A: If you stick to TDM and play during peak hours you should have little to no issues finding matched relatively easily.
Q: "How often do you run into hackers?"
A: I can go weeks without running to a hacker on a majority of these older COD's. Black Ops 2 seems to be the most hacker infested in my experience with most other COD's being significantly less likely to run into hackers.

The dead simplicity of CoD 4 is honestly one of the biggest reasons why the game has aged gracefully compared to other titles of the series. Even around the time of MW2, the games already started to feel bloated with mechanics that made it hard to enjoy without someone using overpowered perks like OMA or wiping out half the map with a killstreak. I know it's pretty much impossible at this rate that Infinity Ward or Treyarch will ever make another game like this again, but one can hope a smaller studio will come around to making a successor.
That's true, but the series had to change it up abit. Otherwise everybody would cry about little or no innovation. I do miss the simpler cod titles though

I've always thought it was weird how much love MW2 gets over CoD4, 4 was always my favorite. The maps were incredible, the guns were fun, even if the few meta guns were a bit strong. You're right on the money about simplicity being more at times. Going through the prestiges and getting the G36C and M14 along the back end of it was always a great time for me. S&D start-up and winging nades, better know your routes, the sniper battles on Overgrown. So many great memories.

I'm glad I was there when this masterpieced came out, we were lucky enough to experience this game. I truly miss those days for real, nostalgia hits harder than barret50...

same man, something about this game just hits different. the only call of duty that I think is impossible to rage at
I have had my share of rages at this game back in the day but as I've grown older it definitely is my go to chill FPS.
The MP44 is actually just a reskin of the AK-47. The iron signt was weird but I liked it.
IIRC they have almost the same stats but the MP44 had a lot more recoil and bounced around like mad. Its been a long time since I played CoD 4 though unfortunately
I never could jive with the iron sights but I did enjoy busting it out every once in awhile.

W1200 is super op with stopping power and steady aim on
The range was always hit and miss for me, but still a super fun gun to use.
