula deaths personally from drowning. But I’m glad you were able to experience it firsthand and that your tarantula survived from it!
That was a great video! It's interesting to see how some animals use their hair as a defense mechanism. You did a great job explaining the differences between new-world and old-world tarantulas. I can pass on the feeding part. I know it's natural, but I prefer not to watch it!
Thank you so much! I greatly appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed the video and the information I provided with it! 😄 I completely understand about not wanting to see the feeding part lol! 😅

Got mine today! I love her
Very interesting that the females live so much longer than the males. The spider is gorgeous!
Thank you for appreciating her beauty! 😄
It's the same with humans 😜
Thats pretty normal
Wow great video.. I learned a lot thanks
No problem! I appreciate that! 😄

Kelvin could handle a sea urchin if he wanted to, no faith man…
Thank you, I’m considering getting a Theraphosa blondie but still not totally sure yet, definitely a very intimidating species.
I appreciate that you enjoyed my setup video! And yes, I completely agree about how irritating and severe their urticating hairs are
@@kelvinwiley as someone who takes insect stings for educational purposes, you ever been haired by any species of tarantula?

bro insest room tower video please upload bro
Why are you handling those black widows?
Lets go❤
😄
I literally had no idea you could handle these 🤡 I’ve had mine a year but I always thought they were aggressive and the hairs would suck
Are there confirmed cases of tarantulas drowning to death in water dishes?
Why do you ask tho?
@@AdhvaithSane because I would like to know.
