Icelander here, those meetings happen every thursday over the summer months ans there a few clubs here like Fornbílaklúbburinn where if you want to be in it your car has to be over 25 years old and then there is Krúserklúbburinn where you take your cruiser car i believe the meeting in the video is from the former club and we do have a quarter mile and a drift circuit which are mainly/only used in the summer months may til august maybe september but not likely.

I stopped in Reykjavik briefly when I was visiting Iceland and I was surprised at the amount of classic American cars there. It actually looked like a cold, volcanic version of Havana

And this was clearly a very tiny meet by he carclub kruser thats meets there every thursday the car comunity here is very very big hundreds of classic and muscle cars.lots of racecars and driftcars arond and a TON of tuner and imports ..then there is the formula offroad competitions that gives the usa a run for there money .and also a huges rally comunety and races all around the country during the summer and fall we also have 3 racetracks here and 2 dragstrips..so please dont think this is all we have to offer..

The "caught ya looking" Carolla was parked right behind my Dacia when I was in reykjavik (also in August). He indeed did catch me looking! There were definitely a few common US cars that "rare" over there.
When I was in Iceland I noticed 1 thing, they love American culture, especially older stuff. Vintage stuff but in fashion they love the 90s stuff that we would sell at a garage sale for 25 cents. There was a store of vintage jerseys (the crappy ironed on stuff) of players that ducked and each jersey was over $70 american. It was hilarious seeing an old Zach Thomas Dolphins jersey that is worthless here selling for so much and they thought of it as fashionable

Makes you realize how lucky we are in the US with so many cars to choose from, Just looking at the amount from Iceland's capital and largest city, there are more classic / collectible cars just that I know of in a 5 mile radius of me then in that whole show !
Cool that you guys are coming here. But that was not really a car show just a local club meeting/cruise that happens every Thursday during the summer. Also, august is not peak summer it's actually more like the end of summer when it's getting cold again. that being said it never really gets very warm here but peak summer would be June/July. If it's supercars you are after after there is the one Ferrari 488 and the same guy had or still has a 599 GTB. Then there is an old Ferrari somewhere in storage and that's it. There are some Porsches and such sportscars but not more supers. There aren't really any roads to drive them properly.
And to mention the motorsports. I see people commenting here that Iceland has a drag strip like that's the only thing we have. Well the dragstrip also has a small race track that I think is almost done. They already host time attack events as well as drifting. Then there is the Rally cross track that also hosts drifting, rally cross and go karting. Then there is the Rally which takes place on closed off public gravel roads all over the island and off course there is the Formula Off Road. There are probably more categories that I just don't have knowledge off.
@superspeedersrob I’m wondering with all those tickets you have doesn’t that effect your insurance or doesn’t that effect your Driver license or with points? How do you deal with your tickets?
Hi Rob. I was going to e-mail you couple weeks ago in regards to the upcoming Adventure drives trip to Iceland . And if I could somehow assist you when you arrive. But I guess time flies and you also talked about having a guy already.. So somehow I have not yet send you that e- mail. But I will. But in regards to Iceland and cars and car shows. You would be amazed what is actually on the roads over here. In spite the roads contition, weather and gas prices and that there is no real track. Except of drag racing. But that car show is mostly just group of older men that once a week over the summer time meet and cruise together in the old Ford's and Chevy's and then park and chat. Be everyone can come also old Volvo are Corollas with big wing!
I hate 99% of kits on almost any car. But I'm honestly not hating the one on that red(Auto) camaro. Wasnt to bad actually not over the top but still unique/aggressive looking at same time
Hey Rob. I went to Iceland in August. We were walking around Akureyri (northern city in Iceland) and saw a car show there and afterwards they were doing burnouts in the city streets, very unexpected as for the reasons you mentioned. For AD, lots of gravel roads to SOME waterfalls and the speed limits sucked there as they max out at 90kph/55mph. 😒😩🙄. Don’t hit any goats as you might have to contact the owner and pay for it as well as damage to your car. Have fun with it, Iceland is sick!
I stopped going to Hot August Nights in Reno cuz tho I love classic cars, it just got kinda boring... This is my kinda show cuz like that weird Toyota and Shelby-Volvo (ShelVo?), you never know what you're gonna see.

Not a show. more of a meeting of some guys. There have been big shows in big soccer halls with hundreds of cars. in Iceland there are probably few thousand muscle cars and classic cars. But people tend to drive them in the summer time on their own. Some people meet up.
I actually met some of those guy's in sweden at a random gasstation on our way back to the netherlands from the Big Power Meet in Vasteras (sweden), ha thats funny!
As an example, I have been told that the July 2019 Europe trip costs $13,000 but you would need to check with Adventure Drives to be sure. Pretty good value in my opinion. There is some info on the Adventure Drive website.
There is a Car culture in Iceland we drift events with 500hp+ cars and drag Racing and track Racing there are purpose built track cars there are a couple of supra’s skylines you can Find a icelandic car group on Facebook to Find more modified cars in Iceland i live in Iceland
