I remember my celebrated summer - 1985. 37 years ago. Damn.
I saw Hüsker Dü 1st time in 83. They were still HC then, but they did play a couple songs off their not yet released Zen Arcade album.
One of the most powerful 40 minutes I've ever seen.
Back then, all their gear was a hodgepodge of pawn shop finds.

In Minnesota, where Bob's from, you certainly learn how to celebrate summer!

Actually, he was from Malone, NY, way up by the Canadian border. But your supposition would still seem correct.

Yes indeed from a fellow Canadian here living near Malone in Montreal nearly an hour away only, summer is really something rare so people in the west and south’s lives seem so different, in my opinion winter is pretty difficult and sad bud summer is amazing! Anyways. Bob definitely knows how to celebrate a summer after writing such a damn good song, bob and grant and Greg rock!!

Saw Husker Du in South Philly first time , Elks Lodge, Feb-March 1986. They had so over filled the hall the floors were collapsing. Best show I ever attended. Mosh pit over 100 people in a swirl, guys launching off amp towers. I got surfed all the way from stage to back of crowd and then the hands ran out and I flew down a short flight of stairs
    Good thing I was drunk
Met Bob in Baltimore years later. He played solo gig. I learned then that he was 99% of the band. I asked him if he remembered the Elks Lodge show , not sure he did. Still love their music.

Watching this in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic/lockdwon here in Buenos Aires, exactly 3 months away from summer. I couldn't be more thankful for Bob and his music as a gift to endure such difficult moment. Thanks for sharing!

Yes! Bob is the finest popular musician in history. 'Divide and Conquer" proves that beyond doubt. Does any other song come even close to it?

First saw them in '84 in Chicago. Took me a week to recover. It was worth it! So cool how Bob stalks around the stage like King Kong. :-)

What a remarkable and brilliant performer! Not to mention versatile, too. He's been in innumerable bands, wrote innumerable songs but has never come off stale. Each approach has been fresh. I eagerly await his next musical incarnation!

Looking back on great guitarists and great rock songs. Eric Clapton: Sunshine of Your Love. Recorded 1967. Eric's 1987 version? Blech. Bob Mould/Husker Du: Celebrated Summer. Recorded 1984. 2016 (32 years later)? MELTS YOUR FACE :)
