Hi Louis and Alexis, just wanted to say thanks for posting all these informative videos! They've been so helpful, personal, and fun to watch -- they feel like I'm talking to a really knowledgeable friend. I'm in Switzerland now and have been traveling here for the past couple of weeks with my parents (staying in Geneva and Zurich and taking some scenic trains across the country). I used your channel almost daily during trip planning and even now I find your videos useful to learn about new places to go to.
So it was really funny and amazing when I bumped into both of you at Zermatt last Friday after watching this and similar videos just hours before (I was the one who said hello outside the Gornergrat station! :) For me, a first-time visitor, you've been the face of Switzerland through these videos, so running into you was as special a Swiss moment as seeing the Matterhorn! :) Thank you for all the hard work and passion you put into these videos -- it's so clear that you both enjoy living and traveling there. After being here for the past several days, I can see for myself why it's such a beautiful and magical country.

The gornergrat railway 🚂 seems to be the best way to see Matterhorn !! Awesome panoramic views .. nice place for a wine break... Hehe.. !! Zermatt looks so beautiful during the fall season !!

Wow the views of winter is amazing, color trees and snow on the mountains 🏔, very beautiful. And soup and steak are my two favorite meals. Also gondola 🚠 and walk on suspension bridge make me miss Vancouver a lot. Have a great weekend guys !

One of the things we want to do the most is backpack through Switzerland! We missed Zermatt last visit, after seeing this... looks like we missed out! The hiking looks amazing!
The train tried views of the matterhorn looks amazing!! Thanks for the suggestion for a picnic we love picnics! Is so pretty with all the snow and so fun that it doesn't feel cold on the sun. Never had fondue haha would like to try it. Surprises that you get the fall foliage and snow covered mountains so close to each other. Thanks for sharing all your tips. The train up the mountain was nice, but I think I liked the fall color hike back down the mountain the best, but the suspension bridge was pretty awesome to.
It's so nice to get winter and fall in the same day on one train ride! The suspension bridge was awesome but was a bit too shakey for me :D

The views are absolutely breathtaking, it’s picture perfect! I can’t even imagine how it must feel to be there in real life...all the colours are so beautiful, from the fall foliage to the sky blue pink (might be my new favourite colour as well 😅). The altitude will also get to us, as we live at sea level 😬

The views of the Matterhorn are gorgeous! I love how you showed photos from when you were there last and you can see the reflection in the lake. It is beautiful covered in snow also. The picnic you had was perfect...talk about lunch with a view. I am wondering how I would handle the altitude. Btw, that fondue at dinner looked delicious too!

I’ve lived in Switzerland since July 2017, and I’ve been to Zermatt countless times. Most definitely one of my favorite places. Every September I take the train to Gornergrat, then hike back to Zermatt with a stop for lunch at one of the restaurants in Findeln.
I think its my favorite place in all of Switzerland :)

At first, it seemed like you were a bit suspended about the suspension bridge...and whether to cross it. (I think I misread what sounded like apprehension.)
Yeah, I'd take the long road...especially because it means more time with more views.

Great! Do you happen to know what activities area available in Interlaken in the fall (1st half of October)? Or where I would be able to find this? Specifically looking for things like the canyon swing, paragliding, via ferrata, canyoning, etc. Thanks!
I'm heading there in a few days! Would you recommend winter coats for this time of year in general in Switzerland? Or in lower cities like Zurich or interlaken was a spring jacket fine for end of October?

Can you tell how long the train takes? And if someone wants to go by gondola rather then train? Like Jungfrau can be reached by gondola or train.

Hi, we are planning a fall trip to Switzerland and wanted to do 5 lake walk with larches. However it seems like gondola will be closed in October 8. Can you please tell me if that time will be good to see larches all over Switzerland? We read mid October is perfect. Don’t know how to go to Grindjisse lake without gondola that time. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks😊

This video was filmed in October! Weather was cool but mostly mild, if you take the gornergratbahn up or go into the mountains you’ll have quite a bit of snow

Zermatt and Matterhorn seem incredible no matter the year and the sunset colors definitely were magial. We would definitely be right there with you as we are not high altitude people even though I (Gökçe) did some skiing. I feel like Steve couldn't do that bridge he's afraid of heights!😂

@@TheTravelingSwiss Awesome. How was your experience of Zermatt during this season in terms of crowds and facilities? I read that end of October is considered a shoulder season and that many cable cars and mountain restaurants close down during this time of the year. Is this true and did it have any impact on your travel plans?
@@Leei All of the major ones trains, cablecars, etc. were open and we had no problem - the hours are reduced but everything was open. Some of the restaurants and shops may not be open, but the smaller crowds in my opinion was worth the minor sacrifice - its a beautiful time to visit Zermatt with the changing leaves and still plenty to do
