I don't think that TXT is X and Friends. They all stand out to me. Nowadays Beomgyu is getting a lot attention and I love it as a person who is Beomgyu biased. I never felt like anyone in TXT is underrated because they really are not. All 5 of them are appreciated and loved.

For variety show, soobin was a mubank mc, beomgyu appeared on bistro shigor for 3 eps, taehyun on lee mujin service, kai and taehyun was a dj on ebs radio, and they all had a chance to be a special dj on dekira with extra session with beomgyu 4. The reason why yj is mostly at the center for TXT's dance break is the same reason as why taehyun mostly has more lines in TXT's songs.

Yeonjun and Soobin have been famous since the debut and has literally nothing to do with them getting more opportunities than others. Kai, Taehyun and Beomgyu also got many solo projects and I'm sure they will get more in future too
Tbh TXT was never Yeonjun x friends, i've never heard anyone speaking like this. First of all - all members had solo activites so it's not like company push only YJ to do everything. And also Soobin is equally popular as Yeonjun, esp in Korea. During his MC time he was always the member with highest position in the monthly popularity chart. Plus, if i remember correctly, all members were included in the chart, with the bigest gap between SB/YJ and the rest but still the gap was not like eg.10th place vs 90th place so it's not that bad. I also don't see that big difference in eg. their twitter post's likes, teaser's views etc (yes, there is a difference but again - it's not at the lvl of 100k vs 1m which i saw in certain groups).
txt never gave me an x and friends vibes at all....every member had at least 3 to 4 personal events and scheduals. taehyun and huening kai with radio listen, soobin the music bank mc, beomgyu in day6 radio and bistro shingor and many others.
Beomgyu isn't the official center thought. There is no offical center. Big Hit only ever announced 1 position from the start and that was Leader. Once during some content, I can't remember which, Beomgyu said he was the visual center but that was never official. And honestly txt make it clear all the time that they are pretty much doing what they want to do. YJ's interest put him in the public eye all the time and that's ok. In terms of performance, the members have all said they are working hard so he doesn't have to take all the burden of dancing. I hope they get AOTM spotlight for all of them because they are all really great dancers.
Big Hit never actually made a statement to 'officialize' it but Hueningkai did confirm that Beomgyu was their center during a fansign. I know it's not the same as if Big Hit themselves introduced Beomgyu as the center but if TXT themselves say it, it's probably true

Idk, I'd more blame the company. Both groups at their company experience this if you think about it. I obviously don't think this way because I'm an Aroha, but I see it constantly from nonstans. I've only been an Aroha for a year, and while I love all the content they've been putting out, I can't help but wonder wtf Fantagio is doing. Astro is over worked and getting sick left and right and have no time to recover, just immediately pushed back to work. Meanwhile they're completely underworking Weki Meki?!?! I supported their comeback last year, and the album was absolutely amazing, but it felt rushed and then it just felt like they disappeared. I see them go live on vlive all the time, but Fantagio only posts stuff about Doyeon. So as a non stan, it definitely looks like it's Fantagio and not the fans. I still can't believe they're debuting another boy and girl group this year. Weki Meki deserve better, and I'll continue to support them as much as I can because they really are all so talented and lovely. Fantagio can kick rocks.
For aespa, I always thought it was Winter and friends, she always seems like the one who stands out the most in their MVs. For everglow, it's definitely the company's fault. For loona, it's a mess, why did they give every member a solo debut if they would act like most of them don't exist later. For Weki Meki, I feel bad because I feel like Fantagio has been trying since Picky Picky to give the other members some spotlight but the public just cares about Doyeon and Yoojung so that's why they're the ones who go on variety shows but yeah they could have avoided this.... For TXT, it's obvious that Hybe always pushes in their songs and performances the members who give the most money, just like BTS songs are usually maknae line with special guests and it's not because of their positions but because of popularity...
I feel the same about Aespa, Winter had been continously promoted the most and given the most/memorable lines since Forever, she gets the most screentime, and even most of the high notes and rap lines despite her not being the main vocal or sub rapper. When new fans (not vocal coaches or singers) discover Aespa, they would definitely think Winter is the main vocal instead of Ningning. She even shares the center with Karina in dance breaks. Winter is definitely talented, but not to the extent that SM has to push her into overshadowing the others.

Y'know I've biased and still do popular and non popular idols and it's a difficult situation because I know how both sides feel. There's a group that I like (although I like one member more than the group itself) since I REALLY like a member that's not popular and even tho the group is very successful and from a big 3 I can't help but feel bad for this idol and wished they would be more appreciated (by fans and non fans) :') I actually stopped myself from full on "stanning" the group cuz I couldn't take the favoritism anymore, even tho it's not as drastic as some other groups I can't help it. Ok . I have a perspective on this .. this might be wrong tho . 1 . Capitalising of predeput popularity , stan attractive ness, visuals etc . 2. There is a chance that the favoured member is good at what they do and the other members are bad or do not suit their positions . So maybe until the company finds a way to improve their skills or giving them suitable activities/verses , the op members are favoured .
