I'm really enjoying training using your videos. I'm 61 and had a bad heart attack August 30th. Your training is making me feel capable and virile again. I feel 10 years younger.
Hey Hank. I am about the same age as you, but no heart problems thankful. I am disabled, but using Tommy's techniques and philosophies make me feel more confident that i can at least get away or survive in anything happens in the street. Al the best to you, take care.
A cut on the forehead results in vigorous bleeding which streams down, blinding the person and causing a significant emotional shock. I can attest to this after sewing up that type of injury in the ER. It is also unlikely to cause death or critical, permanent injury (other than scar).
I find what he teaches is better than the original. Too many people idolize these old methods and ignore all the development in combat arts of decades.
Can someone proficient in WWII Combatives please demonstrate how to execute the thumb lock from Captain Fairbairn's book Get Tough? I've always had an imense appreciation for the combatives technical methodology as developed by Captain William E. Fairbairn, which was of indispensable utilization by the English, American, Canadian, Australian, Greek, and other Allies during WWII!!! I also currently learn much about the practical application of Fairbairn's combatives system by observing the videos of Tommy Moore!!! However, the instructions for the thumb lock are extremely challenging for my friends and I to practice because the instructions are so difficult to understand!!! The drawings don't even have military insignia discerning who the bad guy is and who the good guy is!!! HELP FROM FLORIDA!!!
Tommy, what is your material source for this? Any documents? I've also seen more US manuals where a lunging stab was used for long distance, but the lunge ended up with a stab to the stomach. Recovering from a deep lunge does require more recovering movement wise than this slash and run.
@@CanadaFree-ce9jn these are my drills based on Fairbairn's OSS video looking at slashes and shadow fighting. I'm adding here two objectives (stun and run) and (stun and finish) but both are in keeping with what's in that vid 🥊🙏
@@TommyMooreww2combatives Thanks Tommy, I have a few of the old books but always like to check sources. I looked at the one Martial Labs has. His gun disarms are very questionable, long distance and no attempt to get off the x. Also, the way he handles the knife is way too lose, a blow to the arm during a fight could dislodge it. Always look at everything and idolize nothing. one of the SOE reproduced manuals of the time even talks about how they had to change H2H methods from what was taught in class to what actually worked in the field.
What does the viewers think about boxcutters and utility knives for self defence you can make an excuse for having a boxcutter or utility knife if you're stopped by the police
wouldn't that be taken as an assault in court though? then you would go to jail. plus know you have people on the corner saying you attacked someone and ran off like a crazy person.

Glad to hear it Hank!
Get well soon! Met Tommy this year, and he is awesome in person too.
