Great--thanksl
Ive threaded a thousand needles--but did not know that trick to stop the thread coming out. Much better than a half- hitch! 14:09

Thank you for the informative video. I learned a lot. I might have to make me some coasters now :-).
I do need a new mouse pad and I just might use the same techniques to make me one. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful 😊
I have learned so much from you!
Thank you 😊
Great video! When you are finishing a stitch line one something like this that meets up with where you started, is there a preference for back-stitching instead of over-stitching to complete it? Does this provide more strength?
❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
I’ll be starting this project soon. Do you think you need to sand corners smooth so they are rounded? Any finish to apply to protect against a sweating water glass? And a general question about creasing… can you or do you use heat on veg tanned or chrome tanned leather.
Thanks ,
Reminds me to up my game 😊
Thank you 😊
Instead of a back stitch why not continue forward two stitches thus locking the beginning and ending stitches together?
Do you recommend any type of moisture resistant finish.
Thank You!
Hi
I am a little confused about when you use a creaser and when you use a groover ( that cuts in to the leather)
Also...dividers
All make lines but which ones when?
Thank you
Creaser for aesthetics - bring a bit of pazazz to your edges. It is a finishing step, but often you do it before your stitching, as some areas may be difficult to get to after the fact.
Groover for tight folds, to guide a skive or on occasion to 'hide'/'bury' stitching - removing a little bit of bulk where you want a bend makes it easier to have a bend in the leather. You can use it to set a depth for skiving also, which is where you remove thickness. And the hiding of threads may be if you want a flatter seam, with the leather sitting higher.
Dividers - used for laying out and marking up where you may want to punch a hole, or set your pricking iron/chisel for thread holes.
Jo taught me all of this on one of her courses, over three days.
Thank you
Can you not just use an edge creaser as a divider for laying out the stich work ?
Yeah you can do, you are just limited as to how wide that tool can go if you were wanting to put stitch lines in further
@@JHLeather thanks for your response, I ended up getting some mechanical dividers in the end as I was struggling to be accurate with the creasers
Hw do you heat a creaser when you have induction plates? 😂
It's not that fancy 😂 Just a standard electric hob
Enjoyed your video
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
