Cool video, the only thing that was "Bugging-On-Me" was all the time in the LEFT lane. Passing from the right lane, and getting around, and then back in the right lane is a fun game to keep focus and kill time. Keep safe.

One of the best videos on a 1000 mi ride in les then 24 hrs. Know your route, know your bike, know yourself !! You sound like a DJ. Music or podcast is a must have, I prefer satellite, XM radio. Get in a rhythm, ride the route, don't over complicate it. It's more mental & the bike you ride, I ride a Goldwing, that's a pretty big advantage compared to some bikes. I would advise some people to build up to the 1000mi, maybe do a 600 mi & then a 800 mi. You'all ride safe out there!!

The west is a great place to do IBA rides. Great video and more importantly, excellent audio. How did you get the great sound? Your tips are good ones. I like to get the big miles in early when I'm fresh. As you mentioned, the psychological advantage is big! Nice work....subscribed!

Good video congrats. Did my 1st ss1000 back in April and loved it. Did another one last month on Oct with 3 friends. Mapping out a Bun Burner 1500 in 36 hours now. Key thing I found out is interstate riding, short gas brakes, ride west in the morning and East in the evening that way the sun is always at your back. And make sure your bike fits you! That make for a comfortable ride. Keep up the great videos look forward to seeing more.

I tried to ride west at my last IBA ride. Unfortunately, I rode a mile and got bogged down in the sand and then knocked down by a wave....

    1. Make sure you get a good nights rest the night before the ride.
    2. Hydrate well the night before.
    3. Charge your gear.
    4. Warm Gear, Rain Gear
    5. Cash (Just in case)
    6. Ear Plugs or In Ear Monitors that plug into your comms.
    7. Snacks
    8. Let friends and family know step off and return ETA.
    9. Grab photos and have fun.
    10. Get your buddies to join you.

Good to watch. That gs1250 gas usage is nearing double what my Shadow 750 does, at lower speeds. Might give this a crack

Dumb question but is this organization the same organization as the IronButt Challege? I ask because I have never heard of this "Ride1k-in aday" The Ironbutt challenge has more stipulations it seem. They even have a log you can print out to use as you ride.

No dumb questions! It’s the same ride, but a different org. I went with them because it was far less “hoops” you had to jump through to qualify, and their certificate and patch are legit ;)

I did a number of long distance rides on my R125GSA, which I loved. It is an awesome platform for LDR. I recently sold my GSA for a 2020 R1250 RT. So far, the weather isn't cooperating, but when it does, I'll be out there. I really enjoyed your video. Very sharp and the audio is excellent. What is your mic set up? Thanks so much!

Well done for completing the 1k in a day. I was thinking of doing it this summer and was wondering if it was worth starting in the early evening and finish in daylight, rather that the other way round, like you did? I was planning on taking around 20 hours to complete it with more short, frequent stops along the way, ie. riding 2 hrs max at a time.

Man, that would be brutal. Night time riding has it challenges like visibility, wild life, and drunk drivers.

How did your hands do in those Klim gloves? I’ve been looking for a winter glove, the back of my fingers have been getting a bit cold. Thanks!

    • @joshmorrisofficial

Gloves worked like a dream! I’d recommend pairing them with heated grips or glove liners if you’re riding under 40 degrees

Just got a gs myself was wondering how long it took to break in the seat first day I owned it drove 350 miles and boy my tailbone was sore wanting to do a 1000 mile ride but after 200 I was hating life

That mpg is really abysmal - I get better mileage out of my old Tacoma pickup! When I did my 1000/24 it was on a ST1300 - with the 7 gal tank, I had just about a 300 mile range. Often I had to pee before I needed gas.

Is this a joke? If you’re a riding novice I appreciate your effort here. Otherwise the mistakes in distance riding/riding in general are hard to watch. The hoodie sweatshirt is just the beginning. Not a bad vid though.

I apologize for sounding harsh. The big thing is efficiency-not speed. You were going way too fast for good MPG. Short stops and eating light snacks not big meals. Safer riding. Proper hydration, ect.

    • @joshmorrisofficial
      @joshmorrisofficial  Год назад

@@donn5188 all good, I love constructive criticism! All great points. My MPG definitely suffered, but the time constraint of doing this under 24 hours had me nervous! I did do short stops, 10 min max.
