Preview: The Rock/Creek Thunder Rock 100 Mile Trail Race

For 2014, Rock/Creek is finally bringing a 100 mile trail race to the Chattanooga area! It's called the Rock/Creek Thunder Rock 100 miler, and it's a point-to-point 100 mile trail race that will take place in the Cherokee National Forest area around the Hiwassee River and Ocoee River.
In April 2013, R/C team members and a small group of Southeastern ultrarunners gathered for a weekend to pre-run the proposed course, and hash out important details like aid station placement and crew access points. This video contains footage from that weekend and interviews with the participants.
This race WILL be a part of the Salomon Rock/Creek Trail Series, but final details and date for this race are yet to be confirmed. Start getting excited, and visit www.rockcreek.c... for updates!

My old stomping grounds. Miss them. Thunder Rock was fun to jump into the river on a hot day and then float down. With a life jacket of course. ;)
