Just because they decided on a lower speed and to stick together as a tight hunting group doesn’t mean these women are less capable than men. They just like to play a little less cluttered until the the end.

I don’t mean to down the women. But I find it very interesting how the best professional ranked women in any sport couldn’t beat the worst professional ranked man. It’s just interesting to watch the differences back to back like I just did. (I came from 15,000m men skating video)
it also depends on the overall peformance of the group. There is an element of strategy, its not always just go as fast as you can for as long as you can. This race was a lot slower than the mens, there seems to be more tactical racing instead of just wearing everyone out as the men did.
There is a ton of literature about this. You can read about testosterone, muscles, metabolism and so on but it is not completely true what you write. Women have less strength which make them comparatively worst at most sports but when you get into extreme endurance they do just as well or even better then men. Open water swimming, ultramarathons, anything hugely long, that's the place to watch to see women beat men in pure performance. Lake Saroma 100k running was won at least one time (overall) by a woman, the most Channel crossings are of a woman, Alfonsina Strada some 100 years ago raced some 4000 Km stage cycling race not too far away from the men. Then, of course, there is the ultimate sport of simply staying alive and they do way better (live longer) than men... As soon as you get into power, lactate, muscles, they are unlikely to dominate men field. Ah, telling this not because I am a feminist sympathizer or anything like that. Just I always found interesting sport physiology, that's all.

Excuse me? This either is rollerblading or inline skating. But NOT speedskating! Speedskating is definitely on skates, those knives (blades) with a shoe attatched and a hinging mechanism for the clapping of the blade. THIS IS NOT SPEEDSKATING!!! 😄
