The stingspawns are my favorite. I like that they're small and swarm, like mosquitos or flies- we don't get small machines like that so it was fun to see something completely new.
When Aloy says, “I don’t know what’s worse, the Bilegut or the Stingspawns!?” My response was, “Oh definitely the Stingspawn!”
Bilegut for sure.
It's worth noting that if you hit a Stingspawn with a shock arrow, it will overload and explode, taking out any other Stingspawn in the area. Useful in taking out large groups of them in one or two hits
Apparently the Bilegut's tongue attack can also sometimes steal some of your supplies 🤡 Idk what it took but I didn't wanna lose any Brimshine so I just turned the game off after I saw Aloy react to her supplies being taken lol
Id love to learn more about this but having a hard time finding anything about it. I also heard Aloy saying supplies were stolen, but what supplies and how many? Enough to panic or like 5 ridge woods? And after you kill the Bilegut do you find those stolen supplies in the loot?

Interesting seeing a kind of machine symbiosis in the form of bileguts and stingspawns being added to the game. I don't think I've seen symbiosis that deep before. Watchers/predator type machines and herbivores come to mind but they mostly act as a sort of bodyguard mechanic. This is the first time I've seen both machines benefiting each other (one is still a bodyguard but the other also gathers resources for the bilegut).
I was expecting a bit more machines from this DLC

I thibk I liked frozen wilds a lot better and the story is also pretty weak compared to frozen wilds, not to mention the rushed and forced romance...
i think they blew all their budget on the Horus
Well, you can’t complain because the hours is literally the hardest challenge and strongest boss. And it prob took a lot of time and money to make it

You're not alone here. Waterwing could have been a variety of the Sunwing, if we're honest. Stingspawn could have been mentioned within the Bilegut data as an addition. I expected the horus' all clearly on the Forbidden West map to be revived as well.
I also think the machine placements are a little off, I miss machine sites like from Frozen Wilds, where you had up to four Scorchers, a few Frostclaws, Fireclaws etc.
@TheTastyMarmot mentioned the possibility they blew their budget on the Horus and I fully agree plus on the graphics (upgrade).
Kinda weird the Zenith Defence Drone doesn't count as a new machine even though Control Towers in Frozen Wilds did.

I think,the Horus fight was the reason why this expansion could not be played on a PS4 (pro). This series btw,was MY ONLY reason to get a PS5. This is a game I wish it would never end! But....all good things come to an end.
So we have seagull, sort of bee, frog, and old gigantic machine boss. In HZD, dlc had angry fire dog, ice bear, powerful fire bear, and tower.
in my opinion, i think Guerrilla was a little too excited for the Horus. I dont think they should have revealed it straight up in the trailer. Maybe like hint at something big coming to get us amped and then have us fight the thing. I think it kinda set our expectations too high for what we got. Thats not to say Im disappointed with the DLC. I had a lot of fun playing it. I would have liked more machines but its not a huge drawback. And the romance, while it is rushed, I still like it.
The bilegut is like the Oggdo Bogdo of this expansion
In the concept art for the Horus, the space between the head and the legs housed a deathbringer, i would've loved to go up against that

What I think will happen,
Massive Zeneith machines from NEMESIS will have Aloy stumped as its shielded and marching towards Meridian, then Aloy goes back to her birthplace, climbs through some terrain to reach the Horus above mother's Watch and she overrides its core to control it to fight the Zeneith machine
Along with some other stroy line maybe before doing a few thing protecting villages then they go to their base and see that nemesis is almost there

i feel like waterwing is more of a pterodaustro inspired machine, since the build of the body is that of a pterosaur kind and not the bird kind

@connor_black7 it’s most likely because you have started a rebel camp without finishing it. You’ll need to go to the camp and find and kill the leader.
i had that too but only if a quest was active, after i deactivated it i was able to use the timeskip again.
Thats because its a part of the quest or main quests your doing. Finish the quest to fix it
I was hoping for something awesome looking but what do I get ...some flies and a frog .....we need more insects, arachnids representation...imagine, centipede like machine, praying mantis robots...would be so cool..
You also get a big Gaint Titan to fight and they are saving other insects for the next game

These new machines are very disappointing imo, a swarm of flies and a big frog? Plus a reskin of the Sunwing and a Horus (that is a one time boss fight). I was hoping for something a little unique like a spider-like machine, or some kind of marine creature design.

To be honest, I expected more from this DLC. It's just too small even compared to frozen wilds (which was also released faster). I don't say it's a bad dlc by any means (well, maybe except for rushed lgbt stuff), but it's just too short. It took me literally 10 times less time to complete than forbidden west.

BRUH aloy took a horus down with a bow and arrows and the old ones couldnt even kill then with advanced weaponary thats the biggest joke if hear tbh the old ones took a huge L😂😂😂😂
I just finished, and they worked hard to need the Horus.
That's a powered down Horus. A normal Horus spawns other machines and there were thousands of them. It's a walking city.

Only 1 actual new machine was really lazy the theta cauldron is a waste of time it's not like they added it in the main none dlc map.
Over priced dlc considering how short it is I have no reason to replay it.
The first games dlc was way better
Completing everything in burning shores takes about 15 hours. That about the same as the DLC of the first game. It’s worth the 20$ in my opinion.

Very disappointing it’s just holding main game content back easily could of had those thre machine in the base game and worked on new designs but i garentee they just held off some content very lack lustre addition a year later other then the final boss fight forbidden west as a whole just wasn’t as good as zero dawn too me and this dlc didn’t help much
Have to say but this makes me hate horizon creators even more for not putting the dlc on ps4. 🫠
