Love this topic. I've had many discussions with friends about these subgenres and also certain scenarios and horror tropes that we never get tired of. Things like, "Snowbound horror" stories, sci fi horror, monsters on a rampage, haunted schools, small town curses... so many!
Awesome selection, man! Really great vid, as always! I didn’t think to do any runner-ups, but I guess the biggest ones, off the top of my head, would be Anthology and Killer Dolls lol. And thanks for the description tag! God bless!
I LOVE Abbot and Costello Meets Frankenstein! That is such a classic film... so many good memories of getting it from the library to watch over and over and over!!
For ghost story books, I'd recommend The Haunted by Bentley Little. My favorite genre in books and film is anything having to do with other worlds and reality. Something like Pan's Labyrinth (my all-time favorite film) or Imajica (or anything by clive Barker, really). I like it when ur left feeling like there is something bigger out there. Other genres I like would be slasher, creature features, folk, and pulp, too
The final of the four horseman arrives, the white horse (jk lmao) You and I have a lot of the same tastes in stuff so I completely resonate with all the stuff you mentioned brotha, plus you had some great picks to represent, amazing video🔥💯
Unique video! Thanks for all the recommendations! I’m not sure I could even choose a favorite sub-genre of horror… It really just depends on what I’m in the mood for.

And for Horror comedy novels done right, check out Jeff Strand. Start with "Wolf Hunt" and it will make you a fan.

"Killer Klowns from Outer Space" is another very entertaining one. When I was dating, my wife-to-be didn't believe that such a movie existed.
@@michaelsamerdyke108 I love Killer Klowns

"Tucker and Dale vs. Evil" is enormously entertaining. A splendid choice.
"Topper Returns" is a terrific horror comedy that is often overlooked.
@@michaelsamerdyke108 Thanks for the rec, I'll check that out!
So happy to see that you like "Psycho" and "Cat People." "Cat People" is terrific, but I would argue that Irena does actually transform.
Nice list
