I went to the most exclusive watch showroom in Dubai (maybe in the world) and got to see their incredible $300,000,000 watch collection. no these sales reps are actually terrible. These prices are terrible, that AP looked terrible on his wrist, and any actual watch enthusiast would throw up at the thought of him spending a million dollars on that custom astronomia. Unless he lied about the price, which I think he did, Jacob wouldn't do someone that dirty, not even someone this ignorant.
@@swolejohn8658 Jacobs are so overrated. Besides the Rolexes,Pateks and APs that weren't poked with holes it was mostly overpriced jewelry that maybe tells time or toy watches.
Couldn't disagree more. The male came off as a perfectly coiffed cutout with no actual soul, sorta like a young Gavin Newsom. His demeaner was way too serious, like he were talking about an upcoming surgery or a pending indictment. The asian chick knows precisely little about watches, she is there to attract wealthy Chinese buyers. Very little joy in their eyes when talking about watches. All three are obviously new money, hanging out in a garish suite owned by a sheik who, 50 years ago, lived in a tent.
Not many people are gonna let you hold a $6 million watch and it’s disrespectful to just drop it like that.
The woman and the salesman were very polite and cool!

prices are way way off current market value it is just insane… e.g. the khaki aquanaut (5168G) goes for 85-90k USD NEW right now on secondary market and the 160.000 they claim was the peak of the market in spring 2022…

RM is for pretentious, spoiled kids who mostly have mommy and daddy buying them toys. Now, that PP with the handmade carving on the case is a wealthy man's watch. Either the Celestial Skymoon, the Calendar or of course,the multi million dollar Grandmaster Chime. That one broke records at auction. AP, PP,VC, Rolex,Lange and Sohne are what impress.

I have some issues with this, not sure if it was an private collection, so you have to be a true passionate watch collector. But then I wonder where are $20 and $200 dollar watches? There are some incredibly great pieces for under $500. So then if you don't, it might be because you're investing in it. Well the watch market has been plummeting for at least 20%, so what is it?
In my humble opinion if you aren't a watch collector and you aren't investing in watches, I can come up with 1000 business ideas to execute right now and put that 300 million to work. It will create jobs and opportunities which better the communities, and lives of many people. The ROI will be greater over time.
Carl has his own Jacob&co custom watch. This is different, it symbolize his vision and succes. His Patek is just a beautiful watch, so apart from the utility aspect, there is the aspect of emotional value. I think you can have a 10 watch collection which are stunning, and it covers all aspects such as celebrating your first success, usually a Rolex, your dream watch, something very beautiful and some other pieces because you just like it. It could be worth tops 10 million.
But a suitcase full of Richard Mille's, some are nice and special, but it's a hefty price tag, to buy the entire collection.. well for what? The only guy laughing is Richard Mille.

@@tanglunglung8100 no! Just can’t be bothered to own 300,000,000 worth of watches. I’ve got 3 expensive watches, thanks to Carl in a way… but I mostly wear my $100 Nixon watch. Because it’s an utility. Just like my car. I moved to live on a tropical island. What good is it to have a Lamborghini? You’ll be mostly in traffic and the potholes literally destroys your car after a couple hundred meters. But it does make sense to have a car. So I bought an old Range Rover. So when I need to pick up my mates or family members I can pick them up in relative comfort and the AC on and I like the car, could I get a brand new Range Rover? Sure but what for? To have more stress and worries? I have a villa without a pool. Because I don’t need a pool. I’m surfing 4 to 6 hours a day. Last thing I want is to jump in the pool. Is that being jealous for the people who has a pool? No it’s nonsense.
There is a guy on the island with a brand new Lamborghini Aventador SV. It barely fits in a lane. He can’t park properly. And most of the time he just driving mostly 20 km/h. I’m faster on my bicycle on the island that he will ever be with all the traffic.
I would love to get a Ferrari f12. But if I have one I truly want to drive it. Through the mountains of Switzerland and Italy. And floor it because I can. It to just parade with it to show off.
The median wage is $350 USD why should I attract unnecessary attention with a Lamborghini and a 3 million dollar watch? It will be different if I were to live in Dubai. But I can’t be bothered to live there.
Not everyone with money has the same priorities.
