Currently 42% of Condos and 24% of Freeholds are listed as vacant across the GTA .. there is roughly another 20% of Condos listed on the market currently with a tenant in the unit.

the condo market is slower due to higher inventory, but is also in a balanced market right now. Alot of investors trying to sell. Will be interested to see if the gap continues to widen between condo prices and townhome prices, if that will begin to put pressure on the condo space.

@@Mattsloanrealestate I rent a 1 bedroom in Montreal and pay half the price of any GTA towns + my balcony is 3 times the size of the ones in any condo tower in the GTA. Why would anyone pay that kind of money for no outdoor space is beyond me.

@@michelfroggy56 yea...but you're in Montreal. 7 months of winter, highest income tax in Canada, higher sales tax, French-speaking environment, broken roads and 80% of the city "under construction" since 1990s.
If you want a proper comparison, you'll have to compare Toronto to Chicago. Neither Montreal, nor somewhere like Vancouver, are in any way similar to Toronto.
