I’ll never forgive mitsubishi for naming an suv after the eclipse
I absolutely agree 🤬 as former Eclipse owner (1994 ) they should have named it something else
Okay then! What about Ford naming an EV SUV after one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time, even lately also sportscar, and also even badging that thing with the Mustang emblem all around?
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv this is a video about a mitsubishi vehicle… why are you bringing another car brand and model into it? As for your question. The same response. Idk why you would expect different
And I will never forgive Ford for naming a truck after a car
@@Liatin1 You're talking to someone who believes in a magical skyfairy. You shouldn't expect logic or reason.
Yuri is secretly a Mitsubishi salesman 😂
If it at least had the 1.5T from the Nissan Rogue, that would be decent.
Yeah, the "trust me" in the title reminded me of the finance office at the Mitsu dealership.
Lol guys. GUYSSSSS ITS NOT THAT BAD -yuri
Whoever chose that title needs a raise
@@TheStraightPipesIT DOESNT LOOK BAD IT DOESNT LOOK BAD IT DOESNT LOOK BAD…. 😂 😊
Does Mitsubishi have Yuri’s family, or something?
I've heard he got Jacuzzi and Yakuza mixed up........ now he's in hot-water with the Japanese mafia
I'll never not love Yuri's optimism and his ability to look on the bright side 😄❤
Same here. Cynicism in the car community has left a sour taste in my mouth, but I can always watch a TSP review with a smile.
Have now lost all faith in Mitsubishi and humanity. Trust me bro Yuri said. It'll be fun he said 😢
Fun video! Not a fun a car -yuri
@@TheStraightPipes🤓
@@TheStraightPipes I made you respond to me 😂❤️
Eh, ASEAN people still have faith in Mitsubishi because of Xpander, Triton and Pajero Sport
I know that the roughly 2002/3 Montero was awesome. May as well’ve been called the Canyonero. Go back to that Mitsubishi. Also, the Kia/Hyundai in this seg. Have ventilated seats, sorta/kinda? But glad Jakob brought up at all haha
Just like your crush, it's not coming back
Just like your dad that went to get milk, he’s not coming back ..

@@TheStraightPipes She was my first crush as a lil kid watching Herbie. 😅
I understand Yuri's reasoning for buying a new Mitsubishi over an older used car. A family that lives on my street did it. They traded a very tired first gen Ford Escape and Dodge Journey on a new Outlander and Mirage G4 on the same day.
An escape and a journey? How did they survive with both of those in the same driveway? Mitsubishi just saved them
@@markcoopers1930 I think they were just tired of them breaking down. Now they have 2 new cars with a warranty.
@markcoopers1930 escapes are far better than dodge (Stelantis) Journeys
Yuri sounds like a guy that just installed a CAI and telling someone else how much faster the vehicle is now…
I knew a guy who was convinced his automatic transmission 1991 Camaro RS was going to run 11s in the quarter mile with his new headers. He ran a 17 at the drag strip and drove straight home from the end of the drag strip after the first run
I know a 40 year old that thinks that. His last car was a turbo Cruz with under glows posted on Facebook, before it got repoed. 😂😂😂
@@areituDamn that's kinda sad but how could really that think ahahaa
that is the funniest video you have ever done on a crappy car well done so funny loved it. Normally don't click on the crap ones but the promise of 'its a fun video trust me' actually was true, thank you guys
In my area Mitsubishi are everywhere. The dealer is simply amazing, great people. They have good deals, 10 year warranty, at reasonable prices. Honestly I got nothing bad to say against Mitsubishi other than they need a sedan/hatch. Lancer sold well all the time it was produced.
Same in my area of Knoxville,TN. The Outlander is everywhere around here.
They have no frills and people really like that. Plus in my area of Orlando there's a guy with a pink mirage that's been going strong for a decade. See him everywhere lol
That's my thing, they're pretty barebones but they're pretty solid.
They are rock solid commuters and bulletproof reliability.
a sedan and bring over the new Montero, all they have is 2 small crossovers
These things are really popular out here in the prairies. They're simple, affordable, and reliable. The simplicity, affordability, and AWC is all you need.
Yuri wants to love the car. Jakub refuses to like it LOL
Got one as a rental 2 years ago. As soon as I left the garage I turned back around to swap it 😂
I had one too and they wouldn’t let me swap it. Worst rental ever 😂
They sell a lot of cars in Edmonton. Bought a 2021 RVR for 24k and dealer was way cooperating than scummy Toyota who wanted 35k for a Rav4.
It does it's job, cars have become so dangerously expensive that we can't appreciate the simple and reliable commuters that Mitsubishi makes.
prices are ridiculous, $35k for a compact suv these days, you can't get a car cheaper than that now
Not mentioning the HP and torque = But they have a great personality.
=Slow
@TheTyisawesome nothing in this class Is fast, except for the mazda cx5 turbo , outlander phev or rav 4 prime.
You are fooling yourself if you think other crossovers are much faster.
It DOES look bad.
@@mr_nobody867fifetreeOniner it does not look as bad as the kia sportage, Rav 4, hyundai kona, all those cars are extremely ugly. the rav 4 keeps getting uglier each version. dont talk about the new hyundai santa fe, boxy , ugly and only gets 21mpg
Yuri became a Mitsubishi sleeper agent.
The numbers Yuri, what do they mean?
Mitsubishi makes transportation for people who hate vehicles nearly as much as they hate themselves
Mitsubishi makes vehicles for people who know nothing about cars and their credit is so bad they got rejected by nissan. Mitsubishi dealerships might as well be repo companies
Mitsubishi dealers will discount like crazy while others won't. That's one benefit. Whatever the MSRP is knock many thousands off the price. Plus it's going to be reliable.
Yuri unhinged mode again
I love it 🤣🤣
I despise this vehicle.
all my prayers have been answered, gloss black on the steering wheel? YES PLEASE
The eclipse cross power is competitive to most vehicles in this class ,
0-100 in 8.76
You act as if the Chevy trax , kia seltos is much faster
Even the kia sportage takes 8.8 seconds from 0-100
2024 crv 190hp 1.5 turbo takes 8.1 seconds from 0-100
The corolla cross takes 9 seconds to reach 100km and that is with no weight in the car.
The mazda cx5 2.5 turbo takes 6.5 seconds to reach 100km despite making 250hp.
car reviewers should actually use more data when comparing power of these vehicles.
we rented the old Trax last year, it had enough power to get around, it's not trying to be a Mustang
@danielzhang1916 the new trax actually gets 30mpg mixed city and highway , it's a 3 cylinder engine, that is pretty good for a crossover.
@@warcrabcyber9908 3 cyl / turbo 4 cylinder is the future of cars, no more V6
Dare I say it, the 1.5T in the Eclipse feels more usable down low than the Rav4 2.5L non-hybrid motor. It also doesn't sound as gruff either, though the Toyota does get better MPG.
@Trades46 there is actually a fuel economy test / channel on youtube and they did real world tests with the 2022 rav 4 model with the 2.5 engine, it actually gets around 25.4mpg with mixed driving vs 25 with the eclipse cross.
The rav 4 strength is on highway only driving, some eclipse cross users with the 2wd models actually get 29mpg on the highway, the awd really sucks fuel.
But if you live in a snow country the awd will make it superior in those conditions
Call me crazy but I love the way this vehicle looks. I’d never buy one but the design is cool imo looks like a cooler Aztec
You should check out the pre-facelift version. It really looks like an Aztec in the back. Lol
it's kinda grown on me the past few years, if they toned down the front it would sell even more
@@danielzhang1916 I have a soft spot for Mitsubishis. I've owned 2 Outlanders (07 & 10) an Outlander Sport and a Mirage (98). I'm nervous that Nissan is going to drive them into the ground though...
Folks love "different" if it's good, Mitsubishi could be that. Skipping the CVT would be a great start to separating themselves. Mitsubishi, apparently, only has the ability to be mediocre. It's a shame.
Yuri is the only person on earth who is a Mitsubishi fan 💀
7:23 Those heated seat switchs are so nostalgic😂 My roommate's 2007 Outlander has the same ones!
Classic Mitsubishi
The car that was the final nail in the coffin for Mitsubishi in Europe.
Here in the southern Black Forest in Germany you can see some of them driving around. My uncle has one too.
I’ll watch y’all review just about anything! Keep it up boys!
Funny video. I’m glad you guys are able to tolerate each other after all these years to put out some good videos for us.
Always!
The rear of the eclipse cross reminds me so much of the aztek
Especially the first eclipse cross. It even had the same rear bar that blocked the view on yhe back hatch. I think the aztek looks better than the first gen eclipse cross
What people never understood is that line in the rear view mirror was actually a throw-back to the original eclipse, the one with the raised spoiler in back.
It’s got a power sound system with a sticker “ That’s a red flag “ 😂
50 years ago, Hyundai learned how to make cars from Mitsubishi but now... 😰
We can't guess what will happen in the future, even near future like in just next decade.
Mitsubishi haven't made cars for decades, they take other manufacturer stuff and try to cobble together something that resembles a car and sell it for the same price. Why people buy it, who knows.
Mitsubishi really just made it's motor division to make money for their actual business (which is pretty much anything and everything) they are kinda the Hyundai of Japan (they make a lot of things)
Please elaborate.... @@UhOhUmm
@@blue_lancer_es Mitsubishi used to be on a Chrysler platform for years, not Japanese at all. Now they are on Renault/Nissan platform, also very little to do with Mitsubishi or Japan. They are using a dying brand name to move product instead of trying to create something.
@@UhOhUmm you have half a point. 70s. Dodge used mitsu cars.
80s. Same mitsu cars rebadged as dodges. Even dodge used some engines on their own cars.
90s. Yep... Same thing. Dsm was a joint venture. Were made in the US but most parts were from mitsu(not all)
2000s even thought DSM was no longer they still collaborated even partnering with hyundai to make the gema engine between the 3.
Anyway it's a long topic. Yes now mitsubishi is a nissan Renault entity. But 70s 80s 90s 2000s they were the ones supplying Chrysler, not the other way around.
I just bought one of these in Black Edition trim. Got a steal on it. Me and my wife love it. My previous Mitsubishi, a 2009 Galant I bought new, finally wore out .
As the proud former owner of a 1998 Eclipse GS-T, this hurts my soul.
My man - Jakub
These are good cars, people hate to hate but they're pretty good. The best part is the warranty, 10 yrs/ 100k miles transmission and engine. Otherwise it gets the job done just like every other crossover, I'd say its reliable and good
They also do bumper to bumper 10yr/120k for like 600 bucks (or at least they used to)
Most people hate it because of that Eclipse nameplate on a crossover. It just doesn't fit well.
It's a great car. Japanese cars are known to last. Plus it's rare. You hardly see anybody driving an eclipse cross. Most people have outlander sports and outlander.
3000gt, Eclipse, lancer Evo, Pajero. They were so good...
Forgot the Delica
They still make Pajero for other markets. Even the Triton pickup truck is quite good.
Sadly we only get boring SUVs in NA.
I think Jakob's reactions are the best part of this vid
Lmfao you guys drive the same roads I drive for fun with my cars and I was just staring at this black ECLIPSE cross yesterday like wtf is this on my drive - white integra type s
Yuri and the Eclipse Cross: please notice me senpai!
Jakob: No.
I'll say this. I'd never watch a video about the Eclipse Cross but because it's Yuri and because he's unhinged in this, I had to watch
I like this new style of Jakub versus Yuri. Keep it up
Had one as a rental and from my experience was that it lacks power but between the ride and seat comfort it was a good experience. Mitsubishi is about to renew most of their fleet hopefully the Eclipse Cross will be one of the first ones to get renewed.
That's lame.. it should be sporty.. with the eclipse name
Yuri doing the most 😂 Valiant effort my friend
Yuri’s IG live told me I had to come here
Same.
I miss when Mitsubishi made cool cars like the real Eclipse, Evo, and 3000gt.
And also the Montero and Pajero. Those were off road SUVs.
@@jonlosito2004 exactly!👍🏻 those were cool too!
@@jonlosito2004 they should have brought it back again, it would sell well instantly
This video had me cracking up! You guys are hilarious😂
That infotainment screen looks like an Etch a Sketch
You defend it like it’s cheap and not called Eclipse.
It’s one of the most expensive in its class and it’s called an Eclipse.
This is bad by choice.
The Eclipse Cross is actually quite smooth and quiet and resembles an upscale Lexus.
Wow so impressed..... If it were 2012 and I was shopping for a refrigerator and accidentally bought a mid-trim CR-V. This is crazy to be sold new right now
I have never seen anyone under 65 driving this. Its a grandmas car and I hate it 😁
The best part was Jakub saying, " Forget about it, Cuh." 😂 ... if you played anything from the Dr. Dre Chronic 2001 album all four doors would've fell off
I enjoyed the bickering!😂👌🏾
3 mins in and this feels like a roast of Mitsubishi 😂😂
Is that sagging paint above the Noir emblem at 1:33? It's definitely not a reflection, because the reflection moves but that "sags" don't.
As someone who had to get a 2021 Mirage hatchback, I might upgrade to this; I've had a really great time saving on gas but i need space now.
On the warranty, i unintentionally voided my warranty because i didn't do a transmission flush at 30k miles...always look at your maintenance book in the glove box -.-
the way the camera just shakes on the bass part in the video lmao.
Yea... Felt like it was on an old CRT monitor 😂😂
Hey, remember that Mitsubishi commercial where the FD RX-7 "bowed" to the Eclipse as it drove by? Yea, I haven't forgotten it. This is what the Eclipse deserves 😂
I love you guys! You made me watch a freaking Mitsubishi car review 😂
How far Mitsubishi has fallen. This was the company that gave us the Lancer Evolution. And then they dropped it. For no reason.
I totally enjoyed this. I had the original Eclipse, so Mitsubishi forever lost me as a customer. But this video was fun.
I had a 2019. Did over 200 miles a day and traded at 88k miles. Never had an issues. Didn't get very good gas mileage, I calculated the average over 15k miles or so and got 23mpg. Was good on the snow though.
Never been into Mitsubishi’s crossovers and SUV’s.. but they are literally still using the same fuel/coolant gauge screen as my 2013 Mitsubishi Evo X… if I remember correctly, that design came out in 2010.
Wait, these are sold to the public? I thought they were only for rental fleet vehicles.
Had a good laugh, thanks guys! 😂
Cool video as always 👍
My 2012 BMW X3 has a power liftgate that closes or closes and locks just like this Eclipse.
Amazed Mitsubishi is still around in North America
I honestly thought they exited the Canadian market because I haven't seen a new one on the road in the last 5 years. Apparently they still have dealerships in Toronto, but no one buys them.
now they merged with Nissan, so they're sharing parts now
@@MrKevinWhite I've seen the Outlander every so often, it seems to be selling decently
Thanks for the interesting oddball vehicle review. I do wonder about who chooses Mitsubishi. My auto service place is beside a Mitsubishi dealership - the lot sales people are super nice. I admitted to them that their front end styling looks good.
*CMON' Mitsubishi , this is not an Eclipse*
Those brake rotors are TINY wow!!
Awesome review, I’ve always wanted an eclipse and would be cool to have the newest one!
I wonder what it would look like with a FnF livery
I can see Roman Pearce pulling up in one of these with the fam. Better looking than the 3rd gen Eclipse IMO!
frfr
Give this to wistilin diesel
"It doesn't look bad! It doesn't look bad! It doesn't look bad!!!!"
"Not bad" isn't the same thing as "good."
It's actually a great car all around
I worked at a pizzeria for 2 years and we had a high turnover rate of delivery drivers and many were young men who used their drug dealer money to buy a new car and many had Mitsubishi. There were 2 people with brand new mirages and 1 with an outlander sport all 3 had cvt failure at around 30k-50k miles
TSP hitting us with that LTT trust me bro guarantee in the title x)
5:05 even the camera was shaking lol
Oh man those headlights look like those creepy hole phobia.
Edit: look im a mazda driver so having a small screen is a plus to me but jesus that screen looks like its from 2009.
Was given a Mitsubishi SUV as a rental and I've never been so underwhelmed in a vehicle before. Turned me off the brand for ever.
the second generation eclipse from 1996 to 1999 is the best eclipse, kids. It is also the last year the GSX all wheel drive turbo was offered.
Mitsubishi still makes cars?
All it needs is streetglow lights😂
The Eclipse Cross' Mazda competitor is the CX-30. CX-5 is one size up.
As someone who owned 2 Eclipses, this thing is a disgrace...it makes me mad...hahaha
Good lord this looks like it would roll over just looking at the moose test.
I rented one for these for a week and took it through the Scottish highlands, and inner/outer Hebrides. It was a very nice car but I agree it should have a different name.
To correct them,
The coolest eclipse was, and always will be both the 2G GS-T and GSX.
I had a 98' GS-T as my first car in high school. I let that thing go with 170k miles for $1700. Regret it every single day.
I have a 98 talon tsi awd and a 09 mitsubishi eclipse gt 6 speed. The 4g eclipse is a shadow of what the eclipse was but is still a decent performance car and I love it. U should still redeem the 4g eclipse video and do the gt.
Mitsubishi is like skipping the iPad and getting a Toshiba Handibook.
I would say this car is comparable to the Pontiac Aztek in terms of shape and design. But the Aztek has more quirks and features (no Doug intended) but this car is nice for when you have a family and you need something cheap.
When Yuri insists that "it doesn't look bad", you know he's reaching real deep.
I trusted you, and it was fun :D.
Just a side note, the best standard stereo audio systems are in Nissans, Hondas, and Mitsubishis, in that order.
Thank you
The countryman has had powerlift gate that has close and locked button for several years but not for lower trims is an option
That’s basically Mitsubishi’s motto “there’s just better options”
The Explorer has a power liftgate that has a close and lock button in lower trims and not just the ST.
You said the m2 looked bad, and this looks good.
You guys are making me look at an Eclipse Cross...This better be worth it
Do the sound system have a EQ to fix the sound the why you want?
Yes there is an fully tunable eq
I love you guys and always watch your videos before I buy my cars
Probably the only Mitsubishi review I’ll ever watch 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
The Paddle Shifters on this thing are Magnesium better than the plastic ones you'll find on some luxury brands.
