Hi Björn I actually met you last Sunday around 13:00 in Busdorf, but you looked tired and went to sleep (I guess) after putting your window screens in place, so I didn't say hello even though I wanted to thank you for your enormous amount of great videos and ask for permission for my neighbours (who were with me in my car and who are on the edge of buying a M3 but never saw one in real life before) to see MC Hammer closely. You are such a great Tesla ambassador and it would create an earthshake in our small city if we were suddenly 2 families with Teslas and not just me, the crazy guy. That same morning (early) I had a sad/strange case of overheating in my P85D when I was cruising on the almost empty A24. I accelerated to 237ish slighthtly uphill and speed still increasing when suddenly the max speed was limited to 217. It was clearly not a power limit but a speed limit because the speed was held at exactly 217 for about 10Km up- and downhill, and I don't think there was a yellow zone at the top of the KW-meter like in a normal overheating situation. I have found only a few hints towards this on the net (searching for "tesla limit 135mph"), but no exact explanation and they seem to be relevant only for early P85's that hadn't been firmware upgraded (which mine has). Have you experienced that? I must say that not only Danes and Dutchmen are lousy at Autobahn driving. Even Germans switch to the left lane with no respect for upcoming traffic from behind. This used to be much better years ago, but some kind of new brain disease seems to have ruined the once so disciplined German drivers and made Autobahn driving much more dangerous than it was and needs to be. BTW: how do you see that power is limited in the M3? I couldn't see it in the video.

Mate, the shaking is cause the wheels are not properly balanced. Get them check. Also a lot of tyre places wont balance the wheels for 230km/h, you have to let them know you are planning on driving at that speed. maybe get them balanced up to 270km / h for when you get that spoiler. :D
Not a tire balance problem, it was a cheapo tyre pressure send it vibrating indide the tyre until it failed then put the wheel out of balance. See later video he shows the replacement of the sensors.
I only got to overheat mine when Jojo driving between 200 and 260 km/h, and even then it "cooled down" pretty fast, a couple of km at a constant 200km/h and the limitation went away again, even faster at slower speeds. From my tests I concluded that you can drive at 200 to 230km/h without limitation kicking in. The only limitation is that a charge will only last you about 150km at those speeds... ;) What I did not test yet is what will happen if you activate Track Mode for high speeds, which is supposed to increase the cooling potential... @@tyman3331 I trust the EPA range tests, they are pretty accurate if you accelerate slowly and keep a constant speed on the highways :)
@@TheTmat007 What is it called?
Nice test - thanks. Ive driven the Hamberg to Flensberg route, and had a ball.
@Dave Sampson Hamburg to Flensburg.
Burg -> castle
Berg-> mountain
Great video. You're the man!
Bjørn: should i turn?
Also Bjørn: no this is too fun hehe
That acceleration is awesome
Funny and full of useful information...thanks TB
233kph? :O Holy, I can barely hear any difference between city driving!!
This is your best work
Enjoyed this video!
Björn you are one crazy man. I was just coming from Cologne back to Hamburg today and yes you are right - we Germans are some crazy people when it comes to flying on the Autobahn. Even with 100 miles per hour there are always others that want to go faster. Helga approved. Great Video. Studded tires are forbidden in Germany.
"that Audi did not have the Blinker Package :D
Love your videos Bjorn. Hoping I'll be able to afford one someday.
I’m a German citizen and I hate driving “Autobahn” because of the unlimited speed limit. It’s so stressful to drive Autobahn for a long period of time. Still good video :)
And here in France we say it's too boring at 130km/h 🤔
sebxx 😂 it all depends on personal preference. I like to cruise with around 130-150 km/h. It’s more efficient and relaxed.
@@desk0z until you get people constantly overtaking you... just to land in front of you, slower 😒
sebxx that’s true.
You can drive relaxed on the Autobahn though. Just stick a Dutch caravan behind your car.
Bjørn: Hey Nokian...your tires are pretty good...but a bit shaky at 233 km/h
Nokian: At 233 km/h?! Ehm...yeah...well...thanks for the "feedback" **slowly closes the door**
The level of happiness in the "yeah" after you say you're married is a lesson in life XD

24:50 ... 🦟 and this is why I went for the black Model 3 Performance 🤣 looks way less messy after going over 200
Permanent magnet motors are more efficient as a drive motor.
However, induction motors make better supplemental drive motors, since they can be cut off the loop entirely; without adding additional electrical drag.
omg i love this, especially the onramp
One question...aren't you worried about high speed accidents?....Geez....but with the TESLA you are driving, its AWESOME!
Best video ever !!!
Fantastic video!
Ahahahaha ok I subbed. Your commentary is hilarious. "Once you go black you never go back" is priceless
Excellent video, thank you
Naming your car isn't just a Tesla thing, it's a car enthusiast thing. I have a red Chevy Volt/Opel Ampera named The Flash. I even have a vinyl sticker of his logo on the charging door :D
Having driven my 2016 MS 90D in Germany a few times I'm actually surprised by how *quickly* the M3 overheated.
Just a few weeks ago I was able to sustain over 200KM/h, with peaks of over 240KM/h, on a warm Saturday afternoon on the A1 from Puttgarden to Braak. Admittedly I only got ~80KW at Braak due to the fans still going absolutely mental fast.
can't wait to see this with the spoiler!
Studed tires are forbidden in Germany. But we use lots of salt to keep the streets full of slurry snow mud in winter and the cars rusty ;-)
You need to put a FLIR camera on it - before/after.
The left lane is the right lane
today i did 235!...still waiting for my spoiler....since 90 days
Just watch the battery % drop need to see how fast you can go from 100% to 10% - calculate how many minutes you can sit pedal to the floor and then do the practical test!
+Mark Milligan Video coming.
You are fricking crazy Björn, slow down man, I want to see more videos from you! But was awesome, BTW :)
Why slow down? 233 km/h wasn't even that fast. Ask any German.
just a quick note here... in Germany when you drive through a roundabout, you only use you indicator when you exit the roundabout...not when you enter it ;)
Wish Australia had a autobarn
Please attach the Spoiler an test der V-Max of 261km/h...till now a didn‘t saw any Video of M3 which verify the v-Max of 261 km/h
This looks amazing and hilarious german commentary. Anyone with a tesla near berlin wanna give me a ride on the autobahn? Seriously looks like so much fun and is now on my bucketlist.
I would really like to see a Tesla M3 Performance tackle the Nuremberg ring. This is the kind of no compromise EV that BMW should have built. Instead, they make the dorky i3 :(.
And I'm here with my Xsara from 1997..
Let's see how the Audi Etron💩 will do
the etron is fine. but the efficiency is very poor. the battery is not the newest tech so that makes it a little bit heavy but otherwise it is ok.
Audi has much better design and the interior wont be shit like it is in any tesla
Hahaha I love this guy's voice and comments: I was equally entertained by the technical knowledge of this guy as with his hilarious comments: YEES, YEEES, LETS HAMMER IT!!; NOO NOO SCHEISSE!!!, GO GO GOOO!!!; THE SHAKE THE SHAAAKE!!!
