What I miss is the cabin noise level while driving on Autobahn. Some cars have really good sound proofing and others not so much. For someone who drives a lot and has to take calls while driving the noise level would be really interesting.

Perfect review. As a previous 750i owner (same model as yours, also blacked out) I feel completly the same. Will wait for the LCI model and hope V8 versions will be sold in EU.
EU sucks mate, i don't think we will see a V8 ever again in a 7 series here in europe..

Give it a few months, the guys in the southern parts of the US that are known to put 30" wheels on '84 Buick Regal's will soon be sourcing those TV setups for their own custom vehicles...they already buy the giant panoramic sunroofs from late model cars and get them installed, this will be next, and im not even mad 😅

Touchscreen controls for basic functions is the single most anti-consumer tech I know.

It's really insane how (many) people still complaining on having buttons. Just imagine how many buttons you should have for each option that's available in the car. Instead of simply using the voice command.
1) using hello BMW command.
2) click on voice command button on the steering wheel
Use it (almost) all the time in my G20 and always does the trick.

I sadly agree with You on the direction of newest BMWs, I was hoping this thing will grow on me after some time but it really doesn't, sadly the new 5 series is following a similar theme which is a shame as the g30 was almost a perfect car in every way.

As a Chinese consumer and a BMW M owner, i can say that these new BMWs are hated in China as well. I think sales numbers will not be great.
I dont like the look on video or pictures but in person I was in awe and shock for 2 minutes staring at it. I think I like the 2023 design.
Thank you from South Africa. I plan to by the I7 in the same colour with the same colour upholstery. This is exactly what a limo should be, but I can still enjoy driving the car myself too.
For me it is the perfect approach. After having a 750i LCI G11 I now switched to the i7 x60 (still in production) after driving it for testing purposes for a couple of weeks.
The gap between the G11 and the G70 is SO big and every single aspect with the new car has improved, well almost ;)
The design is awesome, I even prefer the exterior design over the interior design. I ordered the car in two-tone aventurine red and oxide grey.
It is SO classy. Don't like the M-package, it destroys the looks completely.
I know that when you test-driven the car it had OS 8.0 and that was horrible, 8.5 is a real step up especially with the climate menu. You don't need the buttons, you really don't need them.
The voice command is brilliant and understands everything you may want to change in the menu, it is SO convenient.
When I saw the press pics I hated the car and was afraid of the missing buttons etc., but now I only can say that this is the perfect way and I don't miss anything.
As a driver you may need to adjust your thinking and need a couple of hours to get used to everything, set up the app to enable remote parking etc., but that's a good thing, right?
It's the "future". Cars in the luxury class are not made for "steering wheel, shifter, gas pedal - all I need" people anymore. If you want more than just a car - buy the i7. It's great :)
What I don't get about BMW is why don't they just make cars exclusive for the Chinese market? Audi does it with (what I believe it's called) the A8L which is made purely for what the Chinese market wants and they have separate models for the more western market.

Great review as always guys. Such a shame to see the end of cars like the G11 750i and the V12 M760li, particularly the V12. What an incredible car that was. We will never see the likes of these cars again. So sad.
I nearly did not bother to continue watching this review after your negative pre-judgement expressed. But I did watch it to the end. I have traded a BMW 740d (with just 26k on clock) on a new order for a 760e which arrives at the end of this month. Fortunately I have watched many other reviews and your comments - with your negative views - I am glad to say are ON THEIR OWN. So many other reviewers have great things to say after extensive drive tests. These established professional reviewers have much more helpful things to say than you do. At least we agree on the colour, Tanzanite Blue, which we have also ordered (but with Midnight blue and Merino (two tone) interior). If you think the BMW brown Tatufu Brown leather looks good, it just proves how tastes can vary. A suggestion is best to spend a bit more time to learn about the car before expressing such strong opinions. We have ordered all options including theatre with executive lounge, so at least you confirm that we will enjoy this feature.
i am huge bmw fan, previously i owned e39, e60, e90, f10 and currently i have e92 and i think this new 7er is awesome... i would totally get one with all possible equipment if i ever won the lottery..

That opening shot angle really suits this car, looks menacing! Imagine when the technology allows to get rid of those bumper headlights, they are the equivalent of pop up headlights in my mind..
This car was so close to look and feel like something from Cyberpunk Universe, but they overdo in simplicity on the outside and expensive look on inside

saw these a couple of times on the road already and they are SO huge its ridiculous.
but i guess this would not be that much of a problem if they were not looking THAT hideous, you basically have so much bodywork in the front and rear, these are so high and as Max said the lights are tiny in relation to the amount of bodywork.
there was another car channel that did a comparison video between this new 7series and the current mercedes s-class, and honestly the sclass looked small compared to this tank.
this design decision of the front headlights reminds me of the hideousness BMW tried to pull already with the hideousness that was the E65.
i dont get it why they try to do this kind of stuff, what is going on there, the new 2series is also controversial at best and the m2 universally disliked as far as optics goes.
the m3 and m4 are kind of 'accepted' but definitely far far away from the love previous gens got.
thats got to be a sign for BMW you'd think, but no, they are stubborn as hell, leads me to believe they want to forcefully re-educate the customer base or sit at least out a couple generations of buyers until the core buyers for this kind of look are old enough but bmw wants them to see these designs on the road already.

I quiet like this one, at least it's so over the top that it finally makes for something cohesive like a concrete bunker, unlike the rest of their recent line-up.

I only like the front fascia in black, it does have a cool look to me in black. I love the back, the rear to me is perfect. The side view doesn’t flow sexy enough for me, there’s something wrong I can’t put my finger on 😂. It’s too boring.

It's true that the previous generations were better looking, yet, One cannot say a car is bad just on the basis that one didn't like the design, which is really subjective.

You can feel how Max is disgusted by the approach BMW has taken nowadays. So do I. Someone can say its a "Bangle" rant all over again, but ask yourself, which generation aged better e38 or e65? I dare to say the e38 takes all. It's all gimmick nowdays. Every interior from 1st to X7 is horizontal, curved cheap tablet with some cheap NFS hud. No button to change ventilation, or whatsever. Led stripes everywhere, with tablets in handrest just waiting to be broken. For years we were training our muscle memory to change a setting without even taking our eye from the road. Now tacktic feeling is "obsolete". I bet that for next gen, they will start charging extra for "vintage" controls do give some option for customization. Heck I was even thinking it might happen this gen, when Alpina no longer able to tune and release EV panzerwagon, at least offers an interior redesign. Sheesh, what times we are living in. I'm skipping this whole EV generation sticking to my G12 in a hope that e-Fuel will restart V12 era.

Well said, I'm on my 2nd 7 series and currently have the LCI G11 with the big grilles, but this new one is too much and far too big for the UK, such a shame.

This is not a drivers car. The rear seat setup is one of the best you can buy, even beating Mercedes, Bentley and maybe even RR. The suspension is also set up for the most comfortable ride. Although I know the previous 7 was also a drivers car, this is focusing much more on a different target group.
you can press the button to open all doors so the vip driver don't have to open the doors for the clients, I guess.

Also as a current teenager, I think that they are preparing for the future. I love the new iDrive 8 and completely understood it in a week. It's better for them as a company to be prepared for future buyers already instead of be late to the game. I can see this from a corporate standpoint. But yeah, it sucks if you've been used to old cars. I don't like the new 7 series as much as the m5 f90 tho or the new m3s. I rather have those.

The Chinese forums hate the new 7 series' designs too. BMW wanted to be a bunch of smart asses and appeal to the supposed "young rich Chinese demography" and flopped straight on their face.
