Honey Bees? Probably live in the wall or the ceiling? Hope you closed back that roof hatch on the "widow's walk"- not that it was sealed well anyway. Wish they would get a good Salvage Company to harvest the best parts of these old houses and repurpose what can be used- especially the stained glass and wood features. Well, actually a lot of that wood could be re-used! Thanks for a great Video!
Love these old houses! I feel the same as you do about them. Wondering about all of the joys, sorrows, fears that lived there throughout the years. Awesome video, thank you for sharing! :)
So glad to see you back to what you do best and you have found someone to go exploring with. This house would have been beautiful in its day, especially with those wonderful stained glass windows. Such a shame it has been left to rot like that, what a waste. I am really looking forward to your next video's of those other abandoned houses you showed us.
This house had to be beautiful when it was a one family home. Not too sure about "residents" living in their two years ago ( 2016) not saying you are wrong, but the poor people must have not lived so well, and that is very sad. It really deteriorated alot in two years! I am not so much into knowing about houses and construction, but do know this fell apart quickly if not already not in such great shape when they allowed people to live there.
Interesting explore! Very cool attic hatch to the roof! I would have had some fun with that, back when it was safe to be up there. That is definitely a classic Victorian Mansion. Probably built in the early to mid 1800's. From the look of the other houses you showed, it was in an upscale neighborhood. I understand why they do it, but I hate to see these Grande Dames of History get subdivided into apartments. It looks like a great area for a local historical society to tuck into. As an aside, I love your southern lilt and think maybe you have the heart of a writer. Maybe you should write.
Great explore but if there lived ppl upto 2016, they really lived in a very bad maintained place, that decay looks 10 years old, cant wit too see the next house, it looks very bad.
This is the kind of house just perfect for the location of a great Victorian Gothic mystery!! All those hidden closets and staircases... Just give me chills!! I love these old homes and would love to see it repaired and restored to its former glory 🏠..
I agree. This jewel just sits and waits. I pass by it quite a bit. I always look out of the corner at my eye at it. I have another video coming soon as I go in the back of the house. I just went in the top.
At 112k I doubt taxes would be high to someone from California where our crappiest, smallest houses go for half a million and by the end of every year, you've paid enough taxes to have put another down payment on it. Advertise this house to more of us. Bet someone will grab it. And with California money, we would have income property and the house would be restored...
Having grown up in the deep south -- I've seen where there are a lot of these old houses that are just being allowed to decay because they are located in area's where there are no jobs available. So, people can't afford to buy these homes and restore them. The commute to work would be too far. The luckiest thing that could happen to one of these old houses is that they are purchased as "historic buildings" by the Chamber of Commerce or the town itself and restored and used for special events or used for Town Hall Meetings. I currently live in Los Angeles, CA, in a house that was built in 1926. It also has the high ceilings and large rooms with huge windows. Ever since I can remember -- I felt that I should have been born at the turn of the century. The type of life that I feel most comfortable in would have been getting to be a young woman at the turn of the century when electricity was discovered and electric lights were introduced. And, when the first automobiles were introduced. I would have loved to have lived as a young woman at that time in our history! This old house that you're exploring would have been home a that I would have grown up in and lived in. I love this beautiful old house! I can only imagine the family that lived in it -- about their lives and the community they lived in? Just the craftsmanship and the attention to detail involved in building one of these old houses -- just shows that back then people who had these skills -- were readily available. Now all of these types of old carpentry skills are no longer taught and no one knows how to do them any more. It no longer exists. You mentioned that the house was valued at $112k ? Is it currently on the market? Just wondering. Thanks for the video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love this old house!
Thank you for sharing. Yes, the house is on the market. As far as living at the turn of the century as a woman, I'm not sure I would enjoyed the hard times. Progressive Woman would have been proud of what their grandchildren have become. We still do not have equal pay and equal respect for women, but hopefully gradually we will get there. Tom
Thank you for a real great tour. I love these old mansions and the story that goes with them. You added to the video by pointing out interesting features about the mansion. It's too bad some much has been done to the mansion to change it.
👋congrats on ur finds! I always want to know about the background of places too 😉 ⚓ welcome aboard Tina! Your Blessed to get to explore with such a sweetheart 😉 4:32-4:35ish. Looking at room across hall, bottom of doorway, on right side of screen=optical illusion= like a person's leg bent at knee 😎 🔥 I've been exploring some yt llive streams & seems like everyone's smoke alarm chirp 🐦 ✌ PEACE ♥ LOVE ♥ BLESSINGS 👼
Awsome stuff buddy, I moved to Knoxville 6 months ago from California and I want to get into exploration myself. So if you want a new friend. I see your from Ga?
Yeah, that sounds promising. Did you mean Knoxville, TN? We could explore together. I would suggest finding me on Facebook and lets talk. My name is Tom Collins.
Decay is headed your way! Yea Knoxville Tn. I looked your name up on Facebook, But no luck..my Facebook name is Cjames Simmons..any how have a good one
House is a beauty stain glass window in entry in the stairs. These historical homes can be (with petty cash and elbow work) refurbishable. WOW fabulous. Thanks for the time filming. Stay safe
Are you sure they are not honeybees looking for a new queen. Thank you for closing that window. The slats in the closets are for shelves. I love the way you post how many bedrooms and bathrooms there are. Just enough talking to keep us informed. You are quite the Scary cat to be an explorer . There wasn’t one floor I would be afraid to walk on. The covering over the roof access has to be letting water in it is just plywood and doesn’t cover the opening very well. They are called stain glass windows
The smoke detector is always the last thing to be taken care of :) makes you wonder how long that battery will keep chirping like that before it finally goes silent.
I remember when they were building the 82 world's fair in Knoxville they destroyed alot of homes similar to this and grander but time goes on a shame tho so much southern homes and land are being destroyed and apartments replacing them all
Alot of these places could very well have haunting. Spirits do not like to leave their homes. It makes sense because old people do not like to leave their homes and want to die there.
hey, i'm a new subscriber & i really liked this vid. good camera work & good narration, (btw, what accent ?lol, i live in ga too.) i think this house was built around 1900, late victorian. my house has a lot of the same architectural designs & it was built in 1900. the house has good bones, but it is a lot more than a fixer upper. it would take at least another 100,000 dollars to make it safe & livable, but i hope someone does buy it & restore it. i'm so glad to see someone exploring in ga, who lives here. lots of great places to find. thank you for taking us along on your exploring. some of us can't get out & around too much so a good urbex video is a treat. keep safe & God bless :) :) happy Thanksgiving 2018 :) :)
I couldn't stop from imagining the people dressed from those reas when there was not TV or internet and they probably seat in the staircase to read a good book, write some stories in their journals and sip a cup of tea...thanks for sharing.
It is funny you say that. I drive by the house quite a bit, and one day I saw a big truck at the yellow house next door. I met a guy that thinks just like you. He bought the house, and now he is making preparations. The idea that came to my head when he told me he bought it was, "Why didn't you buy the white one in the video?" Its architecture is so much prettier from the outside. Tom
Could you send me to a more dangerous neighborhood? I'm dreading walking back to the Hotel, someone shouldn't crack me over the head and steal my bag, I'll be lying there on the street in this neighborhood and people will spit on me and empty my pockets. I'll lie in the gutter like a bum, like a dog, like a mutt, like an animal! God forbid someone should help me or call an ambulance. No, that's too much trouble to pick up a phone and press a few buttons. Ahh! What's the point.
Honey Bees? Probably live in the wall or the ceiling? Hope you closed back that roof hatch on the "widow's walk"- not that it was sealed well anyway. The stained glass in the beginning of video is worth a lot of money can't believe they left it great video
Must have been a beauty in her day. Sad to see these grand homes decay. Just stumbled onto your channel, I'll have to subscribe.
Hey Kimberly. Glad to know you. Please comment as often as you like. I love hearing other people's excitement for these old homes. Tom
You can tell it once was a beautiful home.
So glad to see you back to what you do best and you have found someone to go exploring with. This house would have been beautiful in its day, especially with those wonderful stained glass windows. What a beautiful old home OMG I would LOVE to buy an old home and give it new life this one is a BEAUTY!!!
I love the exterior myself. I love as many angles on a house as possible. thanks for watching. Tom

that house has great bones. It is worth saving but has to be now
Nice house. I'm looking forward to the explores of the other houses.
Love the video. Fun seeing that mansion
I think Bennett school and that brewery with the beautiful stairs was the best of all . Can't even get near Bennett now .
Great explore but if there lived ppl upto 2016, they really lived in a very bad maintained place, that decay looks 10 years old, cant wit too see the next house, it looks very bad.
Hey Tom so glad to see you out exploring again. I love the old houses the best. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.

Very cool. My body feels like the house looks at mark 7:04.
Dont' talk about yourself like that. Tom
Beautiful place, wish someone would fix it 😊
That was an amazing house in it's time. I never understand why people let a house rot instead of selling. I just don't get it!
Can u imagine whwn it was brand new
very awesome old house! nice explore...thanks for sharing it with us...always makes me sad to see beautiful places like that going to waste
Love your voice. It's really soothing and the southern accent is just a bonus. Great find to. Thanks
I'd have to ask someone if I could remove the stained glass window before the house caves in.. because it's too beautiful to just let it get destroyed
You would have never known that beautiful stained glass window was there if you hadn't gone in. You can't see it well from the outside.
Hey, I just responded to your message on Facebook. How are you?
Many of these old houses were broken up into apartments due to WW2, real estate was hard to find and they became "rooming houses"
You gonna check out the yellow one?
Where is this located?
Very cool find
I'm in Georgia. I respectfully can't tell you because I don't know you.
Didn't you mention something about Louisiana in the video?
Did you put the plywood back across the opening on the roof?
I would love to have this house and if I had the money and be fifthly rich I would turn it back to it's glory days
Property taxes and upkeep could be high. Loved the stained glass window
I agree. This jewel just sits and waits. I pass by it quite a bit. I always look out of the corner at my eye at it. I have another video coming soon as I go in the back of the house. I just went in the top.

Thank you.
On a visit one cold January afternoon, we had the opportunity to see the third-floor bedroom to which Mrs. Washington moved after the general's death.
where is this house located
Macon
Amazing old house, and the stained glass window is so beautiful!
Damn your voice is so sexy lol. Awesome find. If you ever come to Freeport IL.there are alot of abandoned houses to visit
outside the craftsmanship. Is great still has original features on it also the brick work on chimney is unique
The smoke detector is always the last thing to be taken care of :) makes you wonder how long that battery will keep chirping like that before it finally goes silent.

How if you are alone challenge in this house tonight ..oky guys ?....
Good job boys. Great video.
I like these type of comments.
A shame, cant a Doctor or lawyer in town buy and fix up?
i wish these homes would be redone and sold as how the house was back in the day. Houses were built a lot better and more beautiful back then.
It is so sad. You can imagine the people who built it and lived in it. Where did they go

They are honey bees and they got into the house and are attached to the light and died being stuck in the house
I hope you replaced the roof access Before you left LOL
The guy seems to “know it all about everything” , quick “thumb down” for this smart a$$”
Funny.
I love your accent, what part of America are you from ?
Looks like they utilized every inch of this house lol
those bees make me think of the movie the Amityville horror.
Looks like an exterminator was called in.
Bees can freeze and come back to life when thawed.
I know one law it's a felony to kill a bee in the United States.
If you find the county property tax Assessor's Office online you can do a property search and see when the house was built.
That is a good idea. I will look into it.
I couldn't stop from imagining the people dressed from those reas when there was not TV or internet and they probably seat in the staircase to read a good book, write some stories in their journals and sip a cup of tea...thanks for sharing.

Would love to fix up a old place like these but would have to be crazy to try it! Not their yet.....LOL
