First submission denials. Most initial denials are made due to incorrect or missing information on the claims or because the treatment wasn’t covered under their insurance. Obviously, if UHC denied legitimate claims they need to answer for it.

An error rate of 70% isn’t likely. One favorite strategy of UHC is asking for medical records, then claiming for several months the records were incomplete, didn’t support the codes billed, etc. Then UHC can claim that the claims weren’t filed timely. Rinse, repeat.

As for professional claims filing, I’m dealing with a billing error right now from my Primary Care physician’s office. Most of the companies I worked for just didn't offer it. I have an undiagnosed mental illness. Just recently I'm working for a company that offers healthcare insurance. At first I was excited I thought now I'm one of the privileged. So I went to the dentist and got my teeth cleaned. Which didn't happen in almost 20 years. I went to the doctor and got a checkup. Which didn't happen in almost 20 years. I started the process figuring out my mental health illness and then I stopped. Because I thought about it. This isn't my insurance it's the companies insurance. It can be taken away at any time. So if I go through the process and find the right people to diagnose me find the right medication. It can be taken away at any time. I get fired I quit. the company goes out of business. Where would I get that medication from. I've always heard when you stop taking medications like that the symptoms get worse. So I made the decision to suffer in silence. Well almost silence. Thank you Luigi. You gave me my voice back.
I dint know which medication you might get prescribed but just know: 1) if you are prescribed medications and it's something that has a generic, it may only be 5 $10 a month and there is good RX coupons that you can use most pharmacies honor GoodRx which you can find on your smartphone if you have one 2) not all mental illnesses are treated with medications some will prescribe exercise and talk therapy , forgive me if you already know all this but it's just something to take into consideration. Oh and something else back to the prescriptions if it is an expensive medication most drug companies will have a patient assistance program and often you can get the medication for free. Take care.
