Let’s hope now that our appliance manufactures can start making machines that actually use water again and have good wash action. MAWGA Make Agitator Washers Great Again
I have the previous version of this machine for 5 years now and it really does a good job but it will go for a walk if the load gets out of balance during spin.
I think this machine did a great job. It had good turnover and used water to get the job done in one wash period. I would consider buying this if I needed a new machine. Speed Queen is out of the question as it is to pricey for mt pocketbook.
Look at the GE GTW485ASWWB. 4.5 cu ft capacity, true dual action agitator, and you can pick your water level. I’ve personally used this machine (my daily is a whirlpool 2-in-1 agitator), and it’s fantastic. Plus it’s usually on sale for $560.
Also, one thing I might add, after having a similar conversation with my mother (she looked at one of these to replace a whirlpool), these are usually $950-999. A Speed Queen TC5 is usually around $1,250. If you can afford the extra $250, then don’t hesitate. Because you’ll save buying the Maytag, but that savings will go out the window once you start paying for repairs 2 years into owning it. Lifespan is also something to consider. Lifespan on a standard High Efficiency washer like this is 4-9 years (this came from the mouth of the Whirlpool technician who fixed my washer), and speed queen is still a projected 20+ years. Ya gotta ask yourself what’s gonna be cheaper in the long run🤷♂️
@@scottwilliams5282 The TC5 may be a better machine than this unit. But these "commercial" Maytag units aren't like the High Effeciency washers your talking about. They have 1 "eco" setting to meet federal water usage rules, and every other setting uses more water just like SQ!. Also, the commercial model numbers ending in "GW"; like the one featured in this video, have full 5 year parts & labor warranties. So the 2 year breakdown costs your talking about wouldn't apply. Again, I agree that the TC5 is probably a better purchase, but these units aren't the same trash as normal consumer units.
If Whirlpool would take this design with this dasher and wash action, and pair it with the looks and features of their "higher end" washers with a reasonable price, this would be the best washer on the market. I'd buy one.
Just make sure you pay attention when you're buying one of these. Some retailers carry models that only include a 1 year warranty rather than the 5 year warranty while looking otherwise identical. You *should* be able to tell based on the model number ending in KW (1 year) instead of GW (5 year), but even Home Depot's website claims their model is a GW but they list the warranty as only 1 year. Read the actual manufacturer warranty information for the unit you're looking to buy to be sure you're actually getting the full 5 year warranty!
I bought this washer in 2021 and recently I noticed it would bang very hard on the spin cycle. It was not the support springs. Maytag is putting a plastic hub bearing on the basket and it had about a 1/4" of play in it. Ben's Appliance youtube channel shows you the upgraded metal hub bearing it and for about $80.00 you can do it yourself and save yourself a ton of money. The machine works as new and no more balance banging problems. I would not overload this commercial Maytag washer unless you are ready to have a repair bill in 4 years of use or less. I am happy with the machine other than this defect with the plastic hub bearing. Maytag would not honor the 5 year warranty for this hub bearing either. I may go with a Speed Queen next time if I'm going to spend over a $1,000 for a washing machine.
How do you cheat the lid switch on this model? I have one ordered, and I want to be able to run it with the lid open. Also, do you think powdered detergents are better than liquids for this machine?
I count eight pants. Six Dickies, two beige/black-pockets Parkside. It would been ten with the black/orange-pockets and green Parkside, which were removed.
Its ok. Its not exactly a SQ TC series. But its exceptional. The agitation could be a bit more better with more grab pull and turn over. And better balance when in spin mode.
If you think this sounds unhealthy then listen to the maytag centennial commercial washing machine... it's an older version. Got the job done. Just like this one. And I like the fact they stuck with the traditional agitator... works just fine

Make Agitator Washers Great Again
Thank you for another great video!! Hoping you’ll post more of this washer!!🤩🤩
I have this washer for 4 years and I love it clothes really get clean! I wouldn’t buy any other brand!
I find videos like this fascinating. My mother had a Whirlpool washer in the 60s. The lid would automatically pop open at the end of the spin cycle.

Awesome 😎 and how’s it going with the pink Maytag??🤔🤔 any updates?

@@scottwilliams5282I don’t think that TC5 can be beat in terms of cleaning and longevity. It’s a beast of a machine!

Lidl, great marchandise ;)
Love your videos! Wondering if you would do one with a queen sized comforter?

I remember one of your videos shot in Greece. Is that where you got the new pants?
My maytag LAT9420AAE washer of 41 yrs is done! I'm looking at the MVWP585GW. Wish me luck...

Do the shifter and hub break on these only after a year?
My Maytag commercial is 2018, is this newer model improved?
What are your thoughts on Pellerin Milnor Laundry Equipment?
Hey can you ever do a video on a RCA 3.0 Compact washer machine and give us your review and opinion on it?
Lidl?

Curious if this machine has the traditional springs at the bottom or the cylinders at each corner.
It uses a hung suspension system, 4 rods from the top.
When did Maytag change to a gavity drain program?
When Whirlpool brought them.
That tub suspension looks and sounds pretty shabby on the spin cycles.
Speed Queen or no Queen.

I thought the agitation was excellent.
@@Nick-xu7wmsame, speed queen has noting on this machine in terms of agitation.
It doesn't sound very healthy. Sorry, I'll get a Speed Queen.

That’s it’s normal sounds. Don’t be picky.

Pitiful compared to the turquoise blue 1960’s Maytag washer. No comparison.😢
Why are we watching this again???
