Thank you for teaching every aspect of playing drums down to, what one would believe to be simple percussion. You affect and help far more than you know.
Also try it with your elbow pinned to your body vs. your elbow out in space. Another cool studio trick is tape a bunch of egg shakers to a ping pong paddle. Hard to play while playing drumset, but great as a studio shaker!

Thanks for the tips, Rob. Don't have or plan to have one any time in the near future but stuck around to pick up some insight cuz I know there's always something to be learned off your channel. Off that topic, do you have any suggestions for dry hands? My job keeps everything at 34° F and we're required to wash our hands frequently (food production) which keeps mine so dry that I can't keep sticks in my hands. Lotion is no help, spit dries up and makes it even worse and I'm starting to develop incorrectly trying to hold on to my sticks while practicing. Not to mention the constant disruption having to stop and retrieve a stick every 3 minutes causes. And that shit's getting dangerous, I'm finna poke an eye out the way they fly up off after me sometimes. Any help is greatly appreciated! Keep up the great work!

Double chamber shakers are great for extra flexibly..especially for massive outro shaking... great in depth as usual...make sure you have you...pep....a...ro...ni....if your ...if your going the 16ths...lol🤭

Stephen Birtle Big shakers with big sand, but even then you’re probably gonna need a mic on them if you actually want them to be heard

How about Maracas ??? they can 'shake' too. Single or Double for more volume. They're not just for mexican or latin vibs.
