The new generation doesnt know how express their feelings like this. Those days are long gone. At least we can still hear the old school music. I miss the good oldvdays.
This brought me right back to the 80s, I was in my 30s, just had my 3rd child and loved this song. I would play it on repeat, while swaying my daughter to sleep. She now loves music as much as I do. I agreed with everything you said. Thank you.
I love this group! I play their greatest hits CD in my car. I'm 75 years old and I love all music. I have so many memories of vinyl record albums in my collection. ❤❤❤
I’ve loved Simply Red since my teens. Three of my fav songs are, If you don’t know me by now…Money’s to tight to mention, which has a bit more grit while their song Holding back the years, hits me in the feels. Mick Hucknall’s voice is sublime.
Simply Red has done some great covers and this was one of them. The original was by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes and it was a smash. You might want to check out The Love I Lost and Wake Up Everybody, two of the greatest songs by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. Thanks for this great reaction on Simply Red. 👏👏🥰
I was blessed to hear the original as a youngster & then as a woman with youngsters 😂 a beautiful song for all ages. Simply Red brought back cherished memories with his covers of absolutely great hits!!
I’m watching this straight after enjoying your reaction to Tim Minchin. I’m wondering if Mick Hucknall has ever watched Tim’s hilarious song “Prejudice”. Both of them are very talented redheads. “Holding Back the Years” and “If You Don’t Know Me By Now” were my favourite songs by Simply Red. If you enjoyed this song and would like to see more, there’s a concert on RUclips with the title “Cuba! Starring Simply Red - Recorded Live at El Gran Teatro, Havana”.
I love both. I envy fast runners and great singers. You should check out "Holding Back the Years" live. The crowd is amazing as well as the music. You might have by now...
I thought it was the original, very good. I remember The Soul Group Blue Notes from the 70's but the lead sing on this is excellent. Did you get my Linda Ronstadt Tune?
Agghhhhh!!! I missed this by a day! I LOVED Simply Red and this song in particular was on my playlist (aka mix tape) when I wanted music to cry by!!! I also loved Stars and Holding Back the Years. I love that you look back at these classics that seem to have been lost to time…and it doesn’t seem that long ago. Love your content!! ❤
People aren't face to face. The digital age has fostered the use of buffers and masks designed to hide or blunt vulnerability. Very hard to cover yourself up in person. I think young people and young creators are just out of every-day practice on what actual "engagement" and naked honesty looks like in real life.
I NEARLY subscribed.. but looking at your channel - You missed a trick: No other reactions to Simply Red. RED FLAG! This was not even their Top 5 of mine. Never mind. You just lost a sub. Best of luck with your channel

Holding Back The Years is another song of his that is a must listen to!!
“Holding Back the Years” is another banger from them.

You need to hear his live cover version of Brand New. He sings both the high part and the low notes.
He is a very soulful singer and great entertainer.

The original is the BOMB
Teddy Pendergrass sang this with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.

He can sing the telephone book as the saying goes! But nobody can sing it better than Teddy Pendergrass tho! (Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes)

Rapping was the thin edge of the wedge it let anger and talentless artist through the door and it still around like a bad smell .
This is a great version but Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes original is even better. Also listen to Billy Paul singing Me and Mrs Jones
Looks like Simply red is a redhead.See what you said.

SIMPLY DREADFUL
You don't want to hear the original one because it's nowhere near as good as this.
This is a great song in its own right, and Mick Hucknel has a truly great voice, but hes no Teddy Pendergrass...
