@@lionintu I only drive about 10K per year, and usually keep my cars for about 8 - 9 years. My plan is to trade in before many of the common issues begin to surface.
@Livinghighandwise okay, understood. If it doesn't give much trouble for those 8 years I'd consider that low maintenance. But my research seems to show a vw arteon/cc is actually very high maintenance cost even during the earlier years. My friend had an audi (volkswagon=audi IMO) suv for 8 years and she took it to the shop quite often years 5-8. Year 8 they told her she needed a new engine. She got rid of it. I currently own a 2014 civic ex-l which have extremely low maintenance costs. I've only had to change brake pads/rotors and front suspension due to NY pot holes. maintenance has been cheap. I think If I want to continue this lifestyle, I should just get a loaded accord/camry sometime next year instead. Pardon me for being long winded.
Just a correction or two... Not fake exhausts, there is actually exhaust coming out there. Also 20" not 19" on the car you have in the video(I think) My Fuel use is roughly 8.2l/100Kmh avg give or take for the 20TSI... this thing is respectfully fast ! Just another FYI, New Android Auto Coolwalk works perfectly on Radio.
Hard to get in the U.S. also. I did get a ‘22 SE. I’m very pleased with this car. It feels great in every way. I heard it will be discontinued in 2024, I hope not.
@japanwatchconnection that I agree with, however I was comparing maintenance to that of a reliable car. lexus es etc. BMW is notorious for maintenance. I get ya
I test drove SEL R-Line yesterday. I did not like the car at all. My current car is 2020 BMW 540 xDrive and on paper Arteon should have a similar acceleration and comparable if not better handling. It did not. Slow from the start, then when you press the gas pedal hard it shifts with a jolt and accelerates pretty well but with a noticeable vibration. It is definitely not a smooth operator. Something that maybe good for Golf R does not work i a family sedan. Some how Arteon also manages to feel heavier than 540 xDrive.
@@MTG_REVIEWSDisagree. I used to own a G30 BMW 5 Series and the Arteon is in the same size category as the 5er. Furthermore, rear legroom and cargo space all are larger than the G30. The Arteon also compares favorably in size to the Audi A7 and MB E-Class. Now call me crazy I like the Arteon SEL Premium more than the 5 Series I owned since new for 7 years. Fantastic car, more engaging to drive, like the caving ergonomics and seats better and in despite of its sheer size more Engaging to drive and fun. The G30 was a nice car, serene highway cruiser but found it rather boaty feeling, not very engaging to drive and generally shall I say boring.
One of the best car reviews in south Africa 🇿🇦
This really means alot 🥺, thank you 🙏🏾
Just bought one here in the US. Love it!
Wow, congratulations 🎉 you got yourself a gem 💎
I'm worried about maintenance so I decided not to buy one. I'm used to the easy maintenance of Honda engines. USA here

@@japanwatchconnection what's false. I made multiple statements

The exhaust are underneath the bumper so those chrome tips are "fake exhaust" the wheeels are actually 19"
@@MTG_REVIEWSI got a 2021 R line there’s quad exhausts not fake and the R line does come with 20” wheels yours probably different year.

It's sadly discontinued in South Africa due to low sales, and it's reported to get discontinued there by 2024
@@MTG_REVIEWS Very sad indeed.
Is it low sales and high cost of maintenance?

Yeah, the Arteon doesn't come close to the BMW 540, It's a large car but not comparable to the 5 series, it's more of a 3 Series competitor
