@@arisfaria2723 which is totally fine, like skating, there’s a whole commitment factor behind. This was as funnier then 90% of stand up comedy! MORE entertaining then almost every drift video I've seen!! Idea to make drifting better: light random stuff on fire, get hammered, talk mad shit, and hit the wall!!
I disagree with a few things. 1 clout chasing. I’ve watched a bunch of lone star, one of that seems to be preached on this channel, is using social media/RUclips to build a brand that you can take to sponsors and turn drifting in some level a business. So you need people to follow and like you. So how do you achieve this without some level of clout chasing? 2. Ppl that only drive 10 laps. Who cares what they choose to do with there track time? They are supporting then event $$ and there not taking track time away from anyone. They literally are the best thing for try hards and seat time guys. Love the channel. Keep up the videos
Man I if I had a dollar for every time someone suggested building an American Ebisu or Nordschliefe (for the track guys) I could probably build both lol. We can't copy the magic from Ebisu, the whole "vibe" of the place is way more than the track layout. Pretending that the funding was already available, I think it'd be better for the scene to build multiple local drift/circuit courses instead of going all in on one crazy facility. Edit: plus the fact that a lot of the Japanese tracks are more accessible in terms of price/availability. I can't just rock up to my local US drift track and run it unattended on a Wednesday or something.
Chelsea preaching the gospel of drifting. Wish I heard the good word of cheap reliable seat time cars before I spent too much on my car, but I’m following the word now! Seat time>all!

Before this video I didn’t know much about Chelsea, besides being the guy who drive’s the mustang. After watching this video. I have the most respect for his passion of driving. And I understand where he’s coming from. Much love to Lone star and Chelsea!
Im from Maine. I drift 5-6 times a year in an FRS and you guys and the other people on this channel are what makes me more interested in going further and doing road trips/vacations for drifting. Plan to keep driving and not go broke doing it with my 200 hp massive angle car. :)
FD needs to be cameras in and on each car so they can cycle car cameras during the runs. Instead of just drones and stationary cameras on the ground. Then the crowd can see the distances between, etc.. That shouldn't even be a huge investment either.
As a "casual drift fan"; the problem with this conversation is that both these guys literally live for drifting. Drift is unfortunately a niche market, especially here in the states. As a reined cowhorse trainer, I'm aware that what I do isn't for everyone and there isn't endless money to throw at it. If you live in a niche market it's hard to look around and realize that not everyone lives for what you're investing your life in.
I’ve listened to and copied a lot of Chelsea’s e36 recipe. Now when spectators and other drivers are hyped on my driving and simple car setup at events I point them towards Chelsea’s channel. Tell them to watch every single video from the beginning. The information is out there, people just don’t put in the due diligence. I can’t imagine the frustration levels he experiences.
Nate is absolutely fukin amazing! He somehow got in touch with me when he heard i was creating Villains Sportsland for Assetto Corsa... dude was MORE then supportive and helpful, making multiple trips down to the track and taking tons of photos and measurements for me so we can get it dialed as best as possible. BIG THANK YOU NATE!!! cant wait to meet u in person soon as this Cov*d shit blows over and i can take some time to come watch yall throw down on the track!
Chelsea. I have followed you for a long time, since the early e36's. I just wanted to add a thing about the ask-holes. I think, people just see this cool thing and want to try it, once they feel they got a hang on it a bit, the interest just fades, I think, that is a normal thing in new hobbies. And another thing - unfortunattely, those with good money try a lot of hobbies, so the ones in a not so great situation (like me, f.ex), get mixed in with all the ask-holes. I am trully gratefull for all the tips you give, I have drifted whole nights in the winter, perfecting the lines and understanding the car. (It just hit home for me - "doing the same thing over and over" since I have litterally just wanted to drift my car for hours on end, but due to financial situation, I dont have the luxury to go to such a drift school as yours) I am pretty sure, there are a lot of guys like me out there - who just want to drift over and over again. (I sometimes dream, if I had a lot of money, I would just live on the racetrack)
Piedmont drift in NC has built their track in the parking lot of a drag strip. They also just built last year what they call the boss circuit with a skid Hoon pad at the bottom of the drag strip. It's grass roots at its finest with elevation change and a camaraderie that grows by the month. I love the idea and growth that this local track has brought to the drift scene.
Really surprised to hear him say so many people only do it for the clout and not just to drive. I've been drifting here in the UK for like 5 years now and I'd say 90 percent of the people at any drifting event I've ever been to just want to get as much seat time as possible
Growing up as a teen Ken Nomura and his blitz/Uras 4door R34 w/vsfk's was my favorite driver to watch... and his acting weird on camera was hilarious in the "option" videos.
that is a common theme in many in many areas of life, not just drifting. when the teacher teaches some students feel like they don't have to implement. if the student knew everything then they most likely would not be in the entry level student environment; love the part when he starts talking about crack
Im in IT. The amount of people who just wants me to "fix their shit" when they ask me "how to do this or that" in too high to count. Or the amount of people who wants a baller PC with as much lights as possible and best parts, just to say they did is astonishing... I can't. That chase for the Clout is what kills everything.
The start of this video and that the moment he got heated made this for me. It's interesting watching both of you over the past year since getting into drifting because I love how Chelsea even points out that he's the truth teller. Even watching this video getting down to earth. I laughed because I thought it's one of the channels I go to almost for a bit of therapy. I always felt on the same page as Chelsea but this video really cements it as there's a lot of fake wannabes out there and in my experience, even some of the people I used to look up to made me lose interesting in drifting and get upset some individuals as I don't think we need it. It in such a fun atmosphere. Also, the fact that wearing it for the driving is so true, but unfortunately there's companies and poses that are trying to build up some fame which is particularly the part that turns me away as I feel creates a barrier and people like them tend to be full of themselves and look down on others, especially the beginners and pick with no experience drifting or mechanically! Keep up the great work both of you, I'd love to see you down here in Australia one day.🎉
I’m new to the drift scene but not the car scene and Can’t wait to finish up my car and be a part of all the fun! Im a mechanic, fabricator, and driver and can’t wait to just be able to help out! Much love Chelsea
I know it's not the solution, but one HUGE game changer for fans is in-car footage. Even as a driver, I never realized just how intense the in-car of an FD car is compared to the outside footage. If each driver had a livestream in-car for the fans, they could definitely feel the intensity a lot more.
100% agree about what you said about Chelsea! He really just seems like such a down to earth dude who loves drifting and having fun, and who just so happens to have a camera on him sometimes. Vaughn, Field, Tuerk, Aasbo etc are all epic drivers and seem like great people, but they've got a bit of that "celebrity" vibe to them. Chelsea just seems like a real down to earth funhaver!
Hopefully the people that needed to hear this made it till the end. Keep poking the bear (Chelsea) to get him fired up. Makes his answers even more passionate.
Great video as always. You guys are always the best just ranting on stuff. Keep the videos coming. Also show us Jordan's F80 Build soon please I'd love to hear that interview or see you guys rip it.
@@SiljoX it was basically chealsea calling out the takeover guys said you knwo when i am come at me if you have a problem and all that sort of thing and saying they're ruining our car culture
Hoonigans dudes, Lz, and Taylor Ray each different in their own way but still all the same inspirational but I was inspired before youtube by the NoDrft guys never saw drifting before until I randomly showed up to race go karts and they had an event going been a huge fan boy for 8 years because of them
I'd love to see Forrest Wang on drift week. I have been following him since 2010 the start of his FD career and he is sort of an anomaly, seems very quiet and reserved but knowledgeable on fabrication. He just shows up at Vegas grassroots events and shreds with the locals too.
Damn chelsea spittin facts! Answering peoples endless Q’s w/no reward sucks. Especially, ESPECIALLY when they don’t appreciate it or do anything with the info you told them.
Chelsea for president! I honestly respect every single thing that comes out of his mouth 🙌 if half the world was as passionate and easy going as Chelsea is I think the world would be a significantly better place
The funny thing is the exact situation Chelsea is speaking on is happening in virtual competitive drifting, You can have someone spend $1200 on a rig and then after 1 maybe two attempts to even qualify they give up. You take the time to help the people that ask for the cheat codes you've acquired whether it be tuning, or technique and more than half the time they either dont listen or dont understand why what your saying is important.
Every event needs an MC! I’m usually driving, and it’s a lot of fun, but one thing I’ve noticed right away from chilling around.... If you don’t know anyone at the track as a spectator, it’ll get a bit awkward and kind of boring. Also small goals or challenges per event will get the spectator involved with the drivers from a safe distance, but the MC will need to bring both driver and spectator into one show for it to work as entertainment.
I think a big issue now days is no one wants to start at the bottom anymore. Not just in drifting either, Basically all of car culture. With the way the lifestyle is portrayed on social media with the big dollar cars, Obscene amounts of money in mods etc a lot of people get turned away because they think they need a certain car built to a certain level to be able to enjoy it. A good amount of the momentum drifting had in the earlier days was as much to do with the perceived accessibility as it was how awesome and exciting it is. The "cool cars" to have were at the time relatively cheap and the mods weren't anything really special because a lot of the big dollar parts didn't exist yet. I think a good way to promote the sport and get more growth would be to get some of the well known influential guys into some dirt cheap cars and use their platform to show people you don't need to spend big to enjoy the sport. I'm not even talking things like Z's with angle kits or anything. Just the cheapest even remotely suitable rwd cars with the absolute minimal mods required to make them work well enough to have a good time. Hell, grab a bunch of busted ass crown vics if Cleetus hasn't driven the prices up yet and give them welded diffs and drive the hell out of them. Half the battle is won getting people "through the door" and you can't grow the higher tiers without first building up the lower tiers to support them.
Why don’t we have more events like drift shifters in fd? Mike puts these events into small areas that are crazy well known, the track is small and technical and the lights and things like that make it semi simple to follow, the point system would need to be cleaned up but I think overall it’s more of a spectacle and doesn’t require crazy high power and high speed drifting
I think I understand part of what Chelsea is saying with you pour time, money and effort into providing a way to learn, a place to learn, the proper instruction, etc. Then the person gets a new thing in their sights and its over with. I think his frustration is not so much the money, the cars, venues that are provided. Its his time. He takes away from himself to provide to strangers. THen they dont care. This is what is frustrating for me. Its not realistic to go to an event once a month simply for costs. But if i had the money to do it id literally drive every day. I eat breathe and sleep drifting and racing in general. Just wish I had the means to do what i want to do. His thing is truly a labor of love because there isnt a fair tradeoff for what he does to help the community around him. I also agree that clout chasing hurts it as well. People are so worried about being the next big thing and their interests lie in self rather than the community around them.
Would love to go to Chelsea school but it's way too far away. So for now I'll keep practicing in parking lots and watching videos. To help the sports keep doing ride alongs and demos
Chelsea is right, you don't see events in urban areas like you used to. The very first drift event I went to was downtown Detroit at a old train station put on by Midwest Drift Union. I think a good place to build a venue like Ebisu would be somewhere in the Appalachian mountains, but I heard it's impossible to get any land around there. A good way to possibly bring more attention to drifting would be setting up a bunch of cameras and a network to livestream events like Lone Star street legal
@@RaggedyRacingGarage Evan Brown saw the market growing because of Chelsea and took advantage of it, I wouldn't really put all the blame on him though.
this was the best interview! I love when you two talk about stuff its always so damn real and so true but still has great vibe during it! thank you for what you do!
The way I see it, drifting has become a social media attention grab for a lot of people. When you go to a drift day the majority of drivers set up cameras and vlog everything. Very few people go to just drive for their own enjoyment. Also the cars tend to be built up beyond what is needed and have so many problems that drifting a full day isn't possible.
We Need more Chelsea’s, his interviews are important
Can we please make these chats with Chelsea a regular thing!!!

Drift week is sweet, I'm a drag/roll racer but this is like rocky mountain raceweek but for drifters. Awesome
Chelsea is the peoples driver! 1000% a legend of a person! love what he does
Enjoy these interviews and all the knowledge you guys offer 🤘🏻 keep shreddin
Well this was an amazing watch. Good to see legit attitudes 👌
Even Adam look up to Chelsea as well, he has millons of subs but Chelsea is the one he look up alot.
I can’t imagine the frustration levels he experiences.
your videos are very influential, thank you to promote pure driving and hard work to new generations, this interview is gold 👍🏼
(It just hit home for me - "doing the same thing over and over" since I have litterally just wanted to drift my car for hours on end, but due to financial situation, I dont have the luxury to go to such a drift school as yours)
I am pretty sure, there are a lot of guys like me out there - who just want to drift over and over again.
(I sometimes dream, if I had a lot of money, I would just live on the racetrack)
Love this interview because of the passion from both parties
Mad respect to my man Chelsea Denofa.
Very very good interview
Dedication is everything
Piedmont drift in NC has built their track in the parking lot of a drag strip. They also just built last year what they call the boss circuit with a skid Hoon pad at the bottom of the drag strip. It's grass roots at its finest with elevation change and a camaraderie that grows by the month. I love the idea and growth that this local track has brought to the drift scene.
Preach Chelsea!!!!! Your so right, 100% on point!
The algorithm brought me. Chelsea interviews are bomb
😂😂😂😂 Chelsea just wants to drive Aaron let the man drive lol. Great video though. I wish I could drive as much as Chelsea. Love his attitude.
I love Chelsea. Thank you for videos like this Aaron. Also how the heck did I not know that Chelsea had a drift school? Time to enroll.
i love Chelsea so much ( i even take his advice in video games for some reason)
Chelsea is a legend, hope he keeps doing what he loves.
Honestly Chelsea denofa is a main reason I haven't given up on my build. 🤘
Hopefully the people that needed to hear this made it till the end. Keep poking the bear (Chelsea) to get him fired up. Makes his answers even more passionate.
Great video as always. You guys are always the best just ranting on stuff. Keep the videos coming. Also show us Jordan's F80 Build soon please I'd love to hear that interview or see you guys rip it.
cant go wrong with lone star interviews in the afternoon :) keep at it!
Loved chelseas rant about the takeover guys in his last video shouldn't have had to take it down truth hurts
I was saving that video too I wondered what happened to it!
@@acherontiaatropos1 vidoes back up minus the takeover rant
@@willmorey5197 i missed it? in few words what was it about? tnx
@@SiljoX it was basically chealsea calling out the takeover guys said you knwo when i am come at me if you have a problem and all that sort of thing and saying they're ruining our car culture
Hoonigans dudes, Lz, and Taylor Ray each different in their own way but still all the same inspirational but I was inspired before youtube by the NoDrft guys never saw drifting before until I randomly showed up to race go karts and they had an event going been a huge fan boy for 8 years because of them
Awesome content, thanks for keeping up the output 😎
& like most everyone says, great interview with such experience/knowledge its gotta be hard to tap into 👌
I'd love to see Forrest Wang on drift week.
34:27 mannnnnnn Chelsea, I met you at a hyperfest YEARS ago. Watching you guys on YT motivated me to get a G35 sedan, building it up for seat time!!!
Cool video! Love these chats!!!
There is a big life lesson in This interview!
Chelsea has the best mindset for drifting and life
This video made me appreciate Chelsea so much more than I already did like yeah I just wanna drive bro
I love how Aaron asked "who is very influential in drifting"? But to be honest he is one of the most influential people in drifting.
Chelsea is the reason I’m building an e36...he has contributed a lot to this community
I love your podcast style interviews
The subtle mention at 28.39 is great!
A good way to possibly bring more attention to drifting would be setting up a bunch of cameras and a network to livestream events like Lone Star street legal
as a e36 enthusiast, yes he did in fact double prices lmaooo
As a PNW e36 owner. There’s 2 hoarders. Him and Evan lol
Evan brown did
@@RaggedyRacingGarage Evan Brown saw the market growing because of Chelsea and took advantage of it, I wouldn't really put all the blame on him though.
Make BMW great again.
this was the best interview! I love when you two talk about stuff its always so damn real and so true but still has great vibe during it! thank you for what you do!
What a great video. I love you guys
I love how aaron can rile up Chelsea so good so we get some good Chelsea rants.
Love this interview!
