A lot of progress has been made but I'm seeing some backlash from the gay pride movement and a lot of people think we are forcing lgbt on them. I'm starting to wonder if we'd be better off without Pride Month.😕

Whenever I have ignorant people tell me that seeing two guys holding hands in public is shoving our gayness down their throats, I simply tell them, “you mean how every movie, tv show, magazine ad, greeting card, etc. has always been straight, which following your logic means y’all have been shoving your straightness down our throats nonstop and from every possible direction.”
Also, when they ask “why do you have Pride? There’s no straight Pride!” I rebut, “well we haven’t ever oppressed straight people, so why would you need to reclaim your Pride since you’ve never lost it…and growing through my late teens and early 20s, I saw straight people spreading lies and misinformation about HIV, many of which resulted in a ton of embarrassment and shame. So us reclaiming our Pride is because straight people stole it from us. You asked why, you’d better be ready for a response from me.”
PS - When gay men were dying left and right from AIDS, some docs and nurses refused to treat them…and one demographic stood up and filled their shoes. Who? The lesbian community did, lesbian nurses and doctors came out in droves to support our gay compatriots. 😁🤙🏽

Because let's be honest, people say pride month is necessary because being gay is illegal in many countries blah blah blah. I'm from one of those countries btw. And pride month literally doesn't do anything for me and even for people in the US. So they should stop dragging us just to shake their @ss because partying is the only thing they care about.

I'm 43 and gay and I was almost brought to tears watching the relationship you guys have. You have no idea how lucky you are to have an amazing sweet/confident/loving str8 friend like that. I couldnot even hope to have that at your age which was like just twenty something years ago. I hope this is how it is normally with kids of your generation but regardless of if it is or isn't. I felt the need to praise him for it.

Just admit that hetero dudes are insecure and want to avoid being called out or catching someone catching them. In all true honesty it really isnt that bad to be attractive and be stared at or looked at. If anything whoever is checking out the junk and gets busted but not called out is the vunerable one. The hetero isnt required to do anything anyway. The eyes caught checking you out are not your eyes. Those eyes belong to that person so you can't tell that person what he/she can look at.

From my experience straight guys who have gay friends are on a completely different planet mentally from other straight guys who don't have any gay friends ... your friend's brain has already been rewired through your friendship to be open-minded... you would be surprised how different answer would have been if this questions were exchanged between two straight guys!

My high school years were a nightmare. I am happy you can just be you and have few worries. If you only knew how being gay in the early 80’s was compared to now was. I HIGHLY recommend using a shower head filter and wash your face with just
warm water to open the pores, then rinse with cold. Your skin may breakout for a couple weeks but that's just your body detoxifying itself from all the harsh chemicals you've used. Been washing my face with just water for 5+ years and I really only breakout now when I'm stressed / behind on sleep, my skin feels amazing! Also drink lots of water!! The greatest thing ever for your body.

Many people don't even realize that homophobia, misogyny, racism, transphobia, classism, etc., all are one in the same. They were all set up to keep people separated, so only a few people had true social power. Unfortunately though, it is an unsustainable social model because humans have always depended on random, essential skills and strengths of individuals. When we value, educate and invest resources in everyone, we don't eradicate the hidden gems that may cure cancer or slow down the environmental crisis, etc. We have always needed each other to survive and we always will.

I follow this account just because Cris is such a nice guy and I love his friend! He is so clumsy and himself! He is who he is. As I am older (36) I feel like I have seen Cris mature a but. Always stay true to yourself. Focus on your own ideas, people are liking you for who you are!!!!! and btw buddy u should be able to afford gas to have a little AC in your car! I wish that when I was younger I could have been out like you. I have been removed from placed or had best friends tell me they could no longer be friends with me. When I finally found someone I lost him to suicide which you know is big in our community. Your comment about taking Calvin to a gay bar reminded me of my college roommate who would routinely go to the gay bars with me back in the early 70s. There were always straight women who went to gay bars back then - some because they had gay friends and felt safe in a gay bar. Others, however, went because they had a certain obsession with getting a gay man to sleep with them. We called those women fruit flies. Rick said he scored more in gay bars than he ever did in the straight clubs near campus. He would do the whole "I'm so confused about my sexual identity" spiel to any woman who hit on him. He got laid way more than I did.

Cali is FANTASTIC. HE is the type guy I wish I had lived beside, or nearby, and we had grown up virtual soul mates until the day we died -- even though we would have been "opposites." He is handsome, funny, kind, (That's the most I've laughed and felt GOOD about life in general in at least two weeks.) And I hope he does NOT take offense by this, but he is cute, tall, sexy, has beautiful eyes, an unbelievable sense of humor and a great sense of decency and kindness and caring. I kept losing it when he seemed to be "trying to adjust his seat" -- like he could have REALLY USED SOME HELP FROM HIS FRIENST -------- hrmphhh -- hrmphhhh, etc.....but received none so eventually he just "adjusted himself" and moved on. I would love to just share hours with him eating, drinking, talking, joking and being in the presence of his "greatness." Cali -- you're something else -- and it's ALL GREAT!!
