If the power feed is not engaged, should manual quill adjustment result in the clutch teeth "clicking"?

colin riley I had the same issue. Check that the Feed trip plunger is able to move up and down freely a few mm. If its jammed in the up position the quill feed engagement lever won't be able to lock in. It's the 1/2" plunger that sits behind the bottom section of the ruler. If you have a manual it's part 124 on the J head assembly.

Thanks for the video. I have a Jet , Bridgeport copy. everything turns and work properly other than the engaging. It just won't engage. Any suggestions?
