out of all of my research getting into fpv, i just could not understand the antennas. This video is the first one that actually made things clear, tysm
Thank you! New to FPV. Fixed wing War Bird flier. Perfect simple and easy to understand the basics. I learned about Right and Left hand from you. Being new with no other FPV fliers I associate with, your vid was a HUGE help. Cheers from Annapolis MD USA

Great content. Might mention that you can bend some antennas between the plug and the "top", eliminating the need for an extra sma right angle connector. I love those lollipops! What I use!
This sort of helped me understand things a bit better. I’m new to FPV so have lost countless hours researching. I’m on a budget but still like to try and go for kit that’s adaptable as I progress over time. If someone could weigh in with what lollipop and patch antennas they recommend and what adapters I would need to go with my Eachine EV100 goggles and the EMAX TinyHawk 2 Freestyle (stock config). I’m using the Jumper T-lite controller. Hopefully people that know more than me can help narrow the decision process as I just want to get cracking now 😅 Thanks in advance.
What would be the best antenna for the foxeer wild fire receiver while flying the mobula 6 as the antenna is built into the drone? I seen a few tiny whoops in the back ground
But most of the little drones like Tinyhawk or Mobula or Beta fpv just have a little linear antenna sticking out, so wouldn't you just want the cheap linear antenna that comes with your goggles most of the time? Linear on the drone, linear on the goggles? I really want to get one of those long 15cm antennas, but it's circular right? So just because it's sticking up higher it's not better or is it?
The bigger antennas clear your head and should be better. I’d recommend circular vs linear only because if you switch to circular you’ll get gains. But you are right linear won’t put you at a disadvantage
I think the main questions beginners have...are those antennas for goggles or for the quad? Or are they interchangeable? If I'm buying a bnf quad how do I know what antennas I need? How about those micros? I already own some goggles will they work with that micro? Seems a bit more complicated than just matching left or right hand...
@@HalfChrome if i have a linear antenna on my bnf drone, can i replace the linear antenna on my goggles and get a better signal? drones antenna is soldered unfortunately but goggles are not.
@@HalfChrome thanks for answering! One more question and then I fully understand how to upgrade my kit. If the drones antenna is straight, does it matter if gogs are RHCP or lhcp? As long as both in the gogs are the same is ok?
I just got fatshark scout goggles. In the description I saw LHCP omni & patch built in front on goggles. Is that correct. I can't find anymore information on the antanea. All of my quadcopters except for Walkera are RHCP. I'm slightly confused about if the fatshark scouts are RHCP or LHCP. Can you help me with the right antanea. Thanks. Just subbed
Good stuff! I am also flying a tinyhawk S. I got some cheap diversity goggles and wondering what antenna the TinyHawk is, so I know which 2 antennas to buy for my goggles. Any clue? Cheers from Hamburg!
@@HalfChrome Right on! Thanks. I put this out there elsewhere but perhaps you know... I replaced motor #1 with a new one on my TinyHawk 1s. Rear left is #1, as in Betaflights QUAD X mixer. Wondering how to tell JUST THOSE 2 motors to reverse and stop effen around lol! Cheers!

I have an RHCP on my googles, in fact 2 of them. And one RG178 5.8 Linear antenna on my Drone. So RHCP or LHCP dont matter? Or would it be better when you have linear on drone, to not get a rhcp or lhcp for the googles?
So as a beginner should i take a pair of those lollipop 3 mushrooms + a good patch? Just wanna fly around objects and go through some buildings. 50 - 700m range.
@@HalfChrome Sir, sorry for asking another one, but if me and my friend have cobra x / ev800dm, than should the antennas from your video work for both (at least the red lollipops). What would you say the best pagoda antenna is? I'm definitely getting the menace pico patch but I'm not sure which pagoda to match it with
so what your saying is that at least one of your antenna will have to be the same as the one as on the drone
They should all match for best reception
