Little comparison I've wanted to do for years. Enjoy! My Social Media: ❱ Instagram - / trhamza_ Any Email/Promotional Enquiries: ❱ hamza_trh@hotmail.com
Beemer fan here, but the B7 RS4 has always been one of my favourites. The sound, the arch flares, wingback seats, steering wheel... The new RS3 looks just like a regular S3 to me.
@@battlingphoenix3847 bro why you getting head in a car if you don't have your own place to bring a girl you have bigger things to worry about than getting head in the driver seat
Very cool comparison! I had a 2020 RS3 and now I've got a 2007 RS4, and I can honestly say the two are worlds apart, and I love them both. The RS3 is 70% subtle sleeper, 30% maniac: the straight line speed is absurd, the tunability is hilarious, and the AWD grip makes it a true weapon on any normal roads; the downside is the chassis leaves a 9.5/10 motor ( -1/2 a point for the turbo lag) wanting for better support, less understeer, and a bit more agility on the limit. A lot of this is down to the haldex tuning I suspect, but stiffer sway bars and more camber wouldn't go amiss either. The RS4 feels like a GT muscle car by comparison, and has so much more presence than the RS3. The V8 isn't as quick, but the throttle response is incredible, the noise is pure music, and working that sweet, sweet NA motor with the manual trans is one of the last great experiences in driving. Mine has coilovers, modified exhaust, and uprated engine, trans, and diff mounts, and the combo makes it feel and sound like a deranged race car, but with 4 doors. It's the perfect combo is stupid fun and practicality.
Older cars had character and uniqueness. New cars are all copy and paste due to tougher emission rules and safety . Also new cars are too perfect if that makes sense although Extremely capable their boring .
Epic stuff man. Your first b7 video made me get one of ew one made me love my decision even more. Love mine emensly. Great content as usual bud keep it up.
Great video and exactly the comparison I was looking for, as torn between buying one of these two! I'm intrigued by your mention of the RS3 steering feeling more vague than the RS4 B7 - I would have guessed that would have been the other way around with the RS3 having the progressive rack from the Golf R (which feels great in the R) - have Audi mushed the turn-in and feedback on the rack for a "luxury" feel instead?? Please let me know as will have to travel quite far to be able to test drive the RS3 I have in mind. Steering is very important to the overall feel for me. Thanks again for a great bid!
In terms of character and just a complete driving experience nothing I’ve driven compares to the B7 RS4, it doesn’t matter who u are or how old you are, if you see one on the road you will respect it. The design is timeless and the Whirring of that V8 is a characteristic I’ve never experienced with anything else and that V8 is Audi’s most reliable engine built. I miss my RS4 but it’s a very high maintenance car I daily drove it for nearly a year
@@michaelhirst4634 yes available as DCT , dual clutch transmission which is amazing in the M3 , then for the purists the manual option both are great , personal preference really .
I used to have a B7 RS4 saloon and now have a 2016 RS3 Sportback. No comparison, the RS4 and manual box was way more special, and great daily if you don’t mind the mpg! Miss the V8 beast.
Its nice to see you still have down to earth content. Some You Tubers with your sub figures i think are going off the boil with their content at the moment.
I’m same as you, the b7 rs4 was my fav all time car too and I would love to have one when it came out, then the rs3 saloon came out. Had to have one as it looked fairly similar to the b7 rs4
Good review and description about differences, awesome work. Similar to how I see it, RS4 is special in every way, RS3 is crazy fast (simple stage 2 gets high 10s 1/4 mile). Very hard to say what is better, what would you take if you have to choose one :)? My summary: RS3: + performance much better overall (track times, weight, acceleration, braking, shifting speeds, handling) + newer/modern, if it is a plus in some way RS4: + exterior/interior much more special and stronger looking (possibly better quality) + V8 sound and N/A instant throttle response + manual and Torsen Quattro, driving feedback
Both cars are amazing! Biggest mistake getting rid of my B7 RS4. That RS3 does sound pretty good though, it’s a bit ‘throatier’ than stock sports exhaust! Anyone have an idea its exhaust?
The 5 pot sounds so much better even compared to a v8. The v8 is good butt too muscly, the rs3 is like rally style the sound is so different yet so better.
Great video as usual Hamza, you had a way bigger grin on your face driving the B7 its way more visceral and you are more involved in the driving experience more feel more emotion, no turbo will ever sound that good and that V8 is legend for its sound, your right about the solid build quality and how stout the doors close not like the newer cars, leaky suspension aside, i would love to drive that B7 here at home in Central Canada in the snow with good winter tires, MICHELIN ALL THE WAY , like you said 2 cars different experiences 👍 I'd take the RS4 B7, oh yeah we are getting the cool over night temps now to, was 6 degrees friday morning going to work so no windows down, LOL
All the things you pointed out about B7 I would chose Rs7 B7 over newer RS3 no disrespect to yours . In front of beastly B7 RS3 looks Corsa with loud exhaust hahah that seats I mean why even GOLF R if someone is pay way extra money for car than Sline , S and going for RS should get nice / bucket seats
Lovely walkthrough and filming. Imagine we didn't have YT. You would have been been making 30 second clips and uploading to myspace! Great stuff. I really enjoy the comparison videos you do to show what the difference is in the real world especially how close Audi are making the S and RS models which can be poor value. Thumbs up.
Which of the two cars in your opinion handles better in terms of both: a) Subjective feeel (e.g. Balance, agility, predictability) b) Ability (i.e. amount of speed they can carry through a corner) Would you say they are on a fairly similar level in those regards, or is one clearly a step above the other? I would assume the B7 would be the better because it's more mechanical and Torsten based, but then the RS3 is 10 years newer and probably la bit lighter. I have both cars on my shortlist for my next weekend car and curious!
I am allergic to transverse engines, 4 wheel drive and turbo charge so I will definitely get the V8 by virtue of the longitudinal engine. Modern cars are full of fakery such as front wheel drive pretending to be 4 wheel drive, piped in fake sound and a nice programmed exhaust. NA engine is like fine wine whilst the new RS is Asda bottle of plunk with no soul.
The 3 has probably had Paul at PCW breath on it - sounds the same as mine after he weaved his magic. Don't get me started on the 'advanced key' option only to be handed a brick on handover - a joke.

Your bang on about the b7 being more of a car for the weekend as I've got one and that's exactly what I use mine for 😁. Like the one you drove mine has an mrc stage 2 map,has had the carbon clean and it has a miltek non resonated exhaust on it. Were you booting it in sport mode as mine is a totally different animal in sport mode. I think that's to do with the stage 2 map and maybe they map it into the sport mode? Anyway, fantastic cars,I've had mine donkeys years and I've no plans to ever get rid of it. Great vid mate 👌
Yes mate switched between sport and normal mode in the video, nice having two different driving styles. Great cars would love to have one as a weekend car at some point 👌🏼

Why is it so many older cars are more interesting?
Older cars were made by people. Newer cars are made by computers (well, people using computers)
Stephen Peacock are you sure it’s not computers using humans
Older cars had character and uniqueness. New cars are all copy and paste due to tougher emission rules and safety . Also new cars are too perfect if that makes sense although Extremely capable their boring .

B7 has aged really well I would still take it over any modern RS naturally aspirated high revving V8 paired with a 6 speed manual.
Not many modern N/A high revving V8's with a 6spd manual all auto's nowadays😕 B7 was last for Audi with a V8
