Whole Indian mechanical engineers are one side and SK Som is on other side.... Unmatchable Legend. #IndianWalterLewin

Finally completed fluid machines after completing fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Compressible flow and heat transfer courses left.

@nptelhrd while solving for the stage pressure ratio professor have taken beta 2 as 10 degree but in whole question no where it is written beta 2 is 10 degree ... from where it came????

    In second problem w/m = uVf(tanB1-tanB2) refer at 14:22
    , rest is ok

WHY BETA 2 IS EQUAL 10 DEGREES??
    AT 8:43

      Misprint in question
      take beta2 as 10 degrees
bcoz alpha1 = alpha2 and beta1=beta2 along with same vf and u makes no sense (Velocity triangles are identical or W is zero)

In first question for finding pressure ratio the formula used has T01 in denominator but you have used T1.you must add ci^2/2cp to T1 to convert to T01.then its correct.can you please confirm me as soon as possible.

No it has written that inlet temp is 300k not stagnation temp.. Question can write anyway they want not necessary to write T(1k) always.. Depends on person

can some tell in second problem how Tan Beta(2) - tan Beta(1) is equal to 0.67
Also which text book the professor is following

      I think i might be late....but using the eqn. of w/m = uv(f) (tan beeta 2 - tan beeta 1 ) .......In the above eqn..we know every othee thing..so we can get ( tan beeta2 - tan beeta 1 )

Where is U while calculating tan(beta)1+tan(beta)2 using degree of rxn formula it should be
    Vf/2U(tan(beta)1+tan(beta)2)
    Time 16:24

put the values of U and vf in the formula. rest you will understand
