Season 4 Episode 12 "Don't Ever Change"
House and the team encounters a woman (Laura Silverman) admitted to Princeton-Plainsboro after she collapses at her wedding. Her test results come up negative for a variety of common diseases, which leads the team to suspect foul play, but when they discover the woman is a former music producer living in the fast lane until she began to practice Hasidic Judaism, House insists people do not change, and her seemingly rash decision may be a symptom of the underlying condition.

What Kevin said, thank you.
To add to this, the kidney was a little loose for all or most of her life. It wasn't a problem because it wasn't knocked completely loose. When they did the thing they do at Jewish weddings where they put the bride in a chair, lift her up, and dance her around, that knocked it completely loose.

@@001SpecialAgent INTP most the show. J's don't play gameboy, do air guitars, have messy houses, ask others for cash for lunch, etc. J's are life-stable, whether poor or rich they keep the living situation even keel and professional. There are some episodes were he is INTJ, the show is not written with MBTI in mind per character, but the majority of the show he is DEFINITELY an INTP.
some more examples:
House does random acts *sometimes* like acting pout, making loud noises or playing loud music, or doing random acts of kindess. This is NE, but since it isn't *always* he is NOT an ENTP.
House does NOT show the ability to plan ahead nor does he have an ultimate goal in life (Ni), in fact he is listless, and finds himself constantly in need of distraction through puzzles such as medical cases, rubik's cubes, and social drama (Ti). Ti is an INTP's primary function, Ni is an INTJ's.
Similarly, House has a broad spectrum of hobbies and knowledge, as opposed to specialising only in the medical field. His medical prowess lends itself to an INTJ classification but his tendency to solve some cases while using knowledge external to the field displays INTP traits.
People like to say that because House is scathing and rude, he is not an INTP, however this ignores that he has constant leg pain. As an INTP who suffers migraines, I can tell you I can be very scathing during one.
Anecdotally, as an INTP with an INTJ mother, I can see similarities ot the both of us, but House more often acts similar to myself.
It is a common agreement among internet INTPs that House is most INTJ in the first season, and afterwards is more INTP
Internet INTJ's on the other hand seem to give zero ground or credence to the INTP claim in their discussions (although it is not something any forum has argued about in either case). I assume INTJs would feel that this gives their claim more credence, but to an INTP the fuller truth is expressed in the side that admits partial wrongness, rather than the side that doubles down.

I typically agree with House, but I actually do think that people change. If a guy who thought he was invincible goes through some near-death experience, it changes that person -- now, he fears death and is therefore more careful about his own actions. Of course, the definition of "change" is open for interpretation.
Another example is the loss of fear of death many get from a single experience with certain psychedelics. On the other hand, it might just prove the rule that it takes a strong external influence to make a big internal change. Smoking cessation after a heart attack would fit that too...
Not really a change is it, feeling invincible is just that, a feeling, it is not a reality.
This is an old comment but i reasonate with this a lot. My personality shifted due to trauma and i feel like im very far from the person i was for good and bad.
As he points out, Alcoholics that quit the bottle never truly stop being alcoholics, just as smokers can throw away the pack, the urge will stay with most of us for the rest of our lives to come degree or another, you just get better at tuning out the cravings.
I entirely changed my personality a few years ago and went somewhat religious. I feel like this is closer to what I was supposed to be if I wasn't discouraged and put into a societal box. People do change.
