The Affair explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that brings these individuals back together. Season four finds Noah (West), Helen (Tierney), Alison (Wilson) and Cole (Jackson) in their own orbits, alienated from each other, spinning further and further away from where they all began. Every character is involved in a new relationship, forcing them each to decide if they’re ready and willing to leave the past behind for good - with a season about new beginnings, tragic ends and the ever-elusive possibility of forgiveness. Sanaa Lathan joins season four as Janelle, the tough-as-nails principal of the charter school where Noah teaches. Ramon Rodriguez guest stars as Ben, a Marine veteran now employed by the VHA and Alison's new love interest. Additional season four guest stars include Russell Hornsby (Grimm), Christopher Meyer (The Fosters), Amy Irving (Yentl) and Phoebe Tonkin (The Vampire Diaries). Writers Guild Award-winning playwright and writer/producer Sarah Treem (House of Cards, In Treatment) and Hagai Levi (In Treatment) created the series. Treem, also the showrunner, and Levi serve as executive producers. Jessica Rhoades is an executive producer on season four.
Here in 2021 just binged watched all 5 seasons. I was in shock when Ruth Wilson abruptly left the show. The whole “Ben” story line I couldn’t stand. It felt so regressive to her character. For the most part I loved this entire series. Like. Great book I couldn’t put down. You want to see what happens to these people. You’re on a journey with them. The series finale was epic. Well done. Stellar cast.
Noah laugh is contagious...... Helen and him played their roles brilliantly.
Dominique West and Ruth Wilson are such brilliant actors…with such incredible ability and talent. I loved them together and was very sad when they were no longer together.
Season 4 absolutely compelling drama. Love it ❤️❤️❤️

Just finished watching. So sad. So touching.
Season 3 was dark and distressing. Season 4 was wrenching. I love this show, but--sigh--every time I feel uplift, I feel deflated. Helen never ceases to amaze me, and I will miss Allison.
I just got in 2 the show nd now it ended so I have 2 wait 4 the DVD episodes 4 I can catch up, I can't get enough of this show
Lol Now everybody wants Noah and Allison back together. I love Noah's new love interest. Noah and Allison do not need to get back together because they don't work right together. They all need to move on from one another.
Lol Noah was willing to go to prison to protect Helen not Allison. He is never going to forgive her internally for lying about being Joanie's father.

The show really lost it's way last season. The heart of the show is Noah and Alison. They need to bring that storyline back into the mix.

I stumbled across this series on the Peacock app and suffered my way through all 5 seasons. Seasons 1 and 2 were good but after that was just overkill. There was really no need in introducing all these other characters, the doctor, the movie star, the prison guard, the French teacher, the high school principal and her son, the pregnant next-door neighbor, Joni, it was just too much.
There was just so many unanswered questions, something would happen then the next episode it was like the previous thing never happened before they didn’t say how it got resolved it was just very confusing with all the jumping back-and-forth. Nothing ever was tied together it was just like a bunch of chaos.

Alison and Noah are very unstable people. They were very selfish. Two marriages were destroyed. They only cared about theirselves. Alison and Noah’s marriage will never work because of the way it started. I loved Cole he was genuine with the love for Alison.He would always love her , and I feel that Alison still loved him. As far as Noah and Helen I always believed Noah still loved Helen. With Noah and Alison it was lust ,and that grows old after a while .Interesting to see The Affair tonight to see what happens on Season 5 . 👍👍👍👍👍

Lust don’t last for very long, people in marriage can fall in love with others, it’s right? Nope, but it happens more than you think! 🙄🤷♀️ just because you are married does not mean you can’t feel for somebody else, and it’s exactly like Noah describe it, you think about the other person all the time even when you are with your husband either you like it or not

I read the summaries for the last few seasons because the show became agonizingly boring three episodes into season 3. Let’s just say I’m glad I didn’t waste my time actually watching.
Is season 3 when Noah gets out of prison? That was the worst season, I had to fast forward through a lot of it.
