As a mixed race person living in South Africa this made me cry so so hard. People make me want to choose a side, and this woman wants her son to be proud of both. Thank you so much for being such a loving mother.

Im raising two 2year old mixed race kids in South Africa. I'm in an interracial marriage. I don't want my kids to ever pick a side because they are the product of two people coming together in love. We used to live in a small town where many didn't believe in nor had they seen an interracial couple with mixed kids.

I am mixed race/biracial. I don`t pick a side because I`m a mixture of both. Irefuse to throw one of my parents under the bus to make others happy or accept me. I`ve accepted myself.

I love how she speaks about telling boys of color that their energy, imagination, being outspoken, etc is a problem, but with caucasian boys they are told that is their boldness and knowing what they want etc when displaying the same childhood traits. Imagine being told since the age of 2 that your creative drive and imagination is a problem. How many artists, businessmen, business owners, etc have we stifled because of this double standard? Not only is this woman gorgeous and intelligent but she will most definitely be raising a well rounded young man. She should be a public speaker, if she's not already.

“Use both heritages to elevate both races”. I’m mixed and I know a lot of mixed people who are very focused on fitting into one community (white or black). The thing is, we never fully will. We a lot of the time have privileges that many in the black community do not have and deal with certain things those in the white community may not understand. But because of that.. we’re able to relate on some level to both sides. I love this video💗

@James Bond that is a noble wish, but our world cannot work like that. We need people, ALL PEOPLE , to acknowledge race because different races exist, whether we like it or not. We can't go around pretending the world is in black and white when there is color everywhere. People need to understand and respect the struggles people of different ethnicities and walks of life have went through and accomplishments they have made, because if we dont, we will be erasing history. And a foolish country that doesnt remember its history it doomed to repeat it, which we dont want. What would be a better wish is to hope that one day, everyone will be able to see other races face to face and acknowledge their struggles and uplift each others accomplishments, instead of ignoring them and holding hate. That's what I'm hoping for, anyways🙂🙂

If we're ever going to get to the Star Trek level of exploration, we've got to fully explore, and then evolve our archaic constructs of what it's like to be "human."

I'm white and am not privalaged. I have had next to nothing. I dont feel like someone is privalaged just because of their race. I believe some peoples families have money and some don't. Their are rich Chinese, Asian, African American, Spanish, Hispanic, Latino, Native Americans and many more that are rich. Some are poor. It is how you deal with the situation. Find a way to bring your yourself out of debt.

Respect to this blogger for sitting for an interview. It is a difficult line to toe. There’s acknowledging privilege; tuning out from the comments of others who vilify your life choices; and finding joy in the happiness of your life and partner. I hope we all can get closer to joy...however way it comes.

I'm mixed race too. I love the fact that I have two races. My mum is white, mixed with French and Irish. My late Father is Ghanaian. My mum was abandoned outside a church when she was less than a month old. In those days 1937, things were hard for people. She has never met her biological parents. She met my dad when she was young. He took her under his wing and taught her everything she knows like cooking etc. She always wanted to be a nurse and when she was 16 and with my dads support she did everything she had to and by the age of 18-19 she had qualified. My parents went through a lot. My dad made sure he gave her the best life she could have wished for. They had houses, cars, travelled and did so much. Being in a interracial relationship was hard then and still hard today. People don't seem to except things like this. Being a 'product' of a interracial couple is the most beautiful thing. We get to experience so much. I don't think we should choose one side, meaning the black or white side, we are one, well, that's how I see myself! Now that I am an adult and because of my parents struggles it's made me a determined woman and now that I have children, my husband and I have taught them to be strong because things are not easy. You would think things would get easier from back in the day but talking to my mum she says things haven't changed much as there is still a lot of racism around. The only thing that is different is that people mix with each other but get into an argument with them and they will let you know what they really think of you! I'm married to a black man. Continue to bring your son up to be the strong man he is going to and don't ever let him back down. My sons are very strong minded and go for what they want. You can not tell them your going to do something or give them something and not because they will hold you to it lol. They are driven in every way and if they think what you are telling them isn't right they will tell you so! They don't mind if you are a CEO if what you're saying is not making sense they will tell you. Not disrespectfully but in a way for them to know they are not a push over. Having strong minded children is important in this day and age. We have to as parents, make them strong and determined. You and your husband are doing a wonderful job in raising your son. Gosh, I never realized how much I've written lol. When it comes to my family I am very passionate 😂😂. Hope you enjoy reading my story..lol
You have very beautiful soul and a beautiful smile. I've subscribed to your channel. May watch some more of your videos now. take care hunni and stay safe. Sending you and everyone else Prayers during this lockdown. From London UK 😘😘

Love is pure and kind and we attract what is within us and at the end of the day I'm so happy for you and all who choose to allow love to lead and embrace all that LOVE has come to teach us. This is to become the best possible version of our authentic self. That we may be of greater service to our household, our community, our country and collectively our world that we get to live in by the grace and mercy of whatever higher power we acknowledge as our source of being.

i always love it when French people speak English. I like their accent when they say " problematic" and " positive.
My ex-boss is French who married a Chinese woman.
A beautiful family with two beautiful and handsome kids.
Meet the guy's parents and they are very amazing people.
By the way, her accent reminds me of this amazing French movie titled Intouchables starring Omar Sy.
Its a must watch French movies, one of the best.

Wow she's so outspoken and shared a bucket load of wise words. I'm glad she is aware and is spreading that awareness to even the little that she has an influence on. It really does take one step, one person and even one conversation to change the world because of all of us are making these single steps then we are making many steps. It's true what they say, being passive and quiet does no good but support the problems we rather choose to refrain from talking about due to some frivolous reason like "it's awkward" as if being awkward is our main issue out here.

I’m glad that I didn’t listen to people’s opinion of us being “different” and together because I’m so happy and he is so supportive of me and has made me even more comfortable in myself. This is great, I hope that me and my boyfriend will grow into this when we are older!
