- Today we are going to look at the origin, secrets, timeline, story, lore, mysteries and history of the bob-omb enemy from the super mario bros series. This enemy has been around for more then 29 years and has been seen in games like super mario 64, super mario bros 3, super mario galaxy, super mario sunshine, super mario world and more. But how did they change in terms of design, story, use and gameplay. Well let's have a look, since super mario odyssey and the nintendo switch are around the corner!

I like the design of the Bob-ombs from Super Mario Sunshine. Those Bob-onbs could have been timers in Battle Mode, for instance. The only other Bob-ombs with timers on then are the Timer Bombs in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga (and other Mario and Luigi titles)

Honestly, now that I think about it, what happens to the SM64 bosses after the fight is really dark. King Bob-Omb becomes a rolling ball at the bottom of the mountain, and King Whomp gets demolished, and made into the tower

I have different opinions about Super Mario Bros. 2 than the majority of people I have heard commenting on the game, but some are similar. I did like the bob-omb from its first appearance up to and including Mario 64. It also is included in my favourite Mario game which is listed near the end of my comment and is never mentioned on this channel. I completed the original Super Mario Bros. game for the first time without knowing any secrets or warps ahead of time when I was 3 years old. My older sister (R.I.P) gave me the NES and the game for my 3rd birthday and, as I remember it and as it was confirmed by family members years later, I completed the world 8 castle within half a year. I enjoyed video games so much that I have never stopped since, with the next few games including 2 and 3 upon their release and completed in similar time frames. Final Fantasy would turn out to be my first RPG, but it took a little longer to complete. Maybe that is why my favourite Mario game is Super Mario RPG for the SNES. bob-ombs were in that game as well. Seriously, is No One wondering where this game is, and why it is never mentioned, on this channel?

See the Bob-ombs mechanic was fine back then because it was strongly implied that they were just walking bombs with no sot of conciousness, but now its very obvious that the Bob-ombs are alive, which means its real depressing to take in the fact, that their only purpose in life is to essentially kill themselves in order to have a 40% chance of killing their target. Yes, theres the friends bob-ombs without a fuse, but still

Fun fact: The Bob-ombs first appeared in Doki Doki Panic and were left in for the sprite swap. Nintendo fell in love with them because of the puzzle and trap mechanics.
