As a cycling fan and an intermittent Zwift racer... it’s just boring for me to watch. Every race seems the same; 500 watts in the first 5 minutes splits the group, 6 - 4.5 wkg to hang on for x minutes, then whoever has the most power in the last 300m wins. There’s no climbs, no cooperation, no variance. Watching this pro race was the exact same race as watching the Zwift Championships. Just different names. Somehow I expected to see more cameras on the pros on trainers but there was one team onsite. Watching an avatar is not as intriguing to me as watching a real battle between real teams. The logistics of watching a Zwift race is painful. It’s 30 minutes of watching a guy clicking on a rider list 3x a second. It literally hurts my eyes after a while. Half the time I don’t know which rider I’m looking at because they all have the same face with a different kit. Zwift seems to be in a hurry to push e-racing but not providing any tools for the audience or announcer to follow the race smoothly. Why not program a couple of ghost riders for each group in the game and attach various cameras to those ghosts? Then I’d have a regular camera to watch instead of a new one every second. How are they dealing with the impact of everyone using different trainers with different gradient settings? Are they all required to use smart trainers with 100% gradient feel? When I watch riders climb in real life I know that they are both fighting the same hill. Zwift relies on settings to dictate the feel of a gradient. I can make a hill feel easier with a dumb trainer and/or gradient ease. There’s a ton of potential for this format and I look forward to it maturing. At the moment I see a lot more hype than entertaining sport for my taste. I’m sure others will have a different opinion and I respect that. Cheers!
Selino interesting insight for sure. How it’s presented as a broadcast is obviously an important one and sometimes it can be confusing trying to keep track with what’s going on.
Certainly not a fad, this is going to explode and due to Zwift having the numbers it will dominate for the forceable future. Would be a very good place to invest money if it becomes public. Eric is going to be a very very rich man
Live streaming races is as addictive as watching them. 🔥
I love how fast paced it is

I don't think it's a fad at all, I think it's going to be really cool and I'm happy to see it starting off.
Nice video lads 👍🏻
First! Sick video!
Need Charlton Kirby (the voice of cycling) as the official commentator.... “ quite frankly” to coin a phrase lol 😉
Agreed, the current voice of zwift is objectively terrible to listen to, in my opinion. I have to put it on mute
Super
i dont understand why anyone would prefer cycling inside his house when outside is nature
why

Meh. I'd rather ride outside. Even if it's dark
