In this episode Ritz Carlton invited Tom, Rosie and I for a Staycation- which we turned into a Babymoon! We also do baby check-up, girl's brunch, and a lot of cooking AND I felt the baby move for the first time!

Turkey Soup Recipe
Ingredients
Broth:
Leftover turkey bones
Cold Water (about 1 inch above turkey)
1 carrot, roughly chopped
1 Celery, roughly chopped
2 Leafs
3 sprigs of Parsley
1 tsp dried Thyme
Salt, Cracked Black Pepper
Method: Bring everything to a boil them lower heat and simmer for a minimum of 4 hours (I did 6. my Grandma does overnight)
Strain the broth.
Soup:
1.5 cups of carrot, peeled and chopped (not the ones cooked in broth the flavour is gone)
1.5 cups of celery, peeled and chopped (not the ones cooked in broth the flavour is gone)
1 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp dried sage
3 tbsp chopped parsley leaves
1 bouillon cube (if needed)
1 tbsp fish sauce
1/4 lemon (if needed, it brightens the flavour)
Leftover turkey meat
noodles (optional)
Method:
Add the butter to a frying pan over medium heat and when the butter is melted sauté the celery and carrot for 10 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for another minute.
Add the celery/carrot/garlic to your broth. Put in the sage, parsley leaves, bouillon cube (if needed), and the fish sauce. Taste. Add lemon if needed. Play with the flavour until the broth is to your liking.
Add the leftover turkey.
Add the noodles (cook to the time on the package, I like them a soft not al dente for soup)

Rosie being on vacation is the best part of this, you can tell how much she just enjoys spending time relaxing with you guys
I remember the first time I felt my son move. I was 19 weeks and it felt like a quick movement and I had to sit and contemplate whether it was a movement. 1 minute later, it happened again, and I was so overjoyed. Thank you for reminding me what that joy felt like 😍

With my 3rd and last pregnancy, I wouldn't have survived without baths in my garden tub, to relieve all the pressure on my back and joints. I used a temperature duck (thermometer) for kids bathtime; but it was perfect for me to make sure the water was not too hot
And also......I have NEVER EVER in my life seen someone put a whole turkey on the rack with a pan below to catch the drippings...that gave me so much concern for fires and messes. Eek

My moms turkey soup secret. Before you cover the turkey bones with water, roast the bones till they are brown, then start your soup. Its makes the turkey falvor more intense.

Beingin water is heavenly when you're big and pregnant. I remember going to the beach while I was preggo, as soon as the water is below the tummy it feels like you instantly gained 30 lbs, so getting out of the water is much less pleasant than going in lol

That swimming pool looks so heavenly, it must have been like swimming in clouds! I have a twisted spine (a spine disability) and I completely agree with what you said about swimming. Swimming is the only time where your body is fully supported, so any pressures, aches and pains are relieved because you're not the one holding your body when you swim.
I just about fell off the couch when I saw your candle. I thought Malicious Woman candles were just a local thing. I am so pleased to see that she has more exposure. 💕 Anyway thanks for sharing so much of your family with us. I am really enjoying the journey and seeing your happy family grow.

I felt my son's first flutter during my husbands grandfather's funeral so I couldn't even tell my husband. My son went from 1 middle name to 2 that day. Aso exciting when those feelings go from flutters to rolling to pushes to "OMG baby, stop beating me up"! 🤣

It’s so good that you’re staying fit and working out while pregnant. About 18 weeks in I had so much pelvic pain from too much relaxin that I couldn’t work out much any more.

I would not get the doggy a stroller right now. Soon you will be pushing around a stroller with a baby in it and you can't push two strollers if Rosie has become used to not having to walk herself. I would pick out a stroller for the baby that has space for the doggy underneath the babybasket.

When I first felt my oldest son move and kick me I was 17 weeks. It’s always the best feeling. It’s always amazing to see each persons baby grow no matter how many I’ve seen. My three boys are 15, 12 and 8. I sometimes miss those days of my pregnancy, and when they were so little. But I’m also enjoying watching them grow into young men. Again congratulations on the little one.🥰🥰

And I love that you're carrying on the turkey soup tradition! I loved Thanksgiving so much because there was always a ton of leftovers (for a few days), and then mom would make soup. So delicious!

I love how you shared your thanksgiving with your friends. This year I taught myself how to break down a turkey and the pieces cooked in less than an hour. It's way easier than you think!
It's also a tradition in my family to make a turkey soup, but now that it's in my hands, I'm excited to sort of make it how I like it. So I turned mine into a creamy, thick turkey soup, but before I added the ingredients, I simmered my stock with a generous amount of pickling spice, then strained it, then added the veggies, roux, and shredded turkey! Next time I'm going to make some boiled dumplings to go with it too! So good.

Cooking the turkey upside down is ok! It makes the breast meat more moist. I do it on purpose when I roast chicken. I like eating the meat and skin off the back than the white meat, so it works out for me.
