Ok…we had the Gaggia Anima Prestige for many many years. That machine had the foam carafe. We recently got the Magenta Plus with the wand….we are really enjoying the wand and honestly like it much better than the carafe on our older machine.
I literally just ordered my Magenta Prestige this morning! I’m hoping to be able to order a 2nd milk carafe, so I can switch from non-dairy to dairy drinks.
Hi Sonja, congrats on your new magenta. Look through the comments here or search our YT channel for links to a bunch more videos on the machine covering setup and first use, how to make drinks, maintenance and more. Marc
The cream wave beans, you've been pumping them! Are they freshly roasted to order, do they have a roast date? Or are they sitting on the counter waiting for the order?
Hi Jace, Thanks for the question. Crema Wave is roasted locally every 2-3 weeks. In most cases you'd receive the beans within 1 month of the roast date. Packages are marked with roast date. Marc
Hi guys, love the videos. My wife and I drink a tall cup of kcup coffee morning and evening. Recently we decided to buy a bean to cup unit. I am overwhelmed by the choices. Want something that is mostly hassle free other than routine maintenance. My favorite cup is 5" tall, so definitely want one that will accommodate that. Can you help me narrow down the choices some?
Hi Paul, Thanks for the kind comment and question. The Magenta Plus accommodates cups to just under 6". The Gaggia Anima is less expensive and has the same cup clearance but does not have the one-touch Americano found on the Magenta. If you do mostly larger cups of coffee the Americano is the way to go for best flavor. Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage Thank you Mark. Which of those 2 machines do you think is better? I watched your review of the magenta today. I like how you can make 2 drinks at the same time. I haven't seen a review on the anima yet.
Question... I'm considering the gaggia prestige. But I don't want to get into the fine details of measuring Temps and pressure. Am i better off getting an automatic. I had a delonghi magnifica but the flavor was significantly lacking
Hey LK, Thanks for the question. There's usually some compromise in potential quality with an automatic for the sake of convenience. I say potential quality because if you're not willing to put in the effort of dialing in grind size with a semi-auto (most important factor) then you will not live up to the potential of the machine. Automatics produce consistent results with no real effort or skill required. If your looking for an automatic that ranks at the top for quality of espresso I highly recommend the Gaggia Accademia. It grinds a bit finer than most automatics and has features like flow control and boost which really make a difference. It's a more expensive machine than the Magenta in this video but a serious upgrade in espresso quality and other capabilities. Check it out in this in-depth overview video: ruclips.net/video/jZWS38_Jge4/видео.html Marc
Hi Luke, Thanks for the question. True micro-foam could mean different things. To me it means it's fine enough to be capable of pouring latte art. Milk out of the carafe is a hair to airy for that. If you want latte art quality froth you really have to froth manually.

@Wholelattelovepage Hello, please help I have Magenta Prestige, and got a simple question regarding its grinder settings. There is only press & turn button to adjust the grinder and should i be turning-adjusting only while its grinding the coffee beans what says the manual or may i Adjust before when the Machine is off ? Its currently set on number 3, medium. Thank you!
Hey dk, You can adjust to a coarser setting at anytime. When adjusting to a finer setting it's best if the grinder is grinding when doing so. But, you can adjust 1 notch finer without it running. Hope that helps! Marc
I’ve been watching the Magenta and Cardona video. I can’t decide which one I want to get. There is a refurbished Cardona on the website which is going to be $100 or so more than a new Magenta. I’m just iffy about refurbished. Otherwise, I’d go for the Cardona.
Hi AC, Yes you can. This carafe is what you want. Apparently other have the same idea as it's currently sold out. Should have more soon: www.wholelattelove.com/products/gaggia-anima-prestige-complete-milk-carafe-assembly Listing is for the Gaggia Anima carafe but it is same carafe used for the Gaggia Magenta Marc
@@Wholelattelovepage Sorry for another question but besides Magenta Prestige and Plus I also found a Magenta ,,Milk,, version. Would you be so kind to explain what are the differences between this and the other versions ? From pictures it seems like some middle-ground version, but not sure.
A bit disappointed. I wish there was a separate Ristretto setting I could save. Also, while the pucks did get dryer, there wasn't much crema. Maybe the coffee provided wasn't fresh.
@@Wholelattelovepage Thanks for the response. One last question. Can you make a video of the noise level of the machine. I would assume its probably loud with the grinding and froth cycle(s). This is really going to let me know if I will buy one or not
