Here again, the Argentinian, the other time I said in one of your videos that I thought the nimbus were better than the 1080, which I was wrong about, and I'm here to agree with you, because I went to buy the nimbus and when I tried them on, they were too tight and too big. Quite the opposite of the new 1080, which are very comfortable and light. In the end, I bought the new 1080 v12 and now you are getting the v13 hahaha, you are a genius and thank you very much for your videos and advice, I am going for my first marathon in Buenos Aires. 42 k so later I will tell you about my first experience, greetings and finisher hug
I have three pairs of shoes that I rotate right now. My main daily trainer is the 880v13. I also use the SC trainer v2 for long runs and recovery. I have the Rebel v3 as well and mainly use it for my faster workouts, intervals and 5K's. When I bought the 880's I also tried the 1080v12 and while a bit more cushony, the 880's felt better and had more response in toe off. I'm curious to see how the new version of the 1080 is compared to the v12. One other comment about New Balance. Of all the shoes out there, NB fits me the best. I ahve wide feet but also have mortons neuroma. NB is one of the few companies that have many width options, even in their race day shoes unlike other brands. Great reviews by the way!
I’ve never tried a new Balance shoe and after listening to your review of v12 and v13 and was going to buy these shoes. I found they changed the drop changed from 8mm to 6mm. :(. Not ideal for my high arch. Also, just fyi for others, I bought the triumph 21 after listening to your review and others’ and was disappointed to find I got the same pain as I did from the Ride 14 under my left metatarsal area just from walking. Never even was able to run in them. Such a shame because the triumph arrived this week and what a beautiful shoes. My right foot was thrilled! So far glycerin 20 and nimbus 24 have been working so we’ll see what I think of the nimbus 25! Good luck again with your NYC marathon!
What a great time to be a runner. So many great options from every company...from the boston 12 to the speed 3 to the nike alphafly...take my money take my money take my money
I have a lot of trouble finding shoes with a roomy toe box so I ordered a few to try and am returning the shoes that did not work for me. I returned the Brooks Ariel 20. I am returning the Hoka Clifton 9. I just tried the New Balance 1080v13 and absolutely love them! I think they have more cushion than the Hoka Clifton 9. I went to the Asics factory outlet store, to try the Asics Gel Nimbus 25. I always liked the look of the Asics but the toe box was always too tight for me, even in the wide size. The Asics Gel Nimbus 25 was very comfortable to me. The store also had a buy one pair, get the second pair 50% off and a coupon for another 10% off, so I bought two pair which came to $108.00 a pair! I just wish they made a round toe box with a little more width.
I've migrated from the 1080 to the 880 for daily trainer due to cost and outsole wear but I'm always interested in this line as it is a good recovery shoe along with the More. The thing I liked most about the 1080v12 was that it is wider than true-to-size. I always have to size up for shoes that are true-to-size because TTS isn't wide enough for me.
big fan on the 1080.., I ran in the 10.., and I have the 12 ., though I have yet to run in it.., I got the permafrost version on the cheap.., for the winter running season.
Very exciting to see this! Would be very interested for a head to head against the Triumph to work out which is the most versatile daily cushioned trainer.
+1 on this! I'm replacing my 880s by the end of the year with something more cushioned now that I have speed day shoes (Rebels V3, LOVE them), and I'm down to 1080s or Triumphs. I was leaning towards Triumphs but the v13 looks like it might keep me in the NB world.
@@Martin-kc1xj I like NB but Triumph gets such consistently rave reviews from everyone and seems quite light so I’m thinking that’s the way to go for me. 1080 maybe sounds slightly bit softer less responsive? More towards just easier days?? 🤷♂️

Triumph is a bit bouncier for sure, but I don't feel as comfortable picking up pace in them at all as they feel clunky to me. I think all of this is personal preference though really.
Hi Em. The shoe looks quite interesting. I'm a bit cautious after buying the previous version which was uneventful. The best NB show ever I believe they said.

Great review! How would you compare the 1080 v13 to the cloudsurfer 7? I was kind of looking into either one as a daily trainer based upon the reddit reviews and this one.
@@Martha-fluterunner I personally did not enjoy the v11 or v12... I've ran in all of the previous iterations of the 1080 from the first one that NB put out back in 2011. 1080 is lower to the ground so you might have some better luck with that. It doesn’t feel like you’re sitting on top of a platform like you may have felt with the More

This is a good option but if you want something with a little more energy return I’d suggest maybe the Supercomp trainer v2 for days you want to pick up the pace. I’ve done all kinds of runs in that shoe and it works pretty well

I wouldn’t say it feels like fuelcell really. It’s still a lot softer with more give. That being said, I do feel like it’s a good training companion to the sc trainer. It’s more pillowy so I’ve been using it for easy days
My experience with NB sizing is I'm true to size in their Fuelcell shoes, and need to go half size down in their fresh foam shoes...Any recommendations? Should I go with my same size in the More v4?
This is great, Emily! How high is the ankle collar? I feel like my ankle bones are lower and shoes like the FuelCell SC trainer 2 and the Elite 3 rub and press into my ankle bones quite a bit. Had no issues with the ankle collar height in the v12. Any feedback there is appreciated!
