When I was a little girl, I lived in Singapore. We lived on a very small island off the harbour of Singapore called Pula Brahni. My father was in the Water Transport Division of Royal Army Service Corps. He was Captain of a Landing Craft ship. I have been to Raffles many times as we lived in Singapore for 3 and half years. I was 9 when we were posted back to Portsmouth. All this place you see now was old godowns (warehouses and exporters / importers) and quite a run down area. We used to catch little sanpans (tiny boats) over to Pula Brahni when coming back from shopping etc in Singapore shopping. Did you go to Orchard Street? Really huge market and street food stalls etc there. Really enjoyed your Vlog! Can't wait for you to do Hong Kong, because I lived there too October 1967 to January 1970.
Great video with great tips! We went there as part of our honeymoon 36 years ago. It's changed so much since then although a lot remains the same. I'll never forget having a Singapore Gin Sling in Raffles. Hopefully we will return.
Thanks for watching Angela. Gosh, I should think the only recognisable thing remaining in 36 years is Raffles! Definitely worth a return visit, although the differences may surprise you! :D
Welcome to Singapore! Love your lovely professional video production. And, your calm posh British accent & humour! If you’re back again, and want a local “guide”. Holler, I’m happy to show you guys around (for free).
Many thanks for this, we have Singapore on our "possible list" for a future cruise and this was a good insight into what you can see even in one day. We're thinking of a couple of days either pre or post cruise.
Thanks for watching Philip. Yes, we'd certainly use Singapore as an embarkation port for future cruises. And what a lovely way to spend a couple of days before the cruise too! :)
You should! We fully intend to as soon as we can! Thanks for watching. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already as we've got a ton of new content coming very soon. :)
Yet again another great upload of a superb city, my home away from home. I am lucky to be married to a Singaporean, when we stay we live like the locals north of the island in Yishun. You were spot on with the 10 choices, take in Sentosa and make it 11. We used to take the Star Cruise Virgo, Leo and Gemini up the Malacca Strait to Phuket 20 years ago, lots of fun. We also cruised on the Sun Vista just a few months before she caught fire and sank near Penang. Good music at the end, a modern version of Ruichi Sakamoto's Forbiden Colours.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment Alexis. Much appreciated. We can't wait to go back either. I hope you consider subscribing as we've got a lot more to come very soon! :D
Super fantastic video as always. I must say I was very surprised by how much English I saw. That makes things easier. That infinity pool looks reason enough to go.😀 Thank you for sharing.
I just sort of did Singapore - I planned my trip meticulously - LHR - SIN business class arriving at SIN at 07:30 - perfect- sleep on a lie flat bed, 2 days to take in SIN - BUT you were doing this I guess at sea speed - I was genuinely smacked in the face by the humidity and the jet lag (LHR - SIN + 7 hrs). In two days I managed very little tbh - I’m gutted but I was done for. I did manage dinner at Lavo at the top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel which was fantastic but in general if you are arriving by air long haul be prepared for the fact your body may not let you do it all
When I moved there (1977) it took me about a week to get over the jet lag as we had a toddler in tow whose clock stayed on UK time for ages! I've only been back once, in 1990, and would love to go again.
First !! Hi Rich, Happy Sunday and Happy Christmas. (Luxury Travel Expert) has an hour long video on Marina Bay Sands. Fantabulous ! Have you ever seen the video where they show how they built the Marina Bay Sands? Mind Blowing ! Hope all is well.
So do we! Hopefully we'll go back soon and do another video. So much to see and do! :D Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Please consider subscribing? :)
Very tastefully done, reminding me of what i'm missing as i'm about to visit for the fifth time. It is a a city and island full of superlatives and as you acknowledge, there is a lot you hadn't time to visit. All i can do is appeal to any one who has the opportunity to explore this place to do so. I've convinced friends to do so and they've all been amazed. Thanks again
It's from an orchestral soundtrack composed by award-winning Singaporean producer, Kenn C (facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1346123858770704&id=124954387554330). The title of music is Forbidden Colour by Ryuichi Sakamoto ruclips.net/video/kf0HYeQp760/видео.html
Kuching attractions are Bako national park, Darul Hana Bridge, Kuching waterfront, Damai Beach Resort, Tasik Biru, Wind cave, Siniawan Old Town night market, Annah Rais Hotspring and Borneo highland.
Okay, you’ve peaked my curiosity. Who is the blond female who was first seen while seated on the Metro train and then appears in many, if not most of the subsequent scenes in the video? Very well done video by the way. It’s quite interesting and informative with high quality videography...thanks for sharing...
It's the sound of angels doing ASMR gently into your ear. ;) Seriously, I'm sorry, I can't remember! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you consider subscribing. :D

Fabulous city.
I just returned on Monday.
haha - Gotta love the rave music during the Marina Mall segment :-) Nice video, honestly. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you 😊
And thanks for watching 👍

Good job! Singapore is a good place to spend a day, a week, or a month.
Another great video. Singapore is on my list and while I was aware of a few of these places, there are now a couple of new ones on the list! Thanks!
Welcome to Singapore!

Aww, thank you so much Crosby. We'll certainly make a note of that kind offer. :)

Thanks for bringing back lots of memories of Singapore. One of my favourite places, and I’m sure - honestly! - that one day I’ll go back.

Thanks for your comments Mark. And the comment above was wondering what that music was, so thanks lol!

No worries, almost everyone speaks English in Singapore. It's our first language!
I believe you have to make a reservation to swim there...... check things out b4 you arrive.

Totally true! The humidity is what hits you. It's like going into a bathroom after someone left the hot tap running. :)

Loved the video..... Thanks so much!!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. ☺
Another bucket list Destination only ever seen as far as the airport and that was too long ago doubt if anything would be left

Ah, we'd love to go back Howard. There was SO MUCH more to explore. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you consider subscribing. :D
Yes... we were there in 2018 and very dissapointed to find Raffles Hotel surrounded by hoardings (and very much closed!) )-: Love Singapore though!
I'm sure it was very disappointing David. She was closed for refurb for a very long time.
Loved the video.... as usual. Could you tell me what the haunting music is at the water and light show. Many thanks. Brian

Hi Brian. Thanks for watching! The music is actually recorded live from the water show itself. I don't know the name of it, but it's beautiful!
@@visitwithus wasn't it from Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence?
And to think that, for a stress free day, you could have spent that day at Changi Airport.
Haha! Perhaps not as interesting a video would've been made. :D Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you consider subscribing. :D
Kuching attractions are Bako national park, Darul Hana Bridge, Kuching waterfront, Damai Beach Resort, Tasik Biru, Wind cave, Siniawan Old Town night market, Annah Rais Hotspring and Borneo highland.
Thanks for these recommendations Albert. We'll note them for next time. :)
Now you tell me. I havemt seen any of those.............always best to get the recommended places from an expert.

Hi Ed. Thanks for watching. The 'mystery blonde' subtly appears in quite a few videos of ours... ;)
What is the music at 10:30 ? It's so soothing.
It's the sound of angels doing ASMR gently into your ear. ;) Seriously, I'm sorry, I can't remember! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I hope you consider subscribing. :D
Yo My British Man Can you tell me what the name of the song they sing at the 14:36 ?
Try Kuching the capital of State of Sarawak, Malaysia. The delicious food from Kolo Mee, Sarawak Laksa, Kek Lapis Kompia, Umai to Midin.
Thank you for watching and your recommendations, Albert. Merry Christmas! :)
@@visitwithus Merry Christmas to you too. 🙂
Why did you leave singapore 😭 😭
We don't live there, but it IS a beautiful city. :D
