- Oh boy! I recently remembered a SUPER creepy thing that happened years ago when I was just a little kid staying the night at my great aunt's huge old Victorian house. Time for another one of my personal creepy storytimes!

Maybe the "Wonderland" room used to be a disappointment room... If you aren't aware, A long time ago people who had deformed children, would Lock them away in a room that is out of sight. Hence the name "Disappointment Room" there is a movie based on a haunting that occurred in a house with that sort of room, where the little girl died.
If you haven't heard of the movie based off of it, it's literally called "The Disappointments Room" and it is a real tear jerker.
Okay, was it common for these "disappointment rooms" to be in a normal-sized rooms? I used to live in this house, that was built in 1900, that had a similar room. You were able to lock it from the outside, it was a little door, it was also the half the size of the normal room. Ironically the room where this "disappointment room" (I am calling that) was in my room. It was always hot or even cold - it would be hot on cold days and cold on hot days - and it had zero lighting. I was planning on finding a way to have lighting in there but I moved out before I could. Again, please let me know if it is normal for any "disappointment rooms" to be in a normal-sized rooms because I really wish to know.
tbh it does add up with the weird walking sounds the thing made from madame's story. It might have been a ghost from someone that got locked up in there and died in there.
They also locked mentally unstable or impaired children in the disappointment room which is sickening and terrible :(
That would also explain the shuffling, maybe the child had a deformity that caused them to kinda limp while they were walking or, more in general, that wouldn't allow them to walk properly.

I don't know if this would add to this story but my Mom watched this video recently,and she told me that the room you are describing would have been called a "disappointment room". It was a real thing that was utilized in the Victorian era. They would put "shameful" or "bad" things in this type of room and lock it away with the outer lock. It also happened to be a thing that parents would put "mentally ill" children in these rooms when they would "act up".

Sometimes I just wanna have a risk taking adventure, because sometimes you gotta make things fun and interesting in the only life you been given! So why not fight demons and take evil down and what not. I guess I will need some sword and holy water and some other things and I will be ready for a adventure in a life time! This reminds me of two different experiences of mine one was when i was around 4 or 5 i lived in a old apartment building and according to my mom i ran to her crying about a man in my closet apparently the man was melting and missing a eye and my cat wouldnt go into my room if my closet door was open a year or two later after we moved out my mom learned that there was once a fire in our specific apartment and a man died there i will sometimes have a brief flash of memory about what the man looked like my second experiences was about 4 to 5 years ago i was on my bus heading to school its around 6:45 in the morning suns just starting to rise and i see a clear shadow of a person run in front of the bus i look up and no ones there I did research about that road recently out of curiosity and found out a teen was late to school and ran across the road and was hit by a car the kid died on impact it makes me wonder why me and my mom(she has had her own supernatural experiences) are able to see spirits every so often at certain places but yet there have been many deaths on the road in front of my school and in my school yet we never see anything we've heard and felt things but have never seen them
Perhaps the school you attended, was a more recently built one. I remembered looking up about my old school - because it's been an official school since 1856 but they had changed locations very so often. The first recorded address was between 3rd and 4th streets, just west of Whites Ave - that one later became Horace Mann School and now currently Horace Mann Apartments which was way back in September 1891. They stayed there and it was pretty good until 1902 when a fire broke out and it done an estimate of $80,000 in damage. They fixed it and reopened it back up as a school and students went there for another four years when, in 1906, another fire broke out AT THE SAME PLACE! They managed to have less of a pricey damage this time but they still taught students at that place. Thankfully, the school is no longer there, it is at 26th street. I learned about that and I figured that perhaps not that many ghosts are there. Perhaps you should do the same for your school.

Literally my entire childhood from 6 to 8 was filled with paranormal experiences because my mom thought it would be a good idea to move back to the same plot of land her childhood house BURT TO THE GROUND! And why did it stop after I was 8? BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN IT BURNED DOWN AGAIN!! And just like when my mom was little the police and fireman HAD NO IDEA WHAT CASED IT...AND SAID WE WERE LUCKY NOT TO BE HOME AT THE TIME! So yeah...if you want more details I'd be happy to share with you just like you share with us.

I had a dream my Optimus Prime got into a fight with one of my Grandma's old dolls once when I spent the night. Weird thing is, she lost track of the doll shortly after and I've never seen it again. Your story reminded me of this.

Yes. XP ---Alas, Optimus Prime was crippled during a move from one house to another also when I was little, and he no longer has hands.
That doll might had a evil spirit connected to it. Toys like a otpimis prime for a kid would be seen as good. So it could had been a vessel for a good deity to use and protect you from harm.

There is this one ghost that resides in my university's music building. We *know* she's there, but few have ever had the pleasure of experiencing her presence and shenanigans. I'm not sure if I have, but there was a time I was in the main auditorium on the top floor by myself. I was waiting for a meeting of sorts with some of my peers, so I was playing some music and singing aloud to pass the time. Mind you, I was standing up and walking around. After a while(I didn't count the minutes), I heard one of the cushion seats unfolding, as if someone was sitting down. I looked around to see if it was one of my peers, but lo and behold the entire room was silent and empty, save for my own presence.
It didn't freak me out, per se, but I'm kind of disappointed that nothing like that has happened since.
Out of curiosity what made you remember this?
i would love to see a picture of that mansion. it sounds amazing, besides the ghost trying to kill you.
i think it was a good thing you didn't bring it up to your aunt cause most adults won't believe a child's word about the paranormal and will chuck it up as imagination.
but what the ghost did makes me thing something happened in that room a long time ago. possibly to a child.

I had a similar incident. I was up it my room on my bed watching RUclips and drawing when I heard the LOCKED front door below my room open. I didn’t hear it unlock or lock again after the door was shut. I wasn’t scared because I knew my brother was supposed to be home soon and he had a key. My brother always wears cowboy boots so when I heard the noise of them heading to our basement (where my brothers room is) on our hard wood floors it confirms my suspensions that it was just my brother. I even head my “brother” walk down the stairs. Not five minutes later I hear someone spamming the doorbell..... like my brother does when I’m home alone and he want be to let him in. So I walked slowly down stairs and saw through a window next to the front door was my brother standing outside the door I went straight away to open it I found it was still locked. I unlocked it and asked him “Didn’t you just come in?” He said “No why” so I told him what happened and he thought I was messing with him so he went into the basement and found nothing.
A few days later I go into the basement and as I look at my brothers door a see a shadow cast on the wall next to his open door. It’s looks like a fully dressed male with a Cowboy hat on. And I asked “Landin?” Suddenly my chest hurt and in my left arm there was this tingle..... then I heard my brother rustle out of bed and walk towards the door right before he reached the shadow it disappeared. He came out wearing only underwear. “Ya?” He asked “Sorry I was wondering if you were down here” I lied. He walked back to his bed and the shadow wasn’t there anymore.
I think the ghost is friendly and means no harm. It now is only in my room and I know when’s it’s around because I get the same pain in my chest and tingle in my left arm. I call it Carl the Cowboy. I think it might be my grandpa because he died from a heat attack hence the pain in my chest and tingle in my arm and Carl first showed up around Christmas and my GP died on Christmas. It’s just a theory tho.
The room makes me think of Harry potters bed room in the first movie lol

My bedroom has a lock on the outside of the room it freaks me out cause my brother locks me in there
I feel like the figure could've been a spirit that didn't want to hurt anyone. Maybe it injured itself, concluding to it's death. I understand where Madame is coming from with this as when i was younger i was asleep and i woke up to the sound of scratching on either mine or my parents' door (Their room is next to mine) so i got really scared. Now, i do have a cat but at night we close the living room door which is down stairs. I still to this day don't understand it. I mean, it could've been my imagination, i get that.. but i think it's pretty paranormal. As i said before, my cat is normally in the living room with the door shut... no real cat can reach the handle and pull it open, even if they tried.
One of my old cats attempted that with the front door... it was rather amusing r.i.p misty
Madame, you'd hate my house considering my mother keeps an old room with Victorian style furniture and...about 25 old baby dolls. all dressed up, propped up on beds, in cribs, or on a chair. I'm not that scared of dolls but I dislike that room it gives me an eerie vibe when I walk past it.

the movie dolls would creep you out.I I HATE Dolls, HATE. My aunt would have me as a kid hang out in a room FILLED with dolls, 80% of which where child-sized, (kids were to stay out of sight/sound while the grown-ups did whatever it was they did)and to this day I swear these things were possed. The faces would change expressions, when not looking they'd change positions. and a lot of feels of anger. mind you, my aunt and uncle had no living children(as a teen i was informed that they had had kids but they had passed early on and there had been miscarriages hence my aunts need to collect all these dolls,it filled some void. to this day i can not NOT deal in a room that has Dolls in it, Animal plushies anime figers im good im fine, but human dolls? HELL NO!.

I use to be terrified of dolls until one day at the age of 20, I fell asleep while riding my train back home and I had a dream about an old victorian doll. I have become obsessed looking for this exact same victorian doll and 2 years later I found it. I dont know why but it is my most precious belonging, I am no longer afraid of dolls but I have become obsessed with collecting them. The doll from my dream currently sits next to my bed in a glass case. I cherish that one doll above all my other dolls/other items.
Do you think you could have been the one sleep walking? It’s not what most people think it is, you aren’t totally asleep walking around, but you aren’t awake either. It’s really weird. And what you experience while sleep walking feels completely real. You can see things and hear things that aren’t even there. Idk if that’s what was going on, I know I do that and even though the things I experience are insane, they seem real at the time.

One of my biggest fears for most of my life has been dolls, and i can barely stsnd to sleep in a room with one wothout nightmares. A room full would have been a nightmare unto itself

Sage would be a nice cleanser. Maybe some rock salt as well? Just put it around the house. Avoid a lot of candles in one place if they're lit and in a dark place.

when i was younger my grandma lived in a large old apartment building (it actually used to be a hospital no joke) and my siblings and i would constantly visit her- to this day my mum still jokes about how clingy i was whenever i was supposed to spend the night, cause i would be fine during the day but the second it got dark I would always get my grandma to call my mum to come get me early- it was kinda hard to sleep at night when I kept hearing someone yelling outside the building every night, the same thing over and over and it just so happened to be my childhood nickname that only my dad called me, but no one else ever heard it (also there was this thing about the basement/garage part that was just a really long hallway, it's actually where the morgue used to be, and the lights were always red and my mum absolutely refused to go down there at night)
Well, the fear of dolls is kinda understandable both from folklorist and scientific view.
Scientific, as some of us humans feel unsettled when we get stared at by unmoving eyes.
Folklore, as there's a legend that since dolls, being extremely nearly close to humans in structure, but has no "occupant" or soul, are quite susceptible to being possessed by our Neighbors...

As I've felt dizzyness in my home and also have been attacked by spirits and I still have several scratches as it happened recently! you don't think it was sleep paralysis, do you? I used to get it when I was younger. It can cause a feeling of paralysis (duh lol) because your body is basically still asleep, which you didn't seem to experience; but it also often results in auditory and visual hallucinations. the first time I got it, I was around 6-8 years old and was staying at an old hotel with my family. I started hallucinating at around two in the morning and the paralysis made me feel like something was holding me down. it was terrifying. I was convinced the room was haunted by a demonic entity, but turns out, it was just a hallucination. I continued get sleep paralysis and see and feel "demons" up until I was about ten or eleven. very scary stuff, but it was literally all in my head-- at least, that's what I like to think.
Up until I was about 11 every now and then at family gatherings or out in public (basically anywhere where there were large groups of people) I would sometimes notice the strangest people watching me. they looked human but also...not? They always had what most would refer to as "Psycho Eyes" and would always be smiling, a creepy grin, and the scary part is their smiling mouths were much wider than physically possible. it almost seemed like their teeth were longer than average too. they would always just stand there smiling at me and the minute I looked away they'd be gone. no matter where I look I wouldn't find them. it was always just one person and they always looked a bit different but they always had those eyes and that smile. I don't know if I was daydreaming or if I was some weird kid with a crazy imagination...but all I know is I've never mentioned this to anybody until now.
I think kids have better chance of meeting ghosts than adults do. And adults will give it off as the child only having a imargy friend. Because i remembering meeting little girl ghost in one of house when I was little and I didn't have many friends too. And I spend lot of time playing in the attic with the little girl. And I had any other in encounter with a older man ghost that really scared me. And I was like probably 8 or 9 years old when this happened. I had to share a room with both mine sisters and I believe their was both friend's house staying the night or a few days. So I was in this room by mineself and getting ready for bed. And it probably didn't help that are room lead up into the attic. And had just taken up from a nightmare as well. So once I sit up. I saw a man staring at me by the attic door. And he put his finger to his lip as to say to keep quiet. Than he faded right though the door. Which scared me more. So I booked it for mine parents room to stay with them for the rest of the night. I think I ended up on the couch for the next few days till sisters come home. Because there was no way I staying in that room by mineself anymore.
I used to have this little doll lamp collector's item thing in my room and it's mostly the reason why I wouldn't sleep in my room, it was the one with the freaky eye effect. I was scared that it'd come to life while I was asleep and kill me somehow, so I can relate to having a distrust over something like that.

Aw heck yeah! The Sixth Sense!! I just recently watched it (I'm currently 13 and watched it right after I turned 13, the memory is still clear in my mind) and I loved it! Awesome movie if you like horror. It's not gross like Friday the 13th or whatever, but it's honestly a really sweet story!

My locks on my door suck and it ANYONE with long fingernails can turn the lock open. I'm scared to sleep without it locked or with it open.
This reminded me of something that happened to me just a few months ago. I was getting ready for bed, and the whole time, I felt like I was being watched. By the time I finished, I realized my room was freezing cold, but it was like 70-75 degrees. I got in bed, and fell asleep. Like normal, I woke up in the middle of the night, but, I didn't just see my super dark room, no, I saw a figure, a child figure, just standing right next to me. I almost screamed, but I quickly turned the other way and closed my eyes. I didn't fall back asleep, and I barely slept the night after that. Honestly, I was so scared, it freaks me out to think about it...

1 I don't actually think there is anything in this thing, but I thought I would share anyway.
So, a couple of years ago my grandmother gave me and my sister fake porsilyn (how ever you spell it) dolls (they look like those pretty old dolls, but are plastic), one for each of us. The one My sister has hasn't done anything but mine has a habit of falling/faceplanting. It has most of The time been on top of a cabinet in my room, where it also is now. At one point I took it down, so it could be seen better, because I like how it looks. So I took it down and put it on a drawer. It had been falling on The cabinet, and it was also doing it now. Since it was probably just badly balanced I kept fixing it. Now to The only "creepy" Part. I had a bunch of friends over and the doll was on The floor near the door. One of My friends was allready creeped out by it. When we were all leawing The Room, it fell straight on that friends feet. She freaked out, I fixed the doll and everyone left. It didn't fall again, untill we came back and it fell with the same friend again. It wasn't doing it with anyone else, but everytime that friend left/entered the Room it would fall on her. I've since moved it back to The top of the cabinet and it hasn't been falling after that, alltough I also haven't seen that friend in a while or anywhere near My House. So yeah, that was weird. Probably just a balance thing though.

I had a creepy doll experience. So I was spending the night at a friends house. It was probably 3:17 am. We were still awake watching stupid stuff of RUclips. So, her older sister has like 5 porcelain dolls. Me and my friend were just messing around. And we hear something. It came from her sisters room. Well, her sister was asleep on the couch and her door was closed. It sounded like someone was moving around in her sister's room. So like the idiots we are, we went to investigate. When we got to her sister's room, the door was cracked open just a bit. We figured that maybe, her sister woke up and went in her room. Since her room is on the 1st floor and we were on the second floor. I pushed the door open all the way. No one is in there. My first thought, "Maybe we were just hearing things." So we walk in. Her sister's dolls normally sit on a shelf in the closet that is left closed. That door was open too. We open the closet door all the way and find that one doll is missing while the rest were looking in the empty spot were it normally sat. Now, maybe it was a prank. But, like everyone was asleep. Except for us. Like her whole family was out cold. So we start panicking. Like there is now a creepy doll somewhere in this house. And I never liked dolls to begin with. We find the missing doll like 20 minutes later. It's sitting behind the door. If we had opened that door any more, it would have gotten crushed. My friend tells me not to touch it, but I'm stupid so I pick it up anyway. I examine it. Nothing wrong with it. Until I realize it's eyes we're following me as I moved it around in my hands. I dropped the doll and we ran outta there. Didnt shut any doors. We went back upstairs and into my friends room. We sit there for like 2 hours before we finally fall asleep. We wake up to my friend's mom waking us up for breakfast. We got dressed and started talking about what happened last night. Wondering if we should tell her mom and sister what happened. We decided against it. When we went down stairs, we passed her sister's room. The door was shut and there was no noises coming from inside. Mind you, we didn't close the door. After we eat, we go into her sister's room. Closet door in closed too. The doll I left on the ground isn't there anymore. We open the closet door. All dolls are in place and looking in front of them. The eyes weren't following us this time. They moved out a few weeks ago. While they were unpacking, her sister couldn't find the dolls.
Couldn't it have been your cousins playing a prank on you? Could also have been something like a burglar though I'm sure things wouldn't be missing in that case.
Ok so story time:
My best friend lives in this HUGE three story house. I used to go and spend the night there all the time. One night (the night of her birthday) her, three friends, and I all stayed the night at her house. One of them (we’ll just call her Max) and I stayed in the top guest bedroom.
This bedroom was beautiful. Like, the room every little girl going through her princess phase dreams of having. Except... she had the armoire filled with porcelain dolls.
That night, when Max and I were going to sleep, we heard a small tapping noise. Now, we were only about ten at the time, scared of everything because of the stories we saw on the internet. So Max leans over and turns on the lamp on the nightstand. We look at each other, then at the windows (not surrounded by any trees, so we kinda ruled that one out), then at the armoire.
I went over to look at it, but nothing was there. We told no-one, since the friend who lived there, nor any of our family, believed in ghosts.

Also, those phones were so much faster for texting. One knew where the letters were! I look forward to the day when I can throw my touch-screen out a fucking window.

I had a little room/door like that in my childhood bedroom at the foot of my bed. My friends & I would dare each other to see who could stay in it the longest--it was pitch-black of course. I think I'd rather have spent a solid week in that thing than cross paths with any porcelain doll for even a second. They might even scare me more now than they did as a kid 😣 I don't think that little space was haunted, but my actual closet probably was.
I love hearing things like this as I'm a big believer in a lot of supernatural/paranormal things. I think it's all really interesting, but at the same time I know if I actually saw or experienced anything myself.... Nope lol
My mother and I both sleepwalk and stuff like this has happened to both of us, even if you do realize it's someone you know it's still terrifying.
Omg I hate dolls too! Most I ever had was a couple of barbies which I no longer trusted after watching Chucky lol! Now idk of this is a Mexican thing but my grandmother and mom never left me sleep with dolls or even have those porcelain dolls because they said at night they would come to life. They were so serious about it they refused to get me any or have any relatives gift me dolls. Once a family friend gave me one and my mom & grandma looked horrified and decided to not let me unbox it. They instead stuck it in a locked trunk in the guest bedroom of my grandparent’s house
The description of the alice in wonderland room is almost exactly on par with a room I have in my house. Given, my house is only like 50 years old and the second floor (plus that room) was added on later, and the room is really just the attic above the garage... but it being at the top of the stairs, child sized door that locks from the outside, all sounds exactly like it. No ghosties in there as far as I know though, just a bunch of our old crap.

It could've been 2 things
1. It was (you said you were 10 did you say?) probably your 10 year old mind playing tricks on you, cuz kids and creepy looking things etc don't mix, or when you're tired you see things that aren't there
2. It was a ghost or something idk

Dolls...
Normally horror movies with dolls scares people. Animes with dolls scare me. Even if it's all cute, the dolls wil suddenly make animes dark.
