    summarizing this for myself :P
    1. during the day just remember to move around
    2. when you're hungry, first drink a glass of water
    3. if you're still hungry, eat some protein
    4. if you're still hungry, eat in small portions at a time so your brain can process
    5. wake up at a consistent time each day (not possible for me I do figure skating so I wake up at 5 on practice days and need my days off since I have schoolwork and cant stay up that late lol)
    6. leave devices outside room

    I love the "work smarter not harder" which is suitable for "lazy" people like me. Yes, I think I need to work on my sleep rather than keeps focusing on exercising. Thanks for the tips.

      I got my sleep under control and lost 50lbs now that I am not getting enough sleep again my weight is coming off way slower. I ignore ppl who said sleep is really important but they were right. Plus when you are well rested it’s so much easier to be active and even kind of hard not to be with all of the new energy.

    My husband has lost 18 pounds in 3 months. He stopped alcohol except for weekends. He drinks one cup of coffee in the morning instead of juice. He isn’t hungry until 1 or 2 pm and he eats eggs with hot sauce for his first meal. We eat dinner by 6. I’m very proud that his A1C is normal and so is his cholesterol.

      The coffee on an empty stomach in the morning is, ironically, not that good for you. It'll boost cortisol/stress. which feels good...but makes it hard to lose fat. A good hearty meal for breakfast and a light dinner will be better for this. Low cortisol actually inspires your body to WANT to eat in the morning, it's a self-feeding habit once you start it. Sounds great overall though! You can't always fit the "ideal strategy" specially if you like coffee mornings.

      @ we put heavy whipping cream in the coffee so it is like food. You don’t get hungry for hours after having it so it’s not like juice first thing in the morning which really spikes insulin and makes you always hungry.

      Congratulations, I'm so happy for him.
      I live in Africa and eating low carb is sooo expensive here but I know the benefits of it : one hardly feels hungry on a low card diet and the food noise disappears after 7 - 9 days.
      After a while you are satisfied with only two meals and if you are not mindful you can actually forget to eat or eat too little: but one shouldn't forget to eat because it will mess with your sleep.

    Another cool thing about building muscle. The more muscle% you have, the easier it is to maintain through exercise. Once you hit your goal and are satisfied with how you look, you can easily start coasting and maintaining, so think of the beginning as the hardest parts, and an investment for being "lazier" in the future. I started out almost 2 years ago, at 250lbs, and I was working out an hour a day, and eventually even 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. Now I'm almost 100lbs down, close to 10% body fat and almost 45% muscle, and I only work out about 30 minutes a day. Coming off of hours, it feels lazy, but knowing what you're doing and working out more effectively, you're still getting enough to maintain and maybe even a little more. But at this point you won't care about growth and progress... Just maintaining. So it becomes far easier, and far less stressful. Hang in there! It gets easier.

    Good advice! The most important is not to "be on a diet" but make it a life habit you can sustain.
    For me this works:
    1. Time restricted eating: Lunch 12:30, dinner 19:00. stop eating at 20:30. (Only water/black coffee from 20:30...12:30 ~16 hours)
    The black/white makes it easier to control and after some time you get used to it.
    2. Weight monitoring: If I exceed my target weight I do 48hour fasts (Thursday 20:30 until Saturday 19:00)
    At my metabolic rate (man, 56, 6ft4, 184 lbs, office job) I lose about 290 grams per 24h, so lets say 600 grams from one 48h fast.
    Note that fasting may have major health benefits, for me it is the only thing that works and got me from 210 lbs to 184 lbs in a year.

      Have you been monitoring whether you are losing muscle as well question mark I did something similar a few years ago and 40% of my loss was muscle. I’m older and it’s much harder to recover from them so I am being very careful careful.

    I have been waking up at the same time every day for 4 years. I still am so groggy for hours after waking up. The few times I let my self sleep in an extra 3 hours, I wake up feeling way better and function way better. Unfortunately my job requires me to be in before that time. Years ago I was out of work for 3 months and I was able to follow my natural rhythm and I ended up in the best shape of my adult life. Then I got a job and was back to square one in a matter of months.

      I was having trouble waking up and feeling groggy for a few hours. A friend told me to take 5-HTP and fish oil, plus magnesium. It did wonders for me just after a few days. I also take a little melatonin before bed. Hope that helps

    It’s not about being “lazy”. You can be lazy and slim. You can be slim and unhealthy. Weight is just calories in v calories out. Health is about a balance between healthy eating, sleep annd exercise.

      It's because she's so clever and speaks quickly - a lot of people don't have the mental stamina to process that. But that's fine - she has a niche audience of people with very active minds :) and hopefully for the sake of her business, that niche audience will grow

    Another tip is keep eating enough, especially high protein foods but also calories in general.
    So many attempt to lose weight by starving themselves with huge caloric deficits. At some point they resort to overconsuming because hungry all the time.
    A 200 kcal salad is no meal and will only make you more hungry. I eat 2 times a day, once like 800 kcal and other around 1200 kcal. That gives me a 500 kcal deficit while feeling full the entire day, so I never have to snack in between.

      What does your 1200 cal meal look like? That sounds like a lot in one sitting. That's what always throws me off on reducing meals or snacks. Are you male or female?

      wow, wait. 500kcal deficit and you eat 2'000kcal? I'm female and if I would be under a 500kcal deficit I only can eat around 1'400kcal a day xD I need around 1'900kcal... As a man it is easier than as a woman XD

      @@andreareed4694 I basically eat everything, no restrictions in any particular macro. Today made pasta, with creamy sauce, parmazan, bacon and added peas. Afterwards some yoghurt with nuts and fruit.

      @@naitomea14 I'm in a 20% caloric deficit daily. For a female needing 1900 kcal that would be 380 kcal deficit. It takes longer to loose a kilo of fat, but you typically weigh less to begin with because a smaller body.

I don't count calories, but I eat once a day warm, and the rest of the day I eat a little bit chocolate (without sweets, I will get cravings for a lot of unhealthy food) and tomato salad or similar. But thing is, I did not follow the diet very well the last few months and lost about 4kg in the last 4months xD My goal is to get 55KG. I'm right now 66KG and I'm 159cm. So right now I'm 3KG overweight. Last year I was once about 62KG but I was on a crazy diet without a lot of cheatdays. Now I will get more cheatdays now and learned from it :D

    I love the "you can do it" at the end of each of your packed-full, excellent videos because as I have now said time and again, I AM doing it because of Coach Viva. I don't remember being overweight any more (just saw a photo from about 3 years ago or so when I was 30 lbs heavier and I am starting to forget that had been my size). What I have done, and am still doing, is to swap the smallest choice I have to make at any time during the day with a health-forward choice where it makes sense to, and to accept that sometimes it is the treat choice that wins out. But having done this literally month after month after month now, here I am, 30 lbs down (which was my initial goal) and I do not fluctuate from that more than a pound or two which I can quickly contain. The secret for me was in Richa's "you can do it" because this is what let me cancel defeatism and embrace a sense of experimentation. I was already 30 lbs heavier than I wanted to be so I figured, what did I have to lose if I decided to flip the script on eating more than I'd intended. Instead of flogging myself for it, I starting looking at it as a chance to see how quickly I could recover my motivation to keep going. Instead of ruining a whole day, I managed to corral it into "ruining a meal" and even then I stripped out the sense that I ruined anything. It just became part of my portion control rhythm. I may have eaten more than planned at one point, but I looked at how to eat a little bit less than planned over a longer time and thinking of it this way, I stopped feeling subject to the risk of big swings. If I wanted the cake in the breakroom, I had some, but tried out taking a thin sliver and leaving the vicinity of the cake to eat it so I would no longer think of having more cake. I started paying attention to the dopamine hit on my tongue and in my mouth when I thought of my danger foods, and really looked at what did it actually take to create satisfaction. The answer was a revelation to me - a very small amount compared to the bags of chips or the tub of ice cream I would down. So I got okay with splitting a cookie in half or weighing out 50 grams of ice cream, eating it, relishing it and being DONE with it till the next time came to eat something. It amazed me how much more drawn I became to protein-laden foods that led me to feeling full enough for long enough to let food sit and not be occupied by it. I went on to do other things of interest that were not paired with food. None of this was big or a switch-flip. I just kept trying it out and witnessed the pounds come off and my pant sizes shrink. My current goals to strive for: eat a bit more protein than I now do and get a bit more sleep than I now do. It is not for weight loss anymore. It is for consolidation of my attainments. I can do it!

      @@JenJen_1Fitness If you were asking me, I have not tried Herbalife or any other product, I achieved my results by eating the same food I always ate, just less of it and learned to pay attention to what feeling satisfied felt like. That was the big win and I had to practice it to trust I had it, and I did not need to be perfect at it. Just overall regular at it and it summed up to 30 lbs gone and trusting that I did not need to ultimately exert either willpower or "won't-power." I neutrally kept track of what I ate and aimed to stay within a modest calorie deficit. It has worked for me now for over 2 years.

    I only walk less than an hour a day and doesn't eat that much protein because I'm too lazy to even bother about that. I then decided to just fix my sleeping time after noticing that most of this channel's video kept leading to "better sleep" in order to lose weight. I sleep 7-9 hours a day with adding 15 to 30 mins nap before lunch, it helps me a lot, I now have the energy to care about what kind food I eat and I could walk more. I lost 8kg in just 6 months without starving or exhausted.
    So guys, the point to lose weight is really just a better sleeping schedule.

    Thank you for reiterating that we don't need to do 3 hours of hard exercise each day to lose weight. There are so many other factors involved. Mine is age and the extra weight I carry already. It makes any progress frustratingly slow. But as you make clear, even slow progress is progress.

      Three hours would probably be excessive, but there are other reasons to exercise every day besides weight loss. So even though it’s caloric intake that makes the most difference in weight loss, it’s actually exercise that makes for vitality and health span. Take it from someone who concentrated on, the calorie cutting part was pretty successful, but it now struggling with the fitness and strength part had an age when it’s all much harder.

    The step goal explanation is excellent here! I always just go all the way and fail, shooting for a high target if I just did it 1 or 2 days in a row. If 3 weeks feels hard now, that is a huge clue that I need to start lower. This is breakthrough level stuff for me!

    "Wake up at the same time" Hard to do when you're working in shifts 🥲 my sleep schedule changes completely every week.
    I do love the slowly increasing step goal idea though, I tend to try to get 10.000 every day and end up frustrated when unable to achieve it.

    Thank you. Only one problem was geographic location. In northern hemisphere sun rises 8-9.00 am at winter and in summer sun sets for a few hours. So either you are tired all the time or can't sleep because there's too much light. That's why nordic people use bright light lamps in winter and block sunlight at summer to get enough sleep.

    I know it’s hard to include it every time, but there are tons of things we can do for weight loss, but in my own case, it wasn’t until I got very clear why I wanted to change my habits which actually had less to do with weight loss and more to do with Feeling less controlled by food and wanting to feel more vitality in my life.Sa even coach admits that she didn’t get serious about looking at what was really necessary in the totality until she had a health scare. My own was that I just couldn’t imagine spending my last decades on earth continuing to have this struggle with compulsively eating low nutrition foods.

    Awesome! Very informative! If you could make one for Perimenopause. It hits women in 40s sometimes late 30s or early 50s. It takes up to 10-12 years to transition to fully menopause.

      You can start running! Start by doing a mix of walking and running, then slowly increase the running and decrease the walking.

    Im glad she mentioned that our bodies have no concept of a weekend. I keep telling ppl who say "don't eat after 7pm" Our bodies don't have business hours. 7pm might be ideal for some ppl, but it work nights and 7pm is the beginning of my day.

      Drinking water when you're feeling snacky. Finding things to do in the day (I find that I feel the most snacky when I'm the most bored, and when my brain or body is engaged in something, I practically forget to eat). There's also the method to let yourself snack, but to snack on low calorie foods. Fresh popped popcorn (without the slathering of butter), baby carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes. Things that are easy to pop with a little crunch or squish while also being insanely low in calorie. I have some Orville brand smart popcorn that makes 5.5 cups (a massive bowl) of popcorn for only 100 calories. I can rarely finish it myself, and it keeps me satiated well into my next meal time, and even causes me to eat slightly less during them because I'm not as hungry. Seeing as about 1 tablespoon of most salad dressings is around 100 calories, you can see how far this popcorn goes. These methods may not work for everyone, but I have found that they work fairly well for me. Especially popcorn and hobbies. I can't tell you how much less I found myself snacking and eating in the day just by finding something to do on my days off that didn't involve sitting in front of the TV or on the computer mindlessly watching videos. I hope some of these can help you, and I wish you luck on your food journey. A healthy body only starts from a healthy relationship with food. Too much or too little or taking extremes will always result in a toxic one.

    You said something really, really important ☝️: a lot of people who are overweight use food to compensate (something) and that's the main point they are overweight/eat too much or the wrong things.. i was overweight almost my whole childhood and also as a teenager and never got help from my family to lose weight ... now i'm 31 and its the first time the weight loss is working, mainly because i know that i'm compensating a lot through food AND because i found the right diet for me. I like your videos very much!

    unlike the other videos I saw of them trying to lose weight and how they did it, I felt like this one was directly to me. This video made me finally have that motivation I’ve been waiting for. I’ve always thought I just had to do hard core exercises and be on a strict diet/calorie count, but now I realized all I have to do is be productive, get enough sleep, and consider if I want to consume junk foods.     Eating really nutritious and filling food but with lower calories helped me a lot + doing 1 or 2 hour of Just Dance every other day and resting!

    It is so sad to live in a country with an active war, as i dont even have an opportunity to maintain my sleep cycle, i need to constantly monitor all the information, constant phone, a lot of waking up in the middle of the night:(((( hope at least the first two would help a little but my motivation is at its lowest

    What I found was similar. A lot of people jump into structured exercising and diets. I really wanted to lift weights and get strong so heres my perspective. This is gonna be long but hopefully it helps people with different goals. What I find is just be aware of what you eat and try to eat foods that have fiber and get a high percentage of their calories from protein. I like to have staple meals and recipes that are easy to make and I enjoy but they’re also really nutritious. It takes time to find foods that both you and your body like. For things like social events or when I go on vacation or even on my period I’m more relaxed about my diet. I count calories, but not excessively. I make ballparks and that’s good enough. I made the decision to not count the calories in fruits. For social events and vacations I don’t count at all. In order to gain weight you have to eat at least 500 cals over budget for about a week straight. Basically, you’ll be fine. Live life. Eat some pizza at a friends house. Just don’t let that discourage you and don’t do it every day.

    I have been doing the same with IF 16:8 without any diet just reduced the quantity of what i eat and lost almost 3 kg in past 10 days I added few things like eating salad at first then eat rest, mild walk for 10 min after each meal and my last meal is at 6 pm not more than that and having cinnamon green tea at night and I also try to walk 6000 steps everyday....

      I tried IF when I was in uni and it really worked for me. Sometimes, I was so busy I forgot to eat. But since I left school, the only thing I think of is what I'll have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'm tired. Even thinking of IF makes me feel lightheaded

    This is so informative! I would definitely add counting calories for those who have the time to do it. We often underestimate calories of food we eat and ir ends up stacking up.we need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. (

    i did all 7 days and want to do more ivefelt so motivated to do more work outs after! sadly i didnt record my thigh size on day 1 but i did for the last day of 7 so before my day 7 workout i was 49. ? same as april and now i am 47.7 aswell the same as april!

    8 19....... But gaining muscle doesn't necessarily mean gaining actual larger muscles. Sarcoplasmic hypertrophy may make the muscles look bigger, but it does mean the actual muscle fibers are denser. Strength training is always good to do, whether or not muscle is visibly put on or not, it's just the increase in muscle density that increases the metabolism.

    For heart health you need fast heart rate sustained for 20-30 mins a day. Weight including body weight like yoga is also important for bone health though. But yes if any of these are difficult then a brisk walk w a hill or 2

    We do one treat meal a week, we stopped going out to eat as much, we added more produce to our diet and cut the meat. Sugar consumption is way down. We don't deny ourselves food, we just eat less of it.
