That button thing at the bottom front of the book nook, does that do anything? Thought it might turn the lights on and off but does nothing for me

It's a motion sensor that should turn the lights on when someone approaches the book nook. The switch on the battery box has to be in the On position for the motion sensor to work. When you first switch power on, the lights come on for one minute and then shut off automatically if there's no more motion. Wave your hand in front of the motion sensor, and the lights come back on for another minute.
